When it came time to fix the ceiling, we could not get the previous company to return our calls so we turned to MXCP Construction. We had a consultation over the phone and I agreed for them to start the job the following week. They arrived promptly, assessed the damage in person, and talked me through the repair and patch process. They got to work right away and finished the repairs on the same day including the texture. The ceiling repair had to dry so it could not be completed on the same day. The crew cleaned up and took all the debris with them. The price was reasonable, they were timely, and the ceiling looked good!

However, he did not speak any English. How disappointing! I probably should have stopped there, but I didn't and I regretted it. It was too hard to communicate even the most simple words. We had to use a translator app which takes away from the time I'm paying for. I believe if you're going to charge $50 an hour, and the state minimum is $7.50, you should speak English. If you don't, you need someone with you that does. I had a series of tasks and every conversation required the app. The performance was excellent for some tasks and others were a bit disappointing. I was trying to patch some holes in the wall in the paint did not match exactly. He painted all the holes instead of just doing a small part and getting my approval before moving forward. Maybe we lost something in translation there. Now I have uneven colors and I'll have to cover with a painting. I'm giving it 3 stars because I feel that announcing that the worker does not speak English should be business practice for transparency. A paying customer deserves that. I paid them in full and made my comments known. If you only have one task, perhaps a translation app is okay. In my case, we had several and the constant need to record and play made it for a long afternoon.

I called Elite Contracting - they answered and came the next day to bid my job…read more I have a beautiful 10 year old - $30k composite deck that was bowing on one railing and was leaning - so it wasn't secure and looked awful. The spokes were literally not able to touch the railing. I figured it was from extreme heat in the summer and it being so cold in the winter. I had one contractor that came and told me that I needed to have a new railing made. And the other contractors I called were too busy to come to my home and see the job so I took a video and messaged it. That contractor said the same.. 'replace the railing'. James from Elite Contracting came to my house meandered with the railing - climbed underneath the deck with a ladder to investigate. He didn't have his tools at the moment. He measured and brought back a couple of pieces wood the next morning literally popped my deck back into place. He saved me a fortune and was so professional, on time, and was a great communicator throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Elite Contracting and will definitely use them again next time we have a problem we can't fix!!

Botched chimney flashing repair…read more I hired Monroy to replace my chimney flashing that was leaking inside the house and causing water damage to the wall in an upstairs bedroom and my living room below. The job also included caulking the J-channel that ran up and down the entire chimney. Jeff charged $2950 for the job and had a man named Carlos come do the work. Carlos missed caulking a section of the J-channel which is leaking into the house now. After another day of rain the original flashing leak is still leaking so I consider this a complete failure. I had already had the inside wall tore open so I can clearly see the leaks. Jeff has stopped returning my calls and texts so he has no intention of making this right. If they don't get it right the first time you're screwed.
