I have an older UNIT and assumed it would simply need to be replaced. To my surprise, the technician was able to get the unit running and took the time to do a general inspection of the system. He did say that we should probably budget to replace the unit next summer. What I really liked about the situation over-all is that this guy could have come in and said "eh, you should replace this unit. Oh, by the way, we sell units." Instead of doing that he got our current unit running for a fair price, explained that the repair should get us through the summer, and recommended that we save some cash to replace it next summer. It was a very honest assessment, I will certainly call Wade again when I am ready to replace my system.

I noticed this past Saturday evening that the unit was beginning to fall off of my house. I gave Wade a call and they mentioned that they could not come out until early Monday morning, since this is more than a 1 person job. I asked what to do in the meantime and the technician from Wade told me that it would be okay if the refrigerant line holds the unit to the house until then. I had to call the fire department to help me secure it to ensure this did not become a serious hazard that could result in further property damage or injuring someone. Monday morning came and no one from Wade contacted me. I then contacted Wade again Monday morning and they told me someone would be out later in the afternoon to assess the situation. A representative from Wade came out at 3:30pm on Monday to take pictures. Shortly afterwards, I received a phone call from a manager from Wade stating that they could handle the repair, but at my cost since their labor warranty is only 1 year. He stated that the brick failed and this is not Wade's fault. This is despite me informing him that incorrect anchors were used as per multiple independent opinions I received from qualified HVAC professionals. I decided to have Duda HVAC come out and handle the repairs and was amazed by their professionalism, compared to my experiences with Wade. I have added Wade Heating and Cooling to my list of "COMPANIES TO NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN"

Most recently I paid $100 for checking and cleaning my furnace. He accepts payment via credit card (preferred) or check. I do not think that this business has a website, so if you want an appointment, then please call their phone number. A friendly woman will answer the phone and schedule your appointment. They are a small business in northern Allegheny County, so I think that they probably prefer to work in that area.

The work had to be done in the fall season due to the old furnace and ductwork was in the hot attic and the new furnace was being relocated to a first-floor cupboard. The owner Bob came out and designed a new complete Lennox HVAC system including the new ductwork. His son Alex answered all my questions, did all the job coordinating and paperwork including the estimate and rebates. Son Quentin and 2 additional workers installed the complete HVAC system. This was a large and complex job. The installation took a full 8 days start to finish and Bob with Alex visited the job 3 times making sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. This is a family-owned company and each person goes all out to please the customer using top quality materials and workmanship. When you call May Heating, they return your call like the old days. They are all about pleasing the customer, they don't rush through jobs to make fast money and put out a poor unprofessional job, then ghost you and don't answer your calls or text. The one star is for being charged twice, once for $1156.56 at 1:15pm and then for $1099 at 2:13pm on August 8th for a water heater that was supposed to cost $1099, and for being gaslit by two people after calling twice to report the double-charge and sending a photo of a screenshot of my bank transactions clearly showing that I was charged twice. On August 8, 2025, at 10:35 am, a technician from Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing was dispatched to my home for a leaking water heater and suspicion of leaking pipes due to some water damage to ceiling tiles in my basement. I paid the dispatch fee of $59.00 from my checking account using my debit card on July 18, 2025. Thankfully, the water damage was old, so I only needed a replacement water heater. I agreed to have my water heater replaced for the price of $1099. The water heater was replaced, and Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing charged my debit card for $1156.56 at 1:15 pm, which was the time that the job was complete. I thought the total may have included the dispatch fee (I forgot I paid this in July) or tax, so I wasn't alarmed that the charge was $56.56 over the $1099 price I was quoted. Then, my card was charged again for $1099 at 2:13 pm for one gas water heater that was supposed to cost $1099. Because both are pending transactions, I was directed by my bank to contact the vendor. When I called, I was gaslit by two different people, who told me I must be mistaken because they don't have the capability to double-charge, blamed my bank, and suggested I dispute the transaction as my only recourse. I called Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing at 2:36 pm, as soon as I saw that I was charged $1099 as a second charge, and spoke to Madison, explaining that I had been charged twice for the water. Madison proceeded to gaslight me, stating that the company can't double-charge and requested I email a picture of my pending transactions. I emailed a picture of my pending transactions, as requested (see photo). Hailey, who answered the second time I called, confirmed that she received and could view the picture, but still proceeded to tell me that Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing cannot double-charge me. She then blamed my bank and told me I could dispute the transaction. I informed Hailey that the transaction information was identical for both charges. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will update my review if the BBB complaint is addressed by Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing. Update 8.15.2025: Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing addressed my BBB complaint and refunded the additional $1156.56 charge on August 13th. I am thankful that they addressed this mistake promptly.

The techs were very nice, especially the younger apprentice who came and made our dog much more reassured, as he sometimes gets nervous and barks incessantly when strangers are in our home. What we didn't like was the fact that we were automatically entered into their $97/year "savings" program. When we questioned why our receipt didn't reflect the alleged discount, we were told that firstly, our tech entered us into the savings program to save $300. We asked why the total didn't reflect that and were told that the discount was taken out on the receipt, yet they don't show you what it is. If that is true, two toilet installs, a valve replacement and bidet attachment install was nearly $2,000. It also took 5 days to receive the said receipt. Overall, we'll be looking for another, more affordable plumber.
