I can't say enough good things about this company. I own an apartment building and have used them three times now. The first time they came, it was for one of my furnace units. At the time i had just moved here to care for my mother who was very ill and I had just bought the building so didnt have a lot of expendable income. They put in a factory refurbished unit for HALF the price and even agreed to bill me and let me pay in installments due to my situation. The second time i had to call them was for another tenant's A/C that stopped working at the end of August when it was 99 degrees. I first called Homer 9 & Sons because they didn't charge for after hours calls and that was a huge mistake. The tech that came started telling me how i was probably gonna have to change out all of the HVAC units. I told him i couldn't afford $10k and asked if there was any way to fix the broken one and he said definitely not, and that it would be $3,300 to put in a new one. He also said if i didnt purchase and book the installation right then, that i would have to wait a week to have it installed because there were no openings. When i asked if they had refurbished units he said no. While he was leaving, my downstairs tenant mentioned his thermostat wasn't working so the tech went to look at it and told me to rewire it would be $165 but that if we cut out Homer 9, that he would go get one from their warehouse and do it for $60. He also gave me his cell phone and told me we could work something out if i called him direct. He was very shifty and tbh it was getting dark and i didnt even want to be around him. So he did nothing that day but i had to pay $180 for his visit. The next day Homer 9 called and when i told them i would have to get a second opinion, they suddenly were available to install immediately. That sounded great to me, but in the interim i had already made an appointment with MAIER, so i told them i would call them back. When Maier came, Jordan and Josh said they could get me a refurbished unit for $1200 but that they wanted to see if they could fix the broken one first. They said they had a fan in their van but they weren't sure if it would fit. They went to get it and confirmed that it was not the right size. However, they said that maybe they could cut it down to make it fit. And after an hour and a half of prepping it, it worked! So i only had to pay $350!!!!! The third time i had to call them was one month later for my water heater that exploded. They came that same day and not only replaced it with a brand new one at $400 off (they were running a special), but they pumped out all the water and left the basement spic and span. Maier is a very ethical company and Jordan and Josh are so sweet, resourceful and kind that i think they should get a raise. read more

This review is a bit overdue. I bought a home with central air but the seller did not disclose that the air conditioner didn't work. This was a tough lesson to learn during a very hot Pa. summer. Five hvac companies came to my house the same day. Their estimates ran from $5000-$7000+ for a new ac unit. Mailer was the ONLY one of the five that actually looked inside the unit to find that a burned wire was the problem. They had it repaired in less than an hour saved me a lot of money for this summer. read more

Terrible service i was a potential new business customer looking for a brand new unit with installation. The service guy was 30 minutes late, never called me. I called the business and stated where is your guy at and the lady tells me he's been out to the residence when i been in my car at the residence the whole time, and on top of that stated they called me twice which never received. I had a problem with my air conditioning unit. I called the local company that has the service contracts on my two units. After a technician came and looked at the unit, I was told I would need a new unit at the cost of $4000. Since Maier had installed the unit, I called them this morning and they sent out a technician, who was thoroughly knowledgeable, and after two hours, he cleaned the part that was rusted and did many other trouble shooting and had the AC up and running. He was going to check if the part was still under warranty and give me a call. I am very thankful that I called and Maier and saved myself $4000. Their attention to customer service has convinced me to switch service providers. read more

I cannot speak for everyone who works for this company, but the people who were sent to my parents' house were not vaccinated. The company did not mention this beforehand, the workers did not say anything before coming in, unmasked, to the home of two senior citizens. Who knows where else they've been? Is it our fault for assuming a business whose job is to literally spend hours in people's homes would take precautions to keep their workers and customers safe? Maybe. But why would you want everyone to automatically assume the worst of your company, instead of the best? read more

Had AC installed today two young men from Maier Heating & Cooling did a great job. Thanks guys now all we need is 90 degree weather.

They were contracted to replace AC units in our apartments, mine being one of them(two younger boys). I had to work the evening overnight of the day they came for a 16 hour shift at 7 months pregnant just to give some background. They were there ALL day from 8am to 6pm 10 hours for a simple install!!!!! I got no sleep for my shift and wasnt able to even eat or get my lunch packed for work til they decided to take their 2 hour lunch!!! Even then i had to move everything they had sprawled all over my kitchen and apartment to even get anywhere. They even decided after lunch to blow up and clog my toilet. So i had to deal with their sh*t lliterally, twice. I even heard them bragging about how much money they will be making taking so long. Luckily i wasnt the one paying for it but it still caused a huge problem for me especially later in the year. They even were what i assume was welding something and smoke poured into my room i couldnt breathe and being pregnant (which they knew cuz they saw me) that wasnt a good thing to breathe. I finally had enough and yelled at them about it(pregnancy hormones got the best of me) in 30 mins after yelling they were finally "done". As in a few months later when we had a huge rain storm water was pouring from the closet it is in all over the kitchen, practically flooding it!!!! They didn't seal around the unit in the outside wall!!!! You would think if you milked the clock for 10 hours you would ATLEAST do your job correctly!!!! They did this to 5 apartments that i know of. Im sure this business isnt always like this, because they wouldn't get business if they were, but the two young kids they had were the worst! read more

We initially found these folks via the home warranty plan on our house. We liked their service so much that we have continued to use them after our warranty expired. As of this review, they have serviced our aging heat pump system three times to date for different issues. They have always arrived within the scheduled time frame and are very knowledgeable. What I appreciate the most is that they don't try to turn a service call into a sales call for new equipment. They diagnose the problem, present an accurate estimate, and then repair the problem. I will continue to use them for service and when the time comes for a new system, they will get the first call. read more

Jennifer who I talked to on the phone was so friendly and helpful and the man that came to my house (Greg?) to check out my old air conditioning was nice & very thorough in checking out the situation with my old air conditioning system.
