We purchased 2 ceiling fans from Hodgson, and they recommend Lamplighter for install. A crew of 4…read moreguys came, were very nice, and we stayed out of their way while they did the install. At the end of the install, they let us know that the wall switches don't work and they may have purchased incompatible ones. We thought that was weird but no big deal, and they said they would call us back to install correct switches. They left. We checked the fans, which seemed to be wobbling quite a bit. We called Hodgsons to ask if that was normal and they had us check the fan blades, which slid in and out. Hodgson told us that the blades must be loose based on that, and that it isnt normal. I called Lamplighter back that day (a Friday), and the receptionist said they would have a manager call me Monday. No call Monday or Tuesday, so I left a message again. No return call. We had Hodgsons come out and they said they had talked to Lamplighter, and Lamplighter never told them about the incorrect switches. He also said that they had told him that they didn't want to speak to me because we were rude during install...weird because I helped make sure they navigated the large ladder upstairs, asked if they needed anything, and told them I would be downstairs out of their way during install, but to get me if they needed me. Hodgsons found several issues: all fan blades were installed loose, causing the wobbling. One fan had all blades installed upside down. The pin in the downrod wasn't put in in either fan, and they were unsure how Lamplighter got the wrong wall switches. I called Lamplighter AGAIN and they still refused to call back, even after Hodgsons talked to them about all the install issues. No apology, no call back...nothing. Hodgsons was EXCELLENT to work woth and repaired all of the errors made by Lamplighter. I would not recommend Lamplighter for both shoddy work and terrible customer service.

One week after " completing" the job, I had electrical failures upstairs. They came back corrected their mistake. Second week during a renovation project the builder discovered the old nob and tube wiring they said they removed was still intact and ACTIVE! Whitney came back out a second time and took care of the issue. Third week I went into the basement and discovered they had taken out all the light socket and electrical switches and didn't replace any of them. Five in total. In addition the " boss" adamantly said to take care of each of those three problems it would cost extra. Thank goodness I had a contract. emEnd if discussion. My son, had a very similar issue not knowing it was Whitney that I hired. Whitney sent out a plumber to fix a Clogged drain. My son used a plumbers snake and a few other things to remedy the problem clog to no avail. when the plumber from Whitney came, my son showed him where the clog was. Plumber said you need a snake to unclog it and I didn't bring one. Charged my son $250. My son said your website says free estimates. Plumber replied, estimates are free. This is a diagnostic fee.
