I like the thought of reducing the number of cans and bottles I use when buying pop and sparking drinks. Every little bit helps. I noticed in my inbox that Bed Bath & Beyond had a $20 coupon of an entire order. I decided to use it towards my new Sodastream machine. I also ordered a bottle of raspberry mint syrup to get started on my adventure making fizzy drinks. I ordered online and used my coupon to get $20 off my order. I chose to pick up both items. The minor problem? The Sodastream model that I wanted was available at my local Markham location and not at this store. My raspberry mint syrup was in stock here, but not at the Markham store. Yes, I visited two different Bed Bath & Beyond stores within two hours. It was nice getting reacquainted with them. This store is with a bunch of box stores, including Winners, PetSmart, Best Buy, and more. There was plenty of parking on a Saturday afternoon. I browsed around the store. It was clean and bright. I looked at hand sanitizer and masks, and planted myself in the small appliances section for the longest time. I went to the pickup counter. My wait wasn't long. I gave the woman my name and a brief description of my item. She went to a couple of locked cabinets to fetch my bottle of beverage syrup. I provided photo ID (yay to an expired driver's licence that is valid these days during this pandemic) and the bottle was mine. I thanked her and left. On my way out the door, I was mesmerized by a cute Sun Bum ape mascot holding a tube of lip balm. I looked like such a tourist taking a photo of him. Sadly, he wasn't for sale. Imagine my surprise when I showed up at 9:05 am, the mall was literally empty, and the store was closed! I grabbed a coffee and caught up on Yelp for one hour! The carafes were beautiful, but when I arrived home (after storing them carefully in my trunk, in a basket wedged with towels), one of the carafes had a nick on the opening. I was able to return the damaged carafe with minimum hassle, but decided not to keep the other two. They seem to be very fragile. Since the items were pre-wrapped and placed in a bag, I would suggest you check your items before leaving the store (I normally do!) It would be great if they wrapped items with several layers; instead of loosely wrapped once. They have some unique houseware, stationery, and clothing items, but on the pricy side.

The returned email indicated that we should do this sooner than later as the glass ordered was discontinued and my email was forwarded to the store. The person at the store responded with a request for measurements for the glass and lamp shades. Two days later we are at the store, no lamp shades, no low voltage lighting, no glass not even the style of light bulb we needed so I ask for the replacement glass I ordered and was told sorry it's not here. So I contact the originator of the email chain and asked that under the circumstances they send the order no cost and they refused......so I canceled and would rather replace the whole fixture than deal further with this company.
