I've been to many different u-pick farms throughout the area and Heider's three times now, and this…read moreis by far my favorite farm for strawberry picking specifically. Their strawberries are truly the best I've ever tasted!! Check Facebook for the most recent updates if you plan on coming here! Do not rely on their Google page or their website for hours. Typically strawberry season starts early to mid June but it seemed to be delayed this year. I've been checking their Facebook everyday since early June and eagerly waiting for a day that finally worked out for me to come!! They advertised that strawberries were very limited the day I planned on going, but we filled an entire bucket in about an hour or less and we even got there 2.5 hours after they opened! I was so happy it all worked out. I just love the simpleness of this farm. There's no large attractions, big food court, or commercial feel to it. People pretty much just come here to pick berries then leave, which really keeps the crowds down too. Their farm allows for a peaceful activity to take your mind off of busy life for a bit and spend some quiet time in nature. They do have a small shop with a few souvenirs and other items, plus some small snacks such as chips, but they mostly encourage guests to bring their own food and enjoy a picnic on their picnic tables! I loved petting their little rabbits too. They were so friendly!!! I appreciate that they do not charge you until after you are finished berry picking. I've been wanting to go raspberry picking here as well, so I picked up three baskets. I was getting tired so I decided against it and was able to return the baskets easily. Overall amazing family-owned farm that I hope never changes and I can keep coming back to every year!

To me, it's more fun when there are significantly more people around, and during peak summertime when there are plenty of strawberries, red raspberries, and black raspberries, that is the most fun and, in my opinion, worth the higher price. Off season both strawberries and raspberries are not going to be very sweet. It's rare for me to find black raspberries just in general, so that is a major draw for me returning!! It is so much fun to pick your own berries and such a fun outing for families and kids! They run a tight ship about making sure people stay in certain areas before they open up more, so I can see how that can be an inconvenience for some. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience and I definitely recommend a visit!!!

Always wanted to go strawberry picking, but every year we miss the picking window…read more This year we finally went. Chose Stade's based on reviews, availability and location. It was great and would definitely go again! Pricing is fair. They require a $7 minimum per person. It wasn't a problem for us because we chose (2) 4 quart buckets. As of June 2026, 1 qt was $7, 2 qt $14 and 4 qt was $20. I feel their pricing is fair esp given the price of berries recently. They provide the buckets that you keep. You can either take a trolley, train (extra charge) or walk. The field wasn't too far about 10-15 min. We opted to walk both ways. The strawberry fields were pretty big. I highly recommend coming early in the day because it gets busy and the earlier you come, the bigger the berries. They stagger their plantings so it stretches the season longer. They also have lettuce, radishes, cilantro, raspberries and sugar snap peas this weekend. Everything except sugar snap peas were a separate charge. All of their pricing is on their website and their Facebook page has their availability for the day. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but no dogs. The market is worth checking out. They had meats, pies, gifts, donuts, drinks and some produce. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade slushy. It was refreshing after a couple of hours in the sun. The strawberry donut was tasty, too. It was moist and tender and not terribly sweet. Will definitely be back next year for more strawberry picking. We may comeback for other pickings later this year.

They offer so many other fruits and vegetables to pick from too, so there's always something new to enjoy each season! The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable considering how fresh and high-quality the produce is. Everything we picked tasted incredible - you can tell it's straight from the farm. We've made it a tradition to go every year, and it never disappoints. It's a wholesome, fun outing that's 100% worth it!

Perhaps I caught someone on a bad day but the person who we dealt with when I asked for the peck bag and raspberry container barked at me when I asked where to go to find the raspberries and where for the apples available today. He than yelled that he didn't want my kids throwing the apples around. I have 5 year olds and they were standing by my side, well behaved and attentive. I asked why he would say that and he rudely said that is all kids do there. Not very family friendly to say the least. I would have left but I didn't want to upset my kids more than he already did. When I paid, I dealt with someone else and he was cordial but the other person was so rude they are deserving of one star.

I go to the farm for pickup every week, and I love the variety, that I can pick and choose between over a dozen different herbs and veggies, the extras they often have, the UPick tomatoes and beans and etc. It's also such a relief to know where my food is coming from, that there are no chemical fertilizers or pesticides in it, that it's not downwind a feedlot so no chances of salmonella outbreaks in their leafy greens, that it hasn't been sprayed to ripen -- the peace of mind itself is invaluable. They have three seasons (spring, summer, and fall) that you can sign up for (that often sell out early, especially the summer season), as well as Thursday farmstands in the afternoon. Also, at the beginning of May they sell seedlings, with prices cheaper than The Growing Place, and most of the plants I buy from there thrive in my garden with no additions required (I put compost in the hole and around the base when I first plant them, mulch around the seedlings, and that's pretty much it, by mid-July I'm getting more tomatoes and basil and etc than I know what to do with).
