Always wanted to go strawberry picking, but every year we miss the picking window. This year we finally went. Chose Stade's based on reviews, availability and location. It was great and would definitely go again! Pricing is fair. They require a $7 minimum per person. It wasn't a problem for us because we chose (2) 4 quart buckets. As of June 2026, 1 qt was $7, 2 qt $14 and 4 qt was $20. I feel their pricing is fair esp given the price of berries recently. They provide the buckets that you keep. You can either take a trolley, train (extra charge) or walk. The field wasn't too far about 10-15 min. We opted to walk both ways. The strawberry fields were pretty big. I highly recommend coming early in the day because it gets busy and the earlier you come, the bigger the berries. They stagger their plantings so it stretches the season longer. They also have lettuce, radishes, cilantro, raspberries and sugar snap peas this weekend. Everything except sugar snap peas were a separate charge. All of their pricing is on their website and their Facebook page has their availability for the day. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but no dogs. The market is worth checking out. They had meats, pies, gifts, donuts, drinks and some produce. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade slushy. It was refreshing after a couple of hours in the sun. The strawberry donut was tasty, too. It was moist and tender and not terribly sweet. Will definitely be back next year for more strawberry picking. Stade's is such a fun place to visit with family and friends. We went for raspberry and apple picking and had an amazing time - it's such a great experience being out in the fields. They offer so many other fruits and vegetables to pick from too, so there's always something new to enjoy each season! Came here on a Saturday morning for berry and veggie picking and left with bags full of produce. They had rows and rows of blueberries and raspberries, plus a crazy variety of vegetables--peppers, onions, peas, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi (yes, really), beets, zucchini, cucumbers... we were blown away by how much there was. It was actually a ton of fun pulling veggies straight out of the ground and hunting for the best berries. Felt super satisfying and kinda meditative. Definitely a good way to spend a few hours outdoors. Pro tip: there's no shade at all in the fields, so wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and sunglasses unless you want to roast. We didn't bother with water bottles because sampling the fruit as we went kept us hydrated. Highly recommend doing that--those berries are perfect. read more

Huge, sprawling fields of strawberries await you! We visited from the Chicago suburbs and found plentiful parking and a bumper crop of berries. Be prepared for a lot of crouching since you've got to get low to the ground to snag your best berry. I'd recommend sunscreen and a hat - you won't find much shade out there. Love this farm! We've come for tomato picking before, but did strawberries and sugar snap peas this time. Highly recommend the sugar snap peas! They were so crispy and sweet. But also it's just fun having littles who can actually pick things at their own level, compared to having to hoist them up to pick apples. Our kids had a fun time walking through the rows and finding them hiding. It's a short walk to these patches also. The folks here are really kind and tried to help us get a better deal, but since we have 2 kids each one needs their own bucket (iykyk). The farm is just a fun atmosphere. And we went on a super windy day, which made it all the more thrilling somehow. There are port-a-potties near the patches. And these have the little foot pedal to "flush" which is nicer than the kind where it's just a hole. There was hand sanitizer in there if you aren't someone like me who carries one around everywhere. There's also a station to wash hands before you leave the patches, which is nice. The apple cider donuts here are so much better than others we've had! Try them! The strawberry ones were a little too sweet for my taste, but the apple cider donuts are great. read more

This review is based strictly on Apple picking and pumpkin picking in the pre picked pumpkin area. I've been coming here for a few years now and really enjoy it. The staff is helpful and kind and guides you to the Apple orchard perfectly. I didn't realize how big their Apple orchard was until this year and goodness the walk felt like it took forever lol. Mind you it probably was a 5-8 min walk max, so truthfully it's not bad at all. I think we came late in the season (Oct 15 2023) bc I noticed a lot of the apples had been picked. There are still plenty that are growing which is great to see too. Thankfully honeycrisp was plentiful and that's exactly the 1 type of apple I wanted anyway. After apple picking, my fiancé and I made our way to the market and selected a pumpkin to carve and seeds to roast. There is a cute area for selecting pre-picked pumpkins and other squash options. Lots of photo ops there too. Tip - there is a $10 fee for every person Apple picking. Even if you don't pick apples, the fee is required. You might as well pick 'em! Attraction tkts are an additional cost of $22 per person. I personally think there are other places that are cheaper if you are looking for both apple picking and entertainment/attractions. This is the first time we came here for apple picking and it was wonderful. There's plenty of different apples choice which was nice. Most of the trees had some great apple fully ready for picking. Apples sweet and delicious. The farm has many acres of fresh veggies and fruits for picking including cucumbers, zucchini and various peppers. This was a quick stop for me. I didn't pick anything or bring a child for the attractions, I just came for some apple cider donuts. So this is a review of the country store specifically. First, I'll say the parking was ample. However, it IS just a field, which is fine but I think some spray painted lines could make things a bit less chaotic. The store is large with plenty of different things to buy. Everything from veggies, fruits, meats, breads, candles, shirts, gifts and more. It was crowded for sure, but there was just enough room to maneuver around. The line was long but they had a steady pace and it wasn't a long wait. Friendly staff is also a plus. The donuts were disappointing. Just ok, not even as good as the ones in the grocery store. Unfortunately these were a bit dry and a bit bland. There's nothing like the taste of a freshly picked apple straight from the tree. After tasting apples from an orchard, store bought apples will never quite be the same. My first experience with pick your own apples was in Ohio where they had the best honeycrisp apples you could possibly imagine, so when I was visiting the Chicago area I knew I had to go with the family to pick a bushel of fruit! When you arrive you go to the barn area where you prepay for your bag. The bags (As of Oct 2022) are all made of plastic. This presents a slight problem if you have a lot of apples in your bag, as it can be prone to tearing. Also, a bushel of apples is just plain heavy anyways so bring a cart or something you can place the bag on to make hauling your apple bounty easier on you. For your reference a bushel of apples weighs anywhere from 40-48 lbs. The apples available when we went in Oct 2022 were: Honey crisp Evercrisp Gibson golden Rosalee Jonagold Empire Red cameo There's a white board when you walk to the apple trees that tells you which rows each variety of apple tree will be located at. When we went a lot of the trees were picked bare except for the very tops of the trees so one suggestion is to bring a pole fruit picker with you if it's later in the season and the apples within typical picking height are mostly gone. You could also invite someone tall to your orchard festivities to get the best apples if it's later in the season. Now's a good as time as any to make friends with Paul Bunyan, Yao Ming, or maybe Johnny Appleseed. Just don't invite Dennis Rodman because you know what they say, one bad apple can spoil the bunch. Overall we had a good time picking apples. If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, we were set for a doctorless experience for quite some time with our fruitiful bounty. If you go to the market area there's more fruit and vegetables for sale, and they also sell items such as apple cider donuts, pies and jams. I had an apple cider donut which was just scrumptious but the pies were just OK. This is a fun place to come on a fall afternoon. Pumpkins, apple picking, kids attractions (we didn't partake in this), plenty of food and dessert options, and hayrides. We came here for some pumpkins and it didn't disappoint. We left with two bug pumpkins, a pie pumpkin, and some smaller decorative pumpkins. Pumpkins are priced individually...our two big ones were $10 each. The farm market is cool, but most everything is from outside vendors. I think the pies and cider donuts are made there, but there are a lot of jams, jellies, dip mixes, and more from other vendors. I was pleasantly surprised to see Seaquist Orchards products from Door County! Stade's closes promptly at 6pm and everyone leaves pretty quickly. My boyfriend and I had a lot of fun here. Stade's Farm & Market is a nice place to visit, they have vegetable picking, berry picking, flower picking and apple picking. There's also plenty of fun play areas for kids. The marketplace is also pretty big - there's a variety of fall decor and produce inside available for purchase. I don't like that Stade's charges $10 PER ADULT just to enter the apple orchard as a guest - it's a requirement to pay $10 minimum just to enter the apple orchard even if you're not picking any apples which I thought was a cheap move and pretty ridiculous- what if a couple doesn't need more than one $10 bag of apples? Overall, it's a fine farm but really nothing that special, there are better farms out there to visit like Goebberts. read more

We went there a little after 1pm on a Thursday afternoon, it wasn't too busy at all! There's no admission fee. But there is a $6 minimum purchase per person required to enter the Pick-Your-Own area. You must pick using the containers that they provide. With that you get either raspberries, tomatoes, egg plants, snap peas, green beans and many more. Stade's has over three acres of these raspberries! This is considered late picking season for the raspberries, it was kinda slim picking but we managed to picked a pint of them and it was so sweet! We came on a weekday afternoon for strawberry picking mid-June and there were an average number of people there (not too crowded but not empty). Each person above 2 years old must spend at least $6 to pick strawberries (1 quart = $6, 2 quarts = $12, 4 quarts = $18). We decided to go with a 4 quart basket. There were many strawberries that weren't ripe enough for picking but when we looked carefully enough there were still plenty of ripe strawberries. We spent ~1 hour picking strawberries and the 4 quart basket lasted us a week of strawberries. The strawberries are fresh and sweet. We shared them with my parents and they commented that they taste different from store bought strawberries (in a good way). Although the strawberries seemed to have shrank towards the end of the week. There is food available for purchase but it's on the pricier side. We couldn't help but purchase some strawberry slushies and strawberry and apple donuts. The slushies were refreshing since it was so hot outside. I came here with friends for apple picking on Saturday afternoon. The parking lot gets packed quickly so it may be best to come earlier (prior to the afternoon). No worries if you don't get here early..just be prepared to walk more to get to your car and to the apple trees. Pros -lots of apple trees to choose from for a variety of apples (we came in early Oct) -options to pick a variety of fruits, veggies and/or flowers (the sunflowers that day were soo pretty -helpful sign that displays the whether the items available for picking is good, poor etc -yummy kettle popcorn that is freshly made available for purchas-backdrop areas (ie. Background were fresh ) photos with benches on our walk to the apple trees -carts/wheelbarrow available for use (no cost) if you have a large amount of fruit/veggies etc to carry. This option worked well for my friends and I as we had lots of apples and it prevents us from losing any apples along the way -fresh food available for purchase (smells soo good)..didn't get to try as we had dinner plans but would try next time! -the market has plenty of items to purchase from Apple cider donuts, fresh farm vegetables, gifts and more -friendly and helpful staff Cons -If you need to use the restroom, the only option is porter potty (some are cleaner/dirtier than others). Why fix something that isn't broken? Costs? It seems the donuts are expensive already. I mark my calendar every year to take the journey to Stade's Farm for their strawberry donuts (seasonal). They have changed. The frosting on the donuts are not strawberry, just a glaze. They are in plastic containers and made ahead of time. They are still good, but not great. We like to visit Stade's Farm and give them business because I believe in farms and the fun of "you pick," etc. The cinnamon rolls are to die for! The strawberries, once you eat them you never want to buy at a supermarket again. I love browsing all around and buying unique sauces, etc. I found a sauce I have been searching for! read more

No matter how busy it gets here it is never crowded because the size of the property and variety of activities is so vast. So many attractions catered to young toddlers who are typically left out and their farm store is incredible. This spot was supposed to be a cool experience but unfortunately left feeling overcharged and underwhelmed. We visited on a Saturday and it was busy which was expected. The entire farm was busy, including the inside market. Each person must pay $10 to get in so we figured we would do a $30 peck. It was stinky during the hike to get there from the rotting fruits and veggies around. The apples were good and mostly easy to pick and find. After picking for a while we decided to head inside to check out the market. To our surprise a peck was being sold for $10-20. We would have just bought this instead if we knew! Every thing in the shop was pretty overpriced. You can 100% find a you-pick/ local grown apples elsewhere for much lower prices. Cider donuts were not too great, you can get better ones elsewhere & for a better price. The cider slush was good but again, overpriced. Not a great deal, better places to spend your $, seems to be a tourist trap unfortunately. read more

I just spent the afternoon here with a group of 10 people and we all had an absolute blast! This weekend was the Honeycrisp weekend, so bags were an extra $2 each ($8 for 1/4 peck, $15 for 1/2 peck and so on), but the apples were HUGE and totally worth it. I liked that there was a tractor that takes you from the produce picking payment stand to where the apples are, especially since it was so muddy! There were plenty of good ones left at the end of each aisle. There are plenty of produce options to pick through the year, and I definitely look forward to returning to pick beans and peppers next year, however, member of the group opted to pick raspberries, and he couldn't even find enough to fill his little box, which was kind of a rip off. Then we headed the The Farm Market is reasonably sized and offers all of your typical farm favorites from jellies and jams, to dried soup mixes and sweet corn (and apple cider donuts, duh). The jams are very reasonable priced at under $4. The produce was probably some of the best produce I've seen in YEARS. From there we went to scope out the drinks and eats and the vintage car show that was happening this weekend. Tons of quick "farm" bites such as hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and soft pretzels. Kettle corn for DAAAYS, lemonade, cider and pumpkin spiced lattes. There was decent live music, and those who ordered food enjoyed it. The "attractions" area is definitely better suited for those under 10, so we skipped that part. No indoor restrooms, but the pot-a-potties are the kind the flush with toilet seat sanitizer and hand sanitizer inside of the stalls with hand washing stations outside. Ample parking and plenty of tables and chairs to eat at if your with your family or a large group. Can't wait for next year! read more

Came here with my friend to pick some yummy blueberries after our other go to place closed for the season, ending up picking almost the entire farm. We picked all sorts of veggies too. Tried picking raspberries but they were so limited and difficult to pick so I gave up on it. After picking for about 2-4 hours, we decided he had enough exercise for the day. It's mostly walking to your destination of picking, so bring things for the weather - cold water bottles, wear sunscreen, wear a hat, sunglasses etc. they also have metal wagons to help you carry your selections. After our picking we decided to get one of their delicious, refreshing strawberry lemonade smoothies. Do recommend you try as they are made from their limited strawberries in season. Also bought some yummy blueberries donuts but they also have limited strawberry ones too! Wished they had bulk strawberry smoothie containers one can buy because I really liked that one. We have been here twice this year, once to pick apples and once to choose pumpkins. Both times, they were crazy busy. Waiting in line to get your apple bag is to be expected. But this place is generally well run. I am going to type the most stunning piece of information I have written in all my time on Yelp. Pay Attention. *The Port-a-potties are so clean, I was able to recommend to my wife that she use one, and she happily agreed with me afterwards.* Seriously I never want to use one, and I don't usually have to sit down in one. But these were fine. Anyway, apples were pretty good quality when we went, although we had to search for ones without bugs or spoiling, but that may have just been timing. Pumpkins were all in good shape, even though it had rained quite a bit early in the week. And we lucked out that mud was not bad. The store was pretty great, lots of treats to try. Apple pie was great, pecan pie was great, etc. The kids area seems over-priced, but there is quite a bit for the kiddos there. Lots of rides, activities, animals to pet and feed. There were a couple issues like needing a fence around the train of carts pulled around the center of the play area, but these were minor. You will wear out your kids for sure. Too bad you have to pay for adults to go in, but they are probably needing income in these rough economic times. Finally the hot food items are pretty great too. They ran out of all barbecued meats the first day we went and we couldn't try them, but the second time they were good. Fresh dipped corn dogs were excellent. I liked the kettle corn.
