I don't even know where to begin with this review. I don't usually write reviews but I felt that I had to for Tommy because he's very friendly, thorough and professional with his work. This is my first home inspection and I didn't know what to expect going into it. He makes sure you know everything you need to know before he leaves when he's finished with the inspection and if you ever have any questions afterward, he's willing to go over them with you again even after it's done. I didn't expect much from the inspection since I have no experience looking at homes but what I gained from it was so much more than I asked for. During the inspection, I felt like I was taking a lesson on how to become a home inspector myself! That's how detailed Tommy was. He prepares his report with a quick turnaround time with everything explained during the verbal report and sends both pdf and hard copies to you (pictures taken during the inspection are also included). We are very happy we went with Tommy from Homespectors for our recent home inspection. I have been through 2 other inspections. While none were bad, Tommy was the most thorough of them all. We spent over 2.5 hours going through every part of the house including crawl space etc... Tommy took pictures and summarized everything in a detailed report which he sent to me the next evening. Tommy was GREAT! I rarely write reviews but he did such a wonderful job inspecting our home, I felt the need to praise his work, since I found him through yelp, and the simplicity of his website did have me wondering (hope he finds someone to help update his website to match his profesionalism and amazing work). I compared Yelp to Angies List to BBB to various Home Inspector certification sites and emailed three home inspectors (have been told anything related to houses - get three quotes). I also googled "what to look for in a home inspector" and "what to ask." Tommy responded quickly with thought out responses to my questions. Though he was slightly more than the other home inspectors I had emailed, his email response already showed drastic quality difference, and for a home inspector, you want someone detailed, especially in writing reports. He arrived to our home on time, allowed both my partner and I to follow him the entire time (one of the questions I asked in the email and something google said is a red flag if a home inspector does not want you present). He spent 3 quality hours explaining what he was looking at to us and taking photos for his amazing binder he mails you immediately (really every step he blew us away). He looked at our roof (its amazing how much you can see from the street level), gutters, windows, foundation, driveway, deck, how rain water flowed around the house, checked for signs of termites, tested every outlet in the house, checked the dates / maintenance records for the ac unit, furnance, and water cooler, went in the garage, attic, and crawlspace, and of course walking around the interior of the house (checking that it was level, any signs of water damage / mold, and etc). Tommy, my main man Tommy. I don't think i'll be able to scratch the surface on how important Tommy and Home Spector Inc was in my house hunt. Tommy was able to make a huge exception for me, which I don't want to disclose, but made it out to our appointment early and was ready to go. He explained everything perfectly before we got started and made sure that we understood all aspects of the home inspection we were going to receive that day. As he started, he insisted we walk around with him so he could show us every single detail in the home that we should know about (since we are first time home buyers). He answered every question we had, showed us all the necessary things around the home, and how to access and use them. There was even a tiny crawl space in the basement that he crawled as far as he could into, so he could see how the foundation looked from the inside (since the outside had some minor cracks in it). Within 24 hours I had a full comprehensive report emailed to me that included a general summary, and a full table of contents with every individual part of the home. It's unbelievable how detailed this report was, and the best part was a picture of what he was explaining accompanied each part of this report. Wow! The absolute most impressive part of this inspection process with Home Spector Inc was days after the inspection. We received a package from Tommy as a first time home buyer, while i'll spare the details of the package, I was EXTREMELY impressed with it.
