i have already seen several complaints about this place . I rented a home and i am in the process of a claim i have pictures of how dirty the hone was when i reached out i was called a liar. I asked if he wanted to face time so that he could see that it was all true. I can not discuss the legal procedure i was not looking for any money or anything other than an apology I am going to keep on posting until i hear something . Once the claim is done i will make my pictures public . Homestead Realty of Orlando is by far the worst property management company I have ever encountered. Marissa Valle is completely unprofessional and the owner that she was representing has no clue that she doesn't know what she is doing. She has no knowledge of Landlord/Tenant Laws or the very lease that she signs with you. I rented from them for one full lease and would tell anyone to please STAY AWAY from this Management company. They are money hungry and will keep your deposit no matter what you do. I attached a walk in inspection when I moved in and they STILL CHARGED me for things that were on that list. If you are looking to rent a townhouse in the Lake Nona area, Kissimmee area, or any other areas in Orlando, DO NOT entertain a lease with this company because they are very unprofessional! Listen to what all of these other reviews are saying. I wish I had listened, but I intend to contest the claim against my $3000 deposit, of which they took all of it and still charged me even more money. People like this should not be in business. Marissa is very judgmental of people and is most rude when you disagree with her. I quoted the very lease she gave me and she was still disagreeing with what was right in front of her. She will say one thing and do something totally different when it comes to her trying to keep her job. She even put it in writing about what I was supposed to pay and when I paid that, they said it was the wrong amount. She never owned up to it with the owner of the property that she told me the amount to pay. At the end of the day, they charged me well over $100 for their error. Then, they delivered a townhouse that looked okay until I started living in it. They didn't clean the apartment, they didn't paint the apartment, nor did they clean the carpet, but charged me quite a bit out of my deposit for these items. I am taking them to court, I am contacting Better Business and will use whatever media outlet I can to make sure that nobody does business with them! Rented for one year with Linda Jaramillo as the agent. Linda Jaramillo has to be one of the most unprofessional agents you could work with. Linda does not respond to calls, messages, or texts in a timely manner if she responds at all. The house we rented was very poorly maintained by this company. The yard, interior, and exterior looked to have little or no maintenance done. Upon moving in most of the house needed cleaning from myself. I had to replace the stove drip pans which were dirty. The master shower had mildew, and the master bedroom had a mildew smell. The ceiling fans throughout the house were covered in dust. After leaving the house we were told that we would receive the security deposit within 15 days, but received a letter with a list of charges for repair. Linda and Homestead Realty listed dirty ceiling fan cleaning and shower mildew cleaning for $85, light bulb replacing for $20, stove drip pan replacement for $35, and a light replacement which was working when we left along with attaching a shelf for $100. The claims and charges are outrageous. I knew this company would try to get as much of the deposit as they could. I did a walk through with Linda Jaramillo before leaving, and she stated she saw nothing that needed to be repaired or done before we left. I've worked with Homestead Realty for many years now. I am a landlord who live out of state in NY & I originally chose Homestead in Orlando, Fl. for their competitive rates to manage multiple properties. They've managed up to five of my properties at the same time and currently (2018) are managing three. I am very satisfied with the management service & skills that they provide for me. I've met all of them & they are a friendly & professional team. Marissa McClung is my property manager. I have to hand it to her for dealing with me, as I am very involved with the management & maintenance of my properties. This woman goes out of her way beyond normal to satisfy all my needs. She is easily accessible & is extremely prompt in answering my texts, emails, phone calls, etc. She loves her job & is very professional. Homestead also has a great maintenance crew to do repairs and other services necessary for maintaining the properties. They are very prompt, courteous, fair priced, when called upon to do the work and they do a great job. Marissa has assisted me with getting quotes for some very large jobs, making my life easier as an out of state landlord. Homestead does a thorough job screening applicants for rentals, easing the tension involved with that process. I've had excellent tenants both past & present. I am amazed at the negative reviews I've read. They seem unwarranted and uncharacteristic of the people I know to be honest and fair. I am writing today to set things straight. I've dealt with other management companies and have been ripped off by money hungry managers who spend your money frivolously and then don't actually do the work! I've been burned a couple of times already by companies that are supposed to be rated A+. I can honestly say Homestead is nothing like this. They are a fair and balanced management company for both landlord and tenant. I can rest easy knowing my properties are in the hands of Homestead Realty and my amazing manager Marissa McClung. I wish I knew then, what I know now about this company. Had I known, I would have not done business with this realty company. Linda is useless. Doesn't return phone calls. Coincidentally, every time I tried to contact her at office or on her cell, she can not be reached. You would think, if you are occupying one of their properties, they would want to have communication with you. Not the case I guess. I had several issues unresolved.
