It wasn't just about walking around--we were actually engaging with different spots, completing challenges, and discovering places in a whole new way. One of the highlights was getting to sample bites from a variety of restaurants along the way. Bulla Gastrobar definitely stood out with its flavorful Spanish-inspired offerings, and it was a treat getting to try something from their menu in the middle of all the action. We also stopped by GameTime, where the arcade energy added a playful break to the night--games, lights, and a great atmosphere made it hard to leave!

It is a family friendly environment with a play area and seasonal photo area where they usually have decorations and a character to take pictures with. In this mall, there are NO SPEED BUMPS, and idiots literally fly by all over the mall, right where there are many people crossing, on the sidewalks, and on the parking lots. At night, groups actually gather in their trucks and race type cars and race up and down and all around. Plus, many times they do donuts, burning tires and smoke takes over the area. Shocking!!!! This is a case for the police, because mall security guards have limited authority on what they can enforce. We've asked them why there are no speed bumps, and I'm sure that if the security guards had a choice, they would. But, that must be the mall's decision and responsibility. They're probably just waiting for someone to get run over before they finally take action. It's unfortunate, because in terms of size and stores and restaurants selection, it is the best in Homestead. Now, there's even a Target and Sprouts...nice. But, is it worth putting your life at risk?

Southland Mall could use a face-lift, this mall is old and feel like granny style decor. And in my opinion adding more lighting and exposure to nature (sky ceiling windows) would increase the level of wanting to spend more time there. The food court should also be reinvented. They need more choices in ethnic foods which would be current with our times.

The small stores where all playing Tex Mex music and the locals where in strolling by. We stopped in our first store run by a non native of south Florida and he did have a good selection of boots, the cheapest was $ 135.00 for boots you can order on Sheplers for $ 50.00 plus shipping. I was enraged because the locals are poor people, I saw a dress on a store front that was listed at $ 69.00 that you can go to Macy's and find it for half the price. I just think that these vendors are ripping the local's off. They just don't know any better. I was mad as heck when a store clerk responded to my questions as to why the price is so high. "Because we bring these in from Mexico". I have been to Mexico and if I remember there leather is way cheaper then here in the US. You can have a custom fit boot for $ 60.00. Being a discount store, not every product is kept on hand all the time.
