I'm a curious person, so I asked LOTS of questions throughout the inspection and Andy was very generous and patient in explaining his inspection to me. He is knowledgeable about Pittsburgh-area homes and what to look for based on the time period in which a home was built. Our home was built in the early 1900's and he talked us through how our basement and home structure was a product of that era and what we could do to best maintain it. His inspection was thorough and we received a well-organized, detailed report on the home within about two days. Many simple things which we should've been made aware of such as NO smoke detectors ( what an awful safety issue ) . Horrible wiring panel ( not just rust that he said but NOT up to code once so ever ) . Mold that was missed. Please consider finding a different inspector if you want true answers. Code says you can not pass a 4 inch diameter sphere through the openings. The mesh I used is 1 7/8 x 3 7/8 inch wire opening. The wire gauge is 1/4 diameter. This is heavy duty stuff the railing going up to my second floor he's throwing a 2018 code out at it saying it doesn't comply. The house is built in 2004 I'm very skeptical about this place
