We stayed here less than 3 years later to A/C units that don't work properly, towels with holes in them, sheets falling apart, and mold on the ceiling of the 1st floor room. The A/C units are not on when the rooms are not in use which causes the rooms to smell since there's no air circulation, plus causes the mold in the rooms due to the humidity, and just makes for an incredible uncomfortable and disgusting stay when nothing is on upon entering a room. We did ask to be moved away from the leaking AC unit. We spent maybe 20 minutes in the room when we realized the floor was very wet. The second room was only better because the AC unit didn't leak, but there was mold in the upper corner of the room where the above AC unit must have been placed and leaked thru the ceiling. We were given 2 body towels, both of which had huge holes in them, and the sheet on the bed had holes in it as well. We were fortunate to not stay in a room that had bed bugs as I see from other reviews. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful place to stay. Save yourself the headache and book in Decatur.

I never sleep well the first night in a hotel, but I did at this one! My only "complaint" is that the TV in the room is quite small (I think 32"). We walked into the bedroom, past a rickety extra bed in the open area to find yet more bugs in the bed under the smelly wrinkled sheets. The bathroom fixtures were worn and dirty like all the appliances and fixtures throughout the unit. I called to complain and inform someone that we would not be staying but was only able to leave a message. I was never contacted by the staff to address the problem. I called RCI to complain and get a refund, which they were helpful and refunded my points and exchange cost. Unfortunately, I still ended up with unexpected hotel expenses for a week stay and did not get to enjoy the vacation I was expecting at a nice resort. I feel the Resort owners should pay for my unexpected expenses and RCI should inspect locations before placing them on their inventory for its members as I trust the location they offer would meet certain basic standards of safety, cleanliness and quality.

I've heard horror stories about other pet friendly hotels and how horrible it was but we didn't want to keep our dog outside in the car so we read reviews online and opted with La Quinta. We reserved a room ahead of time and upon arrival I was pretty impressed at how dusted and clean the room was! Definitely will continue to stay at other La Quintas and be a long time customer! Only downfall was the blankets on the bed was pretty thin, and there was a bleach smell in the bathroom, but that's how you know they actually took the time to clean it. On another note, the customer service there was pretty good! We got greeted a good morning and there were smiles from all of the employees! A big plus! We were in a rush to leave so we couldn't check out the breakfast bar. I'm sure it was good, considering the price it is for a night there. Can't beat that! I'd say La Quinta is a pretty good pet friendly hotel. Big tip: Reserve ahead of time so they take the time to clean your room.

We spoke with the hotel and were told we would receive 50% off our stay within 7 days, but it never happened. We called again and were told the discount would be applied, but it still wasn't. The lobby looks decent when you first walk in, but once you get past that, the hotel is super rundown. We saw dead bugs, a lot of areas were dirty, and the ice machines weren't working on two different floors. Between the flooded room, the condition of the hotel, and how everything was handled afterward, we were disappointed with the customer service and the overall experience.

I recently stayed at this IHG owned hotel while my father was in the hospital. I checked in around…read more5-6am after not getting any sleep for 3 days due to the fact that I had been sitting with my dad and I'm a light sleeper. So, I decided that in order to get some sleep I needed to go check-in to a nearby hotel, Candlewood Suites being the closest since I was walking from the hospital. For some reason, the guy who checked me in required assistance from someone on the phone several times and it took a while to get a room. After getting the receipt, I noticed the rate for one day was higher than I was quoted, I asked about it and the guy said that's what it is. I just wanted to get some sleep, so I signed it, got my room key card and headed towards my room. I stopped in the little store area to see what kind of soft drinks were available, almost nothing that I liked was available, most of the drinks were of the "diet" flavor, which to me is absolutely disgusting. I asked the guy at the front desk if there were any non-"diet" drinks, he said that's all they had. Oh well, I guess I will just drink water then, so I continued to go back to my room. Upon entering the room, I turned the light on by the door and it's flickering due to a bulb going out, not a big deal but a little annoying. As I got settled into bed, the air conditioner came on and it made some high pitched squeaking sounds. I called up to the front desk and the guy who checked me in said that he couldn't do anything tonight and I would have to wait until the morning. (Why didn't he just give me another room?) The next day I get up and go to the hospital to see my dad, when I came back later that evening, the light and the AC unit hadn't been fixed. At this point, I'm getting sorta frustrated by the lack of care or concern for my situation. I also noticed other issues like the TV remote wasn't working after hitting the power button a number of times and the TV stand was broken, which caused the TV to tilt forward. (Super easy to fix the TV stand with some strong glue, but I don't think they care.) After the next night, I picked up the manager's card at the front desk on my way out to get some breakfast and go see my dad at the hospital. On the way up there, I called the manager (Erick), he said he would go to my room and get everything fixed, but when he called back, he said the light, AC and TV were working fine. He did say he was going to fix the extra charge for the room, since I was quoted a different rate, but when I said that I might stay a few more nights, he said that the rate would be higher. I told Erick that the flickering light and AC were not "fine", I know that the AC normally doesn't make those high pitched squeaking sounds and there is no way the light flickering is acceptable. He seemed like he was more concerned about having to fix the light and stuff than making sure the guest has a comfortable stay at the hotel. Additionally, Erick was very condescending when it came to the TV issues, saying he would leave the TV on, so he can "prove" to me that the TV worked fine, saying he would leave two remotes. All I really cared about was the light and the AC issues, but I kept finding other problems when they didn't fix these things the first time I called. Once I got back to the hotel later on the second day, I get back to my room and turn on the light, it seems whoever "fixed" the light put a different type of bulb into the fixture resulting in one warm light bulb and one cool light bulb. They also didn't put the diffuser cover back on, so the difference was much more noticeable. They left the cover and tools on top of the kitchen cabinets. Then I went to check the AC unit, but instead of fixing it, they just turned the thermostat temperature up, so the AC would come on less? I turned down the temperature and the AC comes on with the same squeaking noise, at this point I'm beyond frustrated. Why didn't Erick call back to tell me the AC wasn't fixed? Why didn't he call back to suggest moving to another room? He mentioned it earlier but said he would try to "fix" things first. He did not "fix" anything but the TV, which I promptly turned off since I don't really watch TV and wanted to get some sleep. I turned off the mismatched light and hopped into bed, and something I didn't notice before was the light outside my room window by the pool is also flickering. (I wonder if they just switched the bulbs with the one in my room?)

BEWARE!! BEDBUG INFESTATION! We went to Nocona this past…read moreweekend to have my husband's memorial. We booked 2 rooms for Saturday night. When we checked into the Veranda Inn, everything appeared clean. We all went to sleep until 5:30 am when my children called me to tell me that there were bugs all over their beds. This was in Room 126. I went and picked up one of the bugs to take to reception. They agreed that it was a bed bug and said Monday morning the regular desk person would give me a refund. She swore that in the year she'd been there they had never had an issue like that before. Based on the fact that the mattresses were in zippered bags and there were tiny bed bugs and big bed bugs I doubted that was true but I let it go. I went and gathered our things to inspect them and placed our luggage in trash bags. We left at 7:30 am unshowered and exhausted. I didn't cause a scene and left thinking they were going to handle things. Instead on Monday I had to call them at 2 to ask what was going on and the receptionist said that they weren't going to give me a refund since they weren't going to charge me a $500 fee for smoking in the room. A blatant lie and the cameras can show him going outside to smoke. He refuses to throw his cigarette butts on the ground and instead brought them inside to the trash can.
