I travel for work and I've been to some bad places but this is up there in the department of offensive experiences in terms of modern conveniences. I don't want to sound dramatic but when I go to long term stay accommodation places there are certain expectation I uphold and one of them is a working functioning washer and dryer. When I found out the dryer was out of order I asked if there was another on premises. I was told no, I kind of debriefed her and asked if this was an extended stay hotel! She replied yes. Then I said why is it that you only have ONE washer and dryer on site for over 200 rooms? She did not know which means I have to NOW go OFFSITE and find a Laundromat and do it there. I was not happy. She apologized ( I wasn't rude but standoffish to the point I was driving home) To continue my drama... the rest of the evening goes like this. I Yelped the location of the laundromat, find out there is only one in the 10 mile area... I hurriedly zoom to the place & secured two washing machines then something tells me I need to check the change machine before I unpack. GASP... No change... I collect my stuff and head back to the car towards Walmart which should be able to accommodate. I get there, go in, head to the service desk. They do NOT give change... UGH! But the manager was nice enough to share with me that there was a car wash port next door and I could probably scrounge up some change there. Bingo! Brilliant! I thanked her and off I went. Got the change headed back to the Laundromat, unloaded my clothes put the change in only to find out that I forgot to pack my laundry pods. I just stood there, dumbfounded... I couldn't do anything but laugh... What is god trying to tell me??? I asked the fella next to me who's using the same detergent I do if I could get two swirls of detergent. He was happy to do so... Finally, two hours of this I head back to the hotel room. Put on the game and nodded off to sleep. Some days are just what they are silly and insane. Chalk it up to travelers miscues. And then move on! Lol

We watched it be built, then moved out of Bridgeport and came to visit. We stayed here less than 3 years later to A/C units that don't work properly, towels with holes in them, sheets falling apart, and mold on the ceiling of the 1st floor room. The A/C units are not on when the rooms are not in use which causes the rooms to smell since there's no air circulation, plus causes the mold in the rooms due to the humidity, and just makes for an incredible uncomfortable and disgusting stay when nothing is on upon entering a room. We did ask to be moved away from the leaking AC unit. We spent maybe 20 minutes in the room when we realized the floor was very wet. The second room was only better because the AC unit didn't leak, but there was mold in the upper corner of the room where the above AC unit must have been placed and leaked thru the ceiling. We were given 2 body towels, both of which had huge holes in them, and the sheet on the bed had holes in it as well. We were fortunate to not stay in a room that had bed bugs as I see from other reviews. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful place to stay. Save yourself the headache and book in Decatur.

When I finally was able to get my money back, they still had a horrible attitude, and when I followed up the next day associate told me "oh that shouldn't be happening because we have new mattresses and some of our rooms and they should be good now from the last time we had bedbugs" my far away from this place. I'm glad we never got in the bed and only switched clothes for the event noticed and left immediately.

Entering into the lobby, I got a true appreciation for the restoration that was recently done bringing the hotel back to its 1920's luster. Beautiful woods and tiles, artifacts from the original grandeur, and of course, Crazy Water! I enjoyed my stroll through the lobby and in The Crazy Water Pavillion, also on the lobby level of the hotel. Today there was a market going on and the Pavillion was filled with an energy that seemed to blend with the energy of the building itself!

Met a guy on the elevator who was getting a second room bc his has no a/c. Went to our room and sure enough the a/c didn't work and ants all over the window. Second room- immediately removed several pillowcases bc of hair and other debris. Water and other damage all over- ceiling, walls, lampshades. Bathroom sink pipe is detached and water just runs out and onto floor. Tried to run hot water through coffee pot and old coffee grounds still in there. I actually pulled off bed sheets to make sure it was acceptable just so we can get a nights sleep. My child had to sleep with me bc the pull out mattress looked like it had been picked up from a dumpster. NASTY Only a few of the lamps works and none of overhead lights. Reached behind nightstand to check plug- mistake! Arm covered in cobwebs.

The hotel itself is very basic in its offerings but very clean, seems to be well maintained and was quiet. My king room was very clean (and I'm picky), and it was convenient to have a mini-fridge and microwave. The bed was extremely comfortable! I never sleep well the first night in a hotel, but I did at this one! My only "complaint" is that the TV in the room is quite small (I think 32"). Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and I'll be staying here for future visits.

It has two huge indentations from people sleeping on it. It's so soft we both woke up with back aches and had a hard time sleeping because you can't roll over very easily. There isn't an office to walk into if you need anything either. There is The Grille on the property, but they are not always open. I'm afraid we would not stay here again especially because of the poor quality of the bed. We paid summer rates also which were pricey for this property.
