My complaint with Beltway Builders, Inc. follows: 1. DFriia…read more(contractor for Beltway) mispresented (to me) the extent of damage by insisting that State Farm would replace all siding on the 'entire' house. There was no need to replace all siding on the entire house. (See attached pictures of 2 locations of minor siding damage). 2. No physical repairs to the property were made for 5 months (from 9/05/24 to 1/27/25) due to a complete lack of and many delays in communication, miscommunications with State Farm, and incompetence with handling the claim. A second appraisal from State Farm was never successfully arranged and never scheduled with a definite date. The first State Farm estimate was an accurate description of the cost of damage repair at $562.09. 3. After 5 months from the start of this contract (9/05/24 to 1/27/25) when BBI/410-Adjuster could not give me a 'definite' date for the second State Farm appraisal, I repaired the minor damage to prevent further damage to my house for $380.00. 4. The actual repair costs for the siding damage to my house which totaled $380.00 proves DFriia (working as the contractor for Beltway Builders, Inc.) grossly exaggerated the damage estimate as $24,329.43 in an attempt to fraud the State Farm Insurance Company. 5. DFriia concocted an exaggerated estimate of damage meant to 'defraud' State Farm . 6. Beltway Builders, Inc. refused to refund my deposit of $2450.00 although no physical repairs were ever performed on my house due to excessive delays of 5 months from the incompetence and mishandling of the State Farm claim by Beltway Builders, Inc. Further, I had been told by DFriia I would be able to obtain my complete deposit refund if State Farm would not agree to the Beltway Builders Inc. appraisal. The State Farm damage appraisal of $562.09 never approached the grossly inflated damage estimate by BBI of $24,329.43. 7. BBI never refunded my deposit of $2450, stating I had cancelled a State Farm appraisal when there was never a definite date given for the (second) State Farm appraisal. Then DFrii told me I owed $4000 in expenses! For what??? 8. The Beltway Builders, Inc. damage appraisal was grossly exaggerated to a number 64x higher than the State Farm damage appraisal exhibiting not only the extreme excessiveness of that number but how completely exorbitant and irrational to the point of absurdity was their estimate...meant only to purposefully defraud the customer as well as the State Farm Insurance Company. Siding on one side of the house was peeling off only on the edge at a depth of 1 inch for a length of 5 ft . Siding on opposite side of the house was peeling only for one siding piece on the edge at a depth of 1 inch for a length of 6 in. No repairs were ever performed by Beltway because through their incompetence could not arrange a (second) appraisal from the insurance company FOR 5 MONTHS. State Farm had estimated the damage with an appraisal at $562.09. Additionally, Beltway gave me a grossly exaggerated 'estimate' of the damage of $24,329.43. Then the contractor told me he had incurred fees of $4000....for what? No repairs were ever performed. After 5 months, I finally had to get the siding myself at a cost of $380.00 due to leakage of rain/snow which would further damage the house. If this isn't an attempt to defraud an insurance company by Beltway...I don't know what is. I had deposited $2450 with company...they refused to give me a refund stating I 'cancelled' a 'second' State Farm appraisal...I never cancelled any appraisal...when I asked for a 'definite' date of the 'second' State Farm appraisal...I could not get any information or an assigned date. Another ploy of delay. This is obviously an example of an attempt by Beltway Builders to not only deceive the customer with inflated and grossly exaggerated estimates of damage but also intended to defraud the insurance company. Beltway will then refuse to return your deposit when the insurance company refuses to pay out such a totally ridiculous/outrageous/exorbitant estimate and then imply you owe them $4000 in fees.

You can't even tell that anything was patched. Will definitely reach out to Beltway Builders again, for anything I need.

However, nothing worked so he came the next day and brought a new hydraulic brake for the storm door. Chris tried hard to not have to replace the existing brake, but in the end, it had to be replaced. I can't say enough good things about Chris. He genuinely wants to help you without having you spend a lot of money. I really appreciate that. It's rare to find someone who would rather help you for free over the phone than to have you spend money if possible. That speaks volumes about Chris. He is very knowledgeable about the structure of your home being a contractor. He is highly skilled, very friendly and very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use Chris again and again for all my handyman needs. He is reliable, on time and will try to save you money whenever he can. I highly recommend Chris for any handyman work. He'll get the job done right at a great price.

WOW! What a GREAT discovery! This business - Quality Building Concepts (Mr. Charlie Naylor and his…read moretwo sons) - is fantastic! Seriously! We've been looking for a good handyman for years and years now with so many mess ups and so much frustration. If you've ever needed a handyman you know what I mean. Well we have found our man! Finally! Mr. Charlie Naylor is SUPERB. I read the rave reviews here on this website so gave him a call. ~ He showed up THE NEXT DAY to give us an estimate! And then - ~ He emailed an *extremely* fair, extremely affordable estimate TEN MINUTES AFTER HE LEFT OUR HOUSE! And then - ~ He came to do the work THE VERY NEXT DAY! And then - ~ He worked SO fast, and so cleanly, and so efficiently - that what could easily have been several full day's work was completed in 3 hours! And - ~ He is SO polite! ~ He listens so respectfully and carefully to what we want and how we want it done. ~ He leaves everything he touches "better than it was before he got there" (that's how he does business, he says.) ~ He showed up ten minutes early to begin the outside work without disturbing us. ~ He returns texts and phone calls as soon as he can get his hands free, so you're always able to reach him. ~ He has decades of experience and owns every possible tool and material needed for: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, drywall, indoor and outdoor painting, windows, doors, fence repair - EVERYTHING. If you need work done - any job big or small - you are a lucky person. You can call Mr. Charlie Naylor! Hands down the best handyman you could possibly find. Email me - I'm a real person, just a Crofton homeowner in an older house needing all sorts of repair. We're going to use Quality Building Concepts to help us with a thousand small and large jobs that have been nagging us for years. We're thrilled! Thanks so much to all who took the trouble to review him on NextDoor.com - that's where we found him, and we never would have found him otherwise because he does not, and has never, advertised. All his work (he's been doing this all his life) comes to him 100% through word-of-mouth referrals. Because once people find him, they become customers for life. He's great.

Extremely disappointed with the services provided and the disingenuous pricing of the work. I…read morerequested assistance with repairing a leaking sliding glass door and fixing a small hole (1.5" x 1.5") in my garage siding. I was quoted $450- $550 to fix the sliding door, and the siding repair was not included in the estimate. The repairman did not attempt to recreate the leak for the sliding door and suggested either caulking a small gap that might be the issue or replacing the entire door assembly. I said I would take care of caulking the door because I needed to clean the surfaces beforehand. We spent about 5 minutes addressing this. We then moved to the hole in the garage siding. Initially, the repairman asked if I wanted him to caulk the hole. Caulk seemed inappropriate for the repair, and I suggested using Bondo or something similar. He said he wouldn't be able to match the siding profile perfectly, but he could try. He also said he wasn't sure he could match the color, but he would take a paint chip to Lowe's to see what he could do. I understood the limitations and approved his attempt at the repair. I wish I hadn't; I would have been better off going to Lowe's, picking up some epoxy, and spending half an hour doing it myself. He said the paint chip he brought in wasn't big enough to color match, so he got a can of spray paint that looked close. I approved him to try it nonetheless and again, wish I hadn't. After finishing the job, the repairman gave me the invoice and said he came in at the low end of $450, which was confusing to me because that was the estimate for repairing the sliding door; we hadn't discussed an estimate for repairing the hole in the garage. I addressed this directly and was met with the response that "I have no control over the pricing, I just punch it in the computer, and it gives me a total." After including the cost of the spray paint and the credit card processing fee, the bill was $534.20 for a poorly executed repair of a 1.5" x 1.5" hole in some metal siding. That's absolutely insane. I would caution against using this company's services due to the poor workmanship and the predatory pricing. I tried calling to address this issue, but I couldn't reach anyone other than an AI phone agent.

We have had really good experiences with Mr. Handyman in the past. This time things were…read moredifferent. We scheduled for the deck to be power washed then a few weeks later to be stained. The power wash went well and pictures were taken of the completed job to have on file. It was explained to me that the pictures of the deck would assist the next technician to plan for the deck to be stained. When it was time for the deck to be stained, the technician arrived stating the job was not scheduled properly, the previous quote was incorrect and the job couldn't be completed on that day. After requesting time off from work, weeks in advance all I could do was approve the work for the time allotted. That resulted in 1/3 of the job (exterior deck) completed at the top of the price range. There seems to be a lack of communication amongst the team at Mr. Handyman, which leads to poor customer service. Now due to AI, it's very challenging trying to speak to a human to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, I'm looking into another company who has provided Great customer service consistently.
