Tim showed up on time for the estimate but just came to the decision that the front half of my roof would need to be replaced. He said whatever issue I'm having required some shingles to be removed and they won't do that unless they reinstall ALL of the shingles. All of this was decided by standing on the side walk, looking about three stories up, basically not seeing the true problem. Essentially, they're more interested in replacing than repairing. Which means more money for the company. Did he climb up to said roof to see the problem? No. Did he ask to see the interior where water is actually leaking? No. While this "estimate" only lasted about 5-10 minutes, was it a waste of both of our time? Yes. read more

I give them a 5. I would give more if I could. First, I must apologize for not writing this when I should, which was after Mike's visit to my roof a few weeks ago. No excuse, just too distracted. Mike came to my house, looked carefully at my 2 ceiling leaks, immediately hoisted up the ladder and climbed to the roof. He found the first leak source in about 20 seconds, climbed down the ladder, got a tube of silicon and squirted it into the hole, and then found the source of the 2nd leak, which was my chimney. He even did a little repair to that as well. Then, he refused to take any money since it "was nothing". Well, it was certainly something really big to me. I called to inquire about the estimate and was told that I would get it.....and never did. This was not the first time I've tried to get someone to work on my roof. Set another appointment, they no-showed AGAIN! I did not even receive the courtesy of a phone call to say they were going to no-show me again. Phil DiBello Family Roofing put a new roof on my house 3 years ago. During the storm that occurred on the night of June 14, 2021 the entire roof (the black rubberized covering) blew off of the house and onto the back yard fence, at the alley. They claimed that it was a tornado but there were only "anecdotal" references to a tornado. There was absolutely no report by any reputable weather service reporting that. Moreover, if there was a tornado my house was the only house hit in my area. There were no damages of that type anywhere else in my area. A few trees were down. Every other roofer that looked at it, said that the covering was not "fired" or "torched", sufficiently. The pictures that I took are unbelievable. They did not have to do anything to make me whole because it was 3 months past the 3 year time limit allowed to have a complaint allowed by the licensing body (MHIC). What a rip-off. read more

I asked them to come give me an estimate on some minor slate roofing repair work for a recent purchase. They told me I should have whoever did it come and repair since it should be under warranty, and if they worked on it it may void an existing warranty. I appreciated the honesty! Shyster, liar, company has no idea what they're doing and will ruin your home. This company did our roof wrong in so many ways. When we started to notice water damage on our ceiling, walls and floors and called the owner, he lied and said the installation was fine. He told us that the gap between the roof and soffit was supposed to be there, as that was the way the roof vented. We finally called a home inspector to look at it he confirm what we suspected. He said Water and ice Shield not overlap properly, no ventilation, no drip edge so there was a space between the wall and the roof, we're bugs and water we're getting in (water getting behind the walls and in the insulation), shingles where there should have been rubber roofing because the pitch was so low etc. etc. When faced with this information from a home inspector, he finally came out and agreed to do something. However he did not do what he needed to to fix the roof. Just tried to put a bandaid on it and look like he did something. He said he put rubber down but we found out later that was actually rolled Roofing. Of course we didn't find this out until we continue to have problems with water damage. We had to hire another company to pull the entire roof off including the wood sheathing and replace it. Because of the length of time this went on, we also had to pull out all the windows, walls and flooring Etc, and there was mold behind everything. Took the owner to court in Carroll County and he was found to be NEGLIGENT and lying on the stand. When backed into a corner by the attorney, he admitted to knowing that the roof was installed improperly from the beginning. We had given him numerous opportunities to make this right and every time he opted to take the cheap way out and be a shyster. The damage to our home inside was in excess of $50,000. Don't want to believe this review? It is easy enough to check Carroll County records as they are public information. Use Brothers Roofing instead!! They are phenomenal and highly accountable with their work. Can't say enough great things about them. Avoid dibello Roofing like the plague. I wish there was a zero star rating. Now they are mentioning this jerk on the radio like he's some honerable family roofing business?? Give me a break!! read more

I contacted them to repair a leaky skylight. They responded right away, gave me options for replacement, and had the work done within a week. They even sealed up a spot on my roof that I had not mentioned, and did it free of charge. I'm very happy with the work - the price was very reasonable and the results look great - the new skylight is much higher quality than the old one I had. I called Phil DiBello Family Roofing to replace my entire roof back in December 2018. Out of about 5 estimated, I decided to use this company because my neighbor across the street used them and had good results and his roof looked great. So I took a chance and used them too. The morning of the installation everything went well, they showed up on time, things went good. They had to come back the next day to finish up. they cleaned up very well. Two days later I just walked around the house and did a full visual inspection and notice that the small portion of roof above my basement door was not properly installed. So I called Michael Feihe, project manager, who assured me he will have someone come to fix the problem and he did. Two months later, we had a heavy rain and I was on my front porch and discovered that my front porch was leaking, so I called Michael again and once more he assured me that the problem would be taken care of, and it was. Now here we go again, March 2019 and I'm standing outside on my back deck and I looked up and saw that the roof is warped and it looks bad. It just don't look like a brand new roof was installed. So yes, by this time I'm a little teed off and I called Michael once more. He asked me to send him pictures which I did. But according to Michael, he couldn't retrieve the pictures from his iPhone 10, the most expensive phone on the planet but you couldn't retrieve pictures that I sent from my iPhone 7. So by this time I'm angry and felt taken advantage of by this company. Michael advised me to call the owner to discuss this problem, so I will. I'm very disappointed with this company and will not recommend this company to anyone who want a reliable roofing company, unless you don't mind spending all of your time discussing roofing problems that you shouldn't have with a brand new install. read more

The owner, Mr. DiBello, came to my house in Linthicum. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about my needs and the type of shingle he would recommend. I received a recommendation from 3 friends that had work done by his company and all gave him the best reviews. He arrived when the work was done and asked if I had any questions about the job and was I satisfied and I told him it 'could not have been done any better.' I've used DiBello in the past as was happy then but now not so much. Workers seem to be of South of The Boarder decent which disappointed me. When I was asking for an estimate for the lower roof only, I also asked to have someone look at the rest of the roof and tighten anything they might find. Guys came and went and the job they did looks nice and keeps the rain out but noone touched the rest of the roof. Language barrier maybe. I called and they said they would look at the roof when someone was in the nieghborhood, it's been weeks and I haven't seen a soul. I'll be climbing on the roof to do it myself I just know it. Lastly and more importantly were the nails left around the house, I picked up a few but must have missed one since it became buried in my youngest son's foot. Trip to Patient's First and a Tetanus shot later and I'm back outside to look around the yard. It's sad I only want to be able to call and trust a contractor but it doesn't look like I'm finding it at DiBello. read more

Updating my review of 1/4/2017. I got a call from the office person explaining that they were not responsible for what the insurance company pays nor can they make the insurance company honor their estimate, I understand that, my issue is with the process of how Phil A return calls. If he is only in the office briefly in the morning than he may need to return calls later in the evening or relay his message thru the office person. Their system of communication needs some work. On 1/4/2017 I got a call from the owner, he was very soft spoken, not angry or disrespectful in fact he was very humble in his tone. We talked about 40 min, he suggested other measures I could explore to get my roof paid for. I was very impressed that he would take time to address my less than pleasant experience and that his integrity as a honest business man was important to him. I now have to give them 4 stars as I am convinced that DiBello Roofing has done what ever they could do to help me despite the communication challenges I experienced. If I decide to get the roof repaired or torn down and an awning put up I will be calling on DiBello. Thank's for being a humble person and I hope you won't change. read more

An employee came out to do an estimate and he was rude to my parents. I received a written estimate that was expensive. Also the estimated time of rubberoid roof should have been longer than 10 years. I don't understand why my service was worse than someone that my brother knows. Phil DiBello Family Roofing did a great job siding my house. It looks really good, like a new house actually. Phil's men were very competent and helpful. They did extra things like installing the new outdoor lights I bought and covering over door jams so I wouldn't have to paint them. It was desperately hot out yet they came very day and worked long and hard. The project was started promptly and finished within the estimated time frame. That doesn't happen often with home improvement projects in my experience. The price was very competitive too which was a big deal to me. Phil was very reassuring when panic struck about my color choice and he helped me with my bee/wasp issue, ensuring that everything was sealed up against all such pesky things. I called about getting an estimate for a small job. When I got the reminder call, I repeated that my husband wanted to be home at the time of the estimate. I requested the last visit. The day of the estimate, the estimator called and made it clear that it was an inconvenience to come at 4. My husband left work eary in order to be here. The man looked at what we wanted him to do and told me it was too small a job. The company knew what we wanted done so why did he even bother to schedule and come?! My husband arrived as he was leaving and spoke to the estimator. The man repeated it was too small a job and even had the nerve to say I GOT TO MAKE A LIVING! We all need to make a living and this was a cash job. No longer considering them to replace the roof in a few years. read more

Please do not use this company. I was foolish enough to use them 3 times. But three strikes and you're out. My last experience came after the hurricane. I suffered a damaged roof. The companies the insurance company gave me were not able to come out timely so I called Phil DiBello. I had a long conversation about where the damage was. I was told that I needn't worry if I couldn't pinpoint it because they would be inspecting the roof. They also told me they would come early so my husband was prepared to leave a little late for his meeting. They showed up late, just as my husband was leaving. He repeated where the water was coming into the house and left. When I got home from work I almost had a heart attack. The tarp was at least 20 feet from where the damage was. When I called they said I told them to put the tarp there. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANY OF YOU!! I called them even before I stepped inside my house. Not only did they not put the tarp where I told them to, they clearly hadn't even bothered to inspect the roof. When they sent the guy back out he saw the problem immediately. How could he have missed it before? Because they didn't look and listen. He tore the tarp off the roof, causing more damage, and tarped the trouble area. I asked that Phil call me with an estimate asap so I could fix the roof. I really expected an apology but that never happened. 2 working days later at 7:42 I got a call from Phil. Ah, my apology and estimate. No!! It was Phil demanding to get paid. I asked Phil if he had sent me a bill. He lied and said he sent one Friday. I said as soon as I get the bill I will pay you. I asked if I was ever late in paying. Since he had no negative answer to that he basically hung up. At the end of the week I still hadn't received a bill and I emailed. He said they were busy and would send it out. But wait, didn't you say you already sent it. Both my previous encounters involved some of this same belligerent behavior, blaming me for their mistakes. On a prior skylight re installation I found some shingles on my deck that day. He said they didn't do it. When I reminded him that they had "inspected" the roof and made no mention of lose shingles and that the shingles were from right in front of the skylight he gave up blaming me.
