I'm not from Farmington but this was hands down one of the best cheeseburgers I had and everyone was super friendly.

The individual who helped us was very helpful. The burgers were enjoyable great; portion size in the fries were good but they were cold and crunchy when we received them, next time we will need to order only 2 in stead of 3. Since it was only a drive thru, we were asked to make sure we have our order correct before driving off. Which is understandable. I have learned to call in my order. Leaving my home right after I order, it is ready. Warm and made right. Delicious. Portions are huge for the French fries and onion rings so order accordingly or expect leftovers for breakfast. It is also good they staple the bag so I don't eat ff on the way home. read more

No onions- you get onions, no tomatoes- you'll get tomatoes. Stay away from the sweat potato fries - there are over cooked every time. I am going to suggest you call first to place your order as you'll have to sit for a while in the parking waiting for your order as this are made to order and most people call first. In Farmington just for a quick errand, and hungry before the trip back home. Wanted a good messy burger, and Hometown came up with good reviews. It's just a drive up shack, with a "call in your order" setup. After a 20 minute wait, we got our grub. Ok y'all....this IS A GOOD MESSY BURGER! You get to choose 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and a full pound???!!!....hubby and I are both wimps, and got the 1/4 pounders, with the lettuce tomato and good red onion. I added shrooms and green chile, and hubby got bacon and jalapeños. We unwrapped the burgers, took bites, and didn't talk for a full 5 minutes! This is old school, unapologetic, cooked to order, not fast but just awesome! Could hardly finish.... Oh yeah...the reason it's not 5 stars? Split an order sweet potato fries and onion rings among four of us and had leftovers a'plenty! The burger was very good, but the onion rings may be the best I've ever tasted! I love to support local businesses and try to give them my business but I can't stand the long wait times, disorganized ordering and pickups, and the horrendous drive through pickups. First you have to navigate around the building and hope someone comes out to get your order and finally pay at the window. You hope that they include the model of your vehicle when you place your order, because they easily get your order mixed up. By the time you get your order, your food is cold. If you want your food hot, you'd have to go inside and place your order and wait in the tiny lobby. If you happen to enjoy your food while it's still hot, it's actually pretty good. You're best bet is to call in your order and try to get there in time while your food is still hot. I wouldn't go here if you're hungry but if you have the time and don't really get bothered by cold food, give this place a try. read more

First place I went to when I moved to Farmington. It was a bit confusing to order when I got there. It's my go to place for burgers. I usually get the 1/4lbs burger with bacon and medium fries. Burger is really big. I tried the 1/2lbs one and couldn't finish it. So that's why I just stick with the 1/4lbs. I really like the fries. They already come seasoned. And they taste really awesome with their fry sauce. Only thing that sometimes stinks is the wait time. But that's how you know your food is made to order and not sitting underneath a heat lamp like in the fast food restaurants. read more

This place is indeed unique. You have to walk in to order or drive through. You can't sit and dine in. The burgers were decent. They were not too bad at all, they are certainly a step above the fast food chains and fresher. We ordered quarter pound with Swiss cheese, bacon and mushroom. It was bigger than the regular quarter pound. Their fries were well seasoned. Crispy and fresh. Hometown Burgers has the best burgers and they have a 1 pound burger you can order and I like their fries but they're kind of like a shoestring fries and they have fry sauce if you like fry sauce they have and they usually take your order and drive through or you can go in and you have to wait in the parking lot if you order through the drive-through yet the way in the parking lot for your food and the price is not bad so I come here when I'm craving fried sauce and I Leichter chicken strips with ranch I love that. This place is always busy, for a local fast food restaurant, that's always a great thing to see. They have beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries and more. I've never really been inside when I order food, until this past weekend. I see the cooks hustle and bustle around the kitchen and they all have a certain role. Some take orders and some fry the meat on the grill, and others put together the sandwiches and orders. It's a great working crew. The only thing I didn't like when I sat inside, was the lack of care. Seeing them toss frozen patties into the fryer, from across the kitchen, like they were flinging a frisbee, was eye-opening. And asking them to label what sandwich was which seemed like something they didn't want to do. Especially when one has a large order, of different types of sandwiches. But I did eat HH's 1/2 lb burger with green chile and swiss (hey, it's NM and if you don't get green chile on your burger then you might as well just go to McDonalds) and it was pretty good. I also had the onion rings - standard rings, likely from Sysco - and they were also good. Fries seemed like they might have been handcut, but I can't confirm that. All in all, good burgers and fries. We wanted to try out a local place and these kind of hole in the wall restaurants are usually the best. I felt like it was just okay. We called in our order after looking at the menu online and were quoted a 10 minute wait time. We drove up to the window got our drinks and and paid. Then were asked to pull around and wait. No one ever came out. 25 minutes after we ordered I finally went in to see what the problem was and most of our order was sitting under the warmer. Frustrating.
