Spent 5 days while visiting family. Our room was good, beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Only had time to use the pool a couple of times but enjoyed it each time. The lobby was nice and inviting, comfortable for sitting and relaxing. The staff was wonderful! Greeted us daily and always asked if we needed anything. They didn't allow us a late check out even though my husband is a diamond member ... because they already allowed their allotted amount to others even though they didn't have the status he had (we know this based on who we also knew stayed at this property). Had the pleasure of spending two nights here while my apartment's carpet was being ripped up due to the unit not being ready and absolutely soaked in cat urine. Luckily the management paid for the stay, because when I looked at the bill, I almost fainted. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean so I had a rather enjoyable weekend stay. Bathroom was a bit dated, but for a weekend it was fine. Had the opportunity to use the jacuzzi, but it took about a week to get the chlorine smell out of my skin. I booked this hotel last October so 5 months ago and I checked in today. (Booked 2 bedroom with 1 king and 2 queen bed) Got my keycard and went up to our room. It's 1 bedroom with 1 king bed. So I went down to lobby right away and address the mistake. But guy at the front dest told me I book this 1 bedroom with 1 king bed. Nope! I showed him my reservation through Expedia. See, it's 2 bedroom with 1 king and 2 queen. He replied to us that we don't have 2 bedroom in this hotel. It's mistake. (That's his first lie) homewood suite has minimum 4 rooms of 2 bedroom on each floor. That what I've booked 5 months ago. And now he is blaming to Expedia that Expedia doubled booked and that's how you lost my room. And saying I should be lucky to sleep in 1 bedroom with 1 king bed. What???? And he is saying we will give you roll away bed. So you and your children can sleep in roll away bed. What the hell??? I paid for 2 bedroom with 1 king and 2 queen!!! He is telling me that you guys have 1 king bed and give you roll away bed. What the hell. And he is telling me it's same price 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom so there will be no money refund, especially I paid through Expedia so he has nothing to do with my money refund. Ideally, he is telling me. Take or leave it. It's 25 degree outside and it's 7:30 pm already. This is just biggest scam that I experienced. 4 of us came up to the room. Because we didn't have any choice. There is no room available according to him. Take it or leave it. Gosh- we drove 4 hours and there is no where to go... 10 mins later, same guy. He called me and offer me to move us to studio. Which has 1 king bed and pulled out convertible bed. Which is exactly same room set up as this room. And he said he is trying to HELP me out. I told him. It's not helping. You choose the wrong word here. I paid for 2 bedroom with 1 king bed and 2 queen bed. You have me 1 bedroom with 1 king bed. And you're now tying to move the room with same setup and that helping??? And additionally he said there is some burn mark on carpet. What the hell is this. I asked him. That burned carpet. Is it hazardous to health especially, I have 2 kids. He is saying it's fine it's covered with rug. Sounds so sketch so I declined. And he arguing back to raise his voice and telling me he is trying to helping out. I told him. I'm gonna hang up. And I hung up the call with him. He is literally harassing me. I'm just tired of 4 hours of drive to here. I didn't need to have this experiment. And called Expedia and explained them all the incident. So back and forth with Expedia and this hotel front desk. He told Expedia that he tried to help us and trying to switch to other room. And I declined. (Why should I change my room if it's same one king bed with fire history in that room) according to Expedia, this hotel didn't closed the inventory after they sold the room to Expedia. (But front desk guy told us that Expedia double booked that's why I lost the room and it's common thing and I'm not the first one. It's happens all the time to so many people. So I should be just except this situation. It's 100% Expedia's fault and they have nothing to do with this incident.) What a hospitality and all these small lying from the beginning. He knew I booked two room with three bed but he give me one bedroom with one bed and telling me this is what I booked through Expedia. These guys didn't close the room inventory and they double booked the same room and gave it to other guest. It's just pure bullshit. I'm planing to raise this issue to Expedia and Hilton. I'm not going to tolerate this bed behavior towards to guest. Things that really makes me mad is. He is telling me about the rollaway bed. Yeah we will give you roll away bed. So I booked 1 king 2 bed but he is saying yeah you get 1 king AND roll away bed. It's not the same. But he is saying it's same price. How's the two bedroom and one bedroom is same price. The room had a kitchenette full refrigerator, stove top, microwave and toaster. The breakfast was included and due to COVID they pack you a nice breakfast box of your choosing. In town for a board meeting and wanted to stay close to the venue. This stay was a true delight! Public spaces are beautiful, spotless, and well appointed. Really beautiful The rooms were lovely. There was an evening social hour with delicious hot soup, crusty fresh bread, and a make your own salad, as well as hummus, pita, crackers, cheese, fresh fruit, and cookies. There was also a selection of wine and beer for the adults. The breakfast in the morning was truly delicious and not your standard "free breakfast" fare: overnight oats, chia parfaits, oatmeal, fresh bakery bagels, muffins, yogurt, potatoes, sausage, eggs, and make your own breakfast tacos with amazing pulled pork, eggs, cheese, jalapenos, salsa, tomatillo sauce, pickled onions, and warm flour and corn tortillas. What a treat! Truly was not expecting something so nice. Staff were all lovely and engaged. Well done! I hope to be back in a few months! read more

So disappointed with our stay. With both of our kids at colleges in the area, we have stayed at Homewood Suites MANY times. This was the first time that our stay felt lackluster for three reasons: 1. The kitchen floor was sticky. 2. The bathroom shower needed to have the grouting redone so the bathroom felt neglected. 3. We made an appointment to use the gym and when we got there someone was using the gym without a mask. I called the front desk and the gentleman answered saying, "Oh my god," like I was bothering him. I asked him if now was a good time and he said, "you're fine." I'm fine! Sadly, with so many options in the area, this will likely be our last stay at Homewood Suites. read more

It is the only Suite hotel I can find in Ithaca that is either a Hilton or Marriott with a true one-bedroom suite separating the living room by a privacy door to the bedroom. Unfortunately, that is one of the only positive features it has going for it imo. Also, it is apparently very dog-friendly, and we had loud barking dogs by our room. The rooms are very dirty. When we arrived, I picked up countless hairs from prior occupants in the bathtub, bathroom, and the tile floor in the kitchen. I would imagine there was a lot of other people's hair in the carpet that I could not see. We just felt grossed out by the lack of room cleanliness. Parts of the guest room are relatively updated, but the bathrooms are especially outdated and dirty. The front desk was not particularly nice nor helpful. I would describe multiple front desk employees' attitudes I encountered as indifferent. I made a request for a room cleaning in the hours we were away from the hotel, and housekeeping did not show up during that time. My husband and I stayed over night at this property while visiting the Cayuga Lake and Ithaca area. We were extremely pleased with the accommodations. The staff was helpful and made sure we had additional pillows and towels. The morning breakfast was very nicely done. The dining room was very warm and welcoming if you have needs of doing business or entertaining family and friends. There is also a fireplace with a tv directly above it and couches where you can relax and enjoy a moment by yourself. For my gym rat friends... The workout room had two very nice treadmills. Although I did not have time to workout on this trip, I was also impressed by the free weight rack they had. read more

This is one of the best Hilton properties I have stayed at - and since I travel often I have stayed at many Hiltons. From the minute I checked in until the minute I left, the staff were awesome. Friendly, courteous, polite, helpful and cheerful. The room was so clean and well prepared. The dining area was so clean. Outdoor seating area and pool area were very nice. General / common areas were very well kept and clean. I cannot say enough about the complimentary breakfast and evening reception! The food for both was very good, fresh, tasty and plentiful. What made it very nice was the staff - so friendly and polite. Like I said it was one of the best Hiltons I have stayed at! Kudos to the management and employees - you are all great!!! read more

We have stayed here several times while visiting the Ithaca area. The rooms and lobby area appear to have been renovated with a nice clean look. The only negative thing I have to say is that the breakfast we received our first morning was disappointing. The staff could not keep up with the number of guests. We had to ask numerous times for food to be restocked or juice to be refilled. Overall, it was a great stay. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again! read more

Saturday night our room was clean..bc who would stay in a dirty hotel room. We left Monday morning to do our first hikes and didn't get back to our room until about 5. Only to find there had been ZERO room service done. And NO we did not leave our DND on the door. No towels removed, no bed made and our trash wasn't even taken care of. Being a bit irritated by husband called the front desk to see if that "was supposed to be part of the hotel services". Of course that's a rhetorical question. Regardless they came up and removed the trash ONLY!. Ps...I had to put in the new trash bag myself. DAY 2... Now its Monday. We opted to drive to Watkins Glen to sight see over there. We left about 11:30am. We arrive back to the hotel at 5pm. AGAIN our room WAS NOT CLEANED!! For a Hilton hotel what a big FU...I could get this service at Super 8 and pay a 3rd of the price!!!! Now I'm beyond ticked off. I went to the front desk and spoke to the supervisor a black woman named Yolanda. I asked for the Manager. She said he was probably gone. She took my info and said she would email him. I think told her how out room had not been serviced for the 2nd day. She was going to see what. "She could do". I go back to my room. She calls and asks if there's anything I need in the room at that moment. I said makes so sense to come clean it now. I had advised Yolanda that I was close to filing a complaint with Hilton corporate. She proceeded to tell me that "we" had our DND sign on the door at 2:30pm. We did NOT!. I told her I had timed stamped photos from Watkins Glen at 1:00pm. And was about to run down there to show her...because she basically called me a liar after I told her, her cleaning person lied to her. I stay in hotels all the time instead of Air BNB for the FN Services!!!a Not to just leave a DND sign on the door. And because I did not trust them that day I took photos of the room before we left and when we returned documenting that nothing was cleaned. About 10 mins later 2 cleaning people come in. She wanted to change the bed sheets even tho I told her no. She did anyway. They put in extra towels in and left. DAY 3: I intentionally dumped some dirt on the kitchen floor..took more photos...they somewhat cleaned the room...probably bc I had to BITCH for 2 days to actually have my room serviced...and let's remember after Sat..it wasn't serviced until I had to walk to the front desk to complain!!! This was the worst hotel experience for the price I am paying. No wonder people are going to Air BNB at this rate! If you stay here for more than one day do not expect any services to your room. Do not expect the HILTON quality you would receive at better locations. This will never be a place I will recommend. I have plenty of friends from Vermont and MI who would love this area and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I have cleaned hotel rooms in my day. This place has not been filled to capacity since we have stayed here. I have cleaned more than 30 rooms myself at a casino hotel with more cleanliness th an they provided here. It feels like quite the RIP off honestly. To pay basically over $180 a night not including taxes and having a room cleaned ONCE during your sray. UPDATE: To the General Manager...who keeps responding to my complaints with the same copy and paste response: 1) WHAT PART OF LEAVING MONDAY AT 9AM...and not returning to the hotel until 5pm explains why NO ONE CLEANED OUR ROOM????????????????? We had to call the front desk to just have trash removed. According to your nonsense response.."housekeeping cleans between 9 and 3...no one even bothered with our room during those hours. 2) We left TUESDAY at 11:30am. No one knocked on our door. No on cleaned our room either that day...OH WAIT..excuse me they did empty out trash. So they obviously were in our room but did nothing else. THE HOTEL WAS ALREADY ALERTED ON MONDAY THAT NO ONE CLEANED OUR ROOM...and yet still a failure again to clean our room. Then I'm told by your Front Desk Mgr that her housekeeper said our DND was on until 2:30pm. Which is a blatant lie. Your staff just didn't want to do their job. 3) NO ONE EXPLAINED ANYTHING. Yolanda didn't say anything other than insinuate I was a liar. The GM did not call me to explain anything. 4) Our room was finally cleaned on Tuesday...and poorly at that. This is puss poor service and I did issue my complaint with corporate. As I attempted to get some response from YOU but you failed to even acknowledge anything until I posted negative reviews online....to which your response is a lie. Over the last couple years the hotels in Ithaca have really improved. The Homewood Suites is definitely one of these newer, better places. The location isn't the best. Every view is going to be of either a highway, parking lot or strip mall, so don't expect anything from that. But aside from that it's all pretty good. The room was clean and the bathroom was full of towels. Having the kitchen would be nice for a longer stay, but even for just a couple nights it was good for storing a few food items and heating up some leftovers. The breakfast is always a welcome addition and had plenty for both of us to choose from. Housekeeping did a nice job and I like how all your glasses get washed in the dishwasher at most Homewood Suites. Always nice to know the glasses were actually cleaned. Relative to other hotels in the Ithaca area, this is a great place. Like most Ithaca hotels it's usually overpriced for what it is, but you don't really have a lot of choice. The Homewood Suites is definitely in my top list of places I choose when I'm in Ithaca. read more

This is a fantastic property by Hilton. My daughter is going to Cornell for the summer program and I was looking for a nice hotel. Traditionally I stay at the Marriot and I am a Bonvoy member but their prices are very high. I snagged a great deal on Expedia and wanted to try out . I got a hearing impaired room~ didn't miss anything. There was a fridge stove and large sitting area in the room . The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The LG TV swivels. My husband would have liked that . My cherries and watermelon is in the fridge along with my water. This is a nice family friendly hotel. The property has a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi and outdoor bar b que grill and siting area. Breakfast is included and there is a basketball court( my son would have liked that too) I am also a Hilton Honors Member and you get free WiFi . I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. My boyfriend and I came to the Ithaca region for my birthday. Upon our arrival I nonchalantly mentioned we were celebrating for the weekend. That evening they rang our room asking if we would be taking part in their free beer and wine. When we arrived to the lobby area they had a birthday cake for me, a card and a bag full of goodies!! The manager was very rude and I was pissed. We walked into our suite and started unpacking. About ten minutes later, couple women came in the room and said our room was actually theirs. We did see wine and snacks on the counter but assumed they were offered by the hotel. The manager questioned me directly to my face why I walked into the room that had luggage. I had to show him my room card and key to show him that I also had suite 300. The hotel was the one that made the mistake and had no problem blaming the guests. My son and I stayed in a very nice suite - like a one-bedroom apartment. Pleasant, spacious and meticulously maintained (super-clean). Staff are extremely nice and helpful. Only a couple of small complaints: *My son and I both had trouble getting the room door open with our card keys - it sometimes took 4 or 5 swipes. *The free breakfast is a bit lacking - not enough fresh fruit, especially melon, just one container of mixed fruit, very few hot meal choices. But for a free breakfast, it's fine. *The pillows are extremely thick - too thick - but had I asked the staff to give me flatter pillows, I'm sure they would have. Highly recommended. read more

So the best way to end a long day of flying through the crazy winter weather is to end up at this hotel! I'm a US Airways Express pilot and am in and out of tons of different hotels. This by far is one of the best places I stay at! I'm not even kidding when I say that the rooms are better than some apartments I've lived in, LOL! Somehow I've got to find a way to move in. Jason picked up my crew and I and he was just one of the nicest down to earth people you could meet. I believe he also made the dinner later on. Oh yeah, they make you dinner here Monday through Thursday and it's served buffet style in the lobby. The last time I was there it was meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and veggie medley night! FANTASTIC! They also had some great dinner rolls, red and white wine, beer, and a great salad bar! Later on, they brought out homemade cookies! Who does that?! I'm certain I put on about 10 pounds that night! The room is basically a small studio with a king sized bed, FULL kitchen complete with a full sized fridge and dishwasher, large bathroom and separate bathroom sink area. They have flat screen TV's and the bed will knock you out faster than Mike Tyson, LOL! Bottom line, I left the hotel the next day well rested, not hungry, and with a smile on my face. A recent stay at this "hotel" was worse than awful. Besides a VERY dirty room the fan over the bed had so much dust on it if I could have moved the bed from under I would have. They decided to put a guest in the room above mine at 10:30 at night with a chilkd who continued to run from one end of the room to the other for 3 hours. After several calls to the front desk to complain their solution was to MOVE ME, because their NEW guest refused to be moved. This happened TWO nights in a row. NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Also upon check in I was told had I not booked through Expedia they would have lowered the rate due to AAA and AARP membership. This HAPPENED two weeks ago and to date they have not contacted me neither has Expedia. No compensation has been offered. So I say about both of these AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

This is regarding the hotel's booking and reservation policy. I had a family emergency come up and was not able to make use of the whole reservation. I only require two of my four night stay. Online, it was a very seamless cancellation policy. Typical of most hotels. In actuality, the reservation could not be modified as it appeared online. In fact, the entire trip would have to be canceled and they did not allow for one or two day stay. When asked about the lack of transparency they said it was due to an event week and there was a policy that would not allow fewer than multiple nights stay. In my case it was four. This was never stated in any of their policies- even in fine print. When I asked about re-booking, they said they would not book on a nightly basis even though they said they were "easily sold out every night" because they didn't want the extra cleaning services to turn over the room. read more

this was our 3rd stay at this property, but our last. we stay for a week, our room was never vacuumed during our stay, items were not restocked, such as soap, tissue, shampoo, and coffee. shower head had no pressure would barely rinse soap off. blow dryer was so bad that we did go buy one to use during our stay. have sent 3 different feedback to hilton guest services but to date have still not received a response. i guess they are not big on customer service! read more

Keep your expectations low. The shower is definitely not updated and very dirty. We tried to dry our hair only to have it spark at us. It took a long time to get a replacement and was difficult to call the front desk because neither phone in our room worked. Meanwhile, breakfast provided very few choices and almost nothing to drink. After a long day of travel, we checked in only to discover that I had forgotten to pack my toothbrush. I asked the desk attendant for a spare and he said that they didn't have any. I was very rude (sorry!!!!) to the attendant and he didn't bat an eye -- instead he arranged for a toothbrush and paste to be purchased at a local drugstore and he brought them to our room about 15 minutes later (at no charge). Truly excellent service and a big thank you!! Separately, the hotel is clean and quiet; the breakfasts are well prepared; the rooms are spacious with full size refrigerators; the staff are friendly. I am a long term Hilton customer and diamond member. I make it a point to stay at Homewood as I do that for my consulting business. This is the first time I have been disappointed in the afternoon meals. Usually there is a hot meat of some kind. Here in Ithaca I see that is not the case. Cheese crackers and salad.
