All in all this hotel was much more than I expected. My elderly parents stayed here for five nights while they came into town to visit us. Our place is a three bedroom but it's a little cramped, and all of the rooms are occupied with stuff. They needed a place that is comfortable and also maintained their independence. They were still at our house most of the time though. From what I saw of their hotel room, it had all of the modern conveniences. They mentioned that the bed was also very nice. The lobby and reception area were even nicer. They offered daily breakfast that was better than average. There is also a convenient business center, althou my parents didn't use that. I think that this hotel was a great value for the accommodation and conveniences.

I stayed at the Homewood Suites for four nights in mid-September. I would say my experience was average at best. I often choose Homewood Suites because if you stay there often, you know what you get. This location fell short of what I'm used to. When I pulled up in the parking garage, I was immediately greeted by the smell of pot being smoked nearby. I went down the stairs (parking garage) and it smelled like someone had used them for their urinal. Check in was easy and uneventful. When the elevator reached my floor, there was a broken down ironing board right outside the door. I came back another night around 9pm to find sheets all throughout the hallways. The gym was incredible for a hotel gym, although the equipment could use some routine maintenance. There were never any cleaning wipes in the gym at anytime during my stay. Overall, the staff was friendly. I got a couple texts from the manager asking about my stay...nice touch. The property just seemed a little grungy and worn down. Would I stay here again?? Only if I had to.

The kitchen is truly a game changer!

Please always clean and sanitize your room before you get comfortable and unpack. There are a few broken things in the room (lamp, toilet paper dispenser, and shower door does not close completely, also there were stains on the curtains, couch and carpet. The breakfast is decent also.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Bed Bugs and Poor Customer Service from Owner I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites in Springfield with my family for a 14-night stay, and I must say that it was an extremely disappointing experience. From the very beginning, we encountered numerous issues that were never adequately addressed by the hotel staff. Firstly, upon entering our room, it was clear that the hotel's lobby had recently been remodeled, which gave us some hope for a pleasant stay. However, as we entered our room, it became evident that the rooms themselves were dated and in need of renovation. We found a bottle cap on the ground and the countertops did not appear clean. These cleanliness issues were quite off-putting. On the first night, while preparing to go to bed, we discovered a significant amount of hair on the pillow, sheets, and fitted sheets. We immediately requested fresh sheets from the front desk, but this should not have been an issue in the first place. Furthermore, the second room we booked was not ready until after 6pm, despite the promised check-in time of 3pm. This delay was particularly frustrating for my elderly father, who was exhausted and in need of rest. The following day, we decided to cut short our stay due to the unsatisfactory condition of the hotel. We believed that the amount of money we were paying did not align with the subpar quality of the accommodation. Moreover, later that night, we made a disturbing discovery when we found two bed bugs in our room. This was absolutely unacceptable and highly unsanitary. We immediately contacted the front desk, and although they offered to move us to another room, we were so disgusted by the experience that we chose to find alternative accommodation elsewhere. To add insult to injury, the hotel only refunded us for one night and provided us with $20 in quarters as compensation. Considering the magnitude of the issues we encountered, both nights in one of our rooms should have been fully refunded. Additionally, as a result of the bed bug incident, we had to spend $39.25 on laundry to ensure that our clothes were not contaminated. Despite contacting the hotel multiple times and speaking with Tameka, we have yet to hear back from the owner to resolve these matters. This lack of response and disregard for our concerns is completely unacceptable. Overall, our experience at Homewood Suites in Springfield was nothing short of a nightmare. From the uncleanliness of the rooms to the presence of bed bugs and the complete lack of effective customer service from the owner, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. Having to switch hotels after midnight and pay more for the one night stay at a different hotel, spend time washing laundry until 430am instead of sleeping, spending more on laundry that exceeded the cost of the quarters provided by the hotel, finding another long term rental solution at the last minute...this hotel needs to do better! It is essential for management to address these issues promptly, prioritize customer satisfaction, and ensure that guests' experiences align with the standards expected from a reputable establishment.

Let me guess this hotel is ghetto because of Covid or is it just a lack of caring management. Notice the managers reply to every review is sorry. On Trip Advisor. sorry I can't get off my ass to fix the problems in this hotel. Half of the lobby is closed because of Covid? Or is it closed because they don't have the staff to clean the area? Don't book with points at this hotel because they're gonna give you the most crappiest roo they've got and that could be all of them. So follow up in morning there are "to go" B'fast boxes. Nice but no plastic ware or a napkin. So you get to use your finger to spread cream cheese on a bagel. you get to use the same-finger to scoop yogurt out of the cup. I spoke with management on duty the following morning his reply was we've been busy yet when I mentioned the rooms the same condition as it was eight months ago on another prior review he was dumbfounded

This is my second time staying at this hotel. I love that they have everything to offer. Perks and amenities are a plus. The kitchen and fridge is the best for families. All with a separate living area with a fold out couch helped meet the needs of my family of 5. The people here are so hospitable and friendly. The room was clean and huge. After a pleasant night stay; the continental breakfast topped our stay off. The woman maintaining the breakfast buffet was so kind. She helped make sure my kids got served, by helping them out. The hilton suites are modern and great for meetings. If in the area again, I will always choose this hotel here at Springfield.

Surprises left for me and my family in our Homewood Suites room.

For my work I was a dedicated Hhonors traveler. Fiercely loyal. When I traveled for 6 years I had many many stays at a Homewood suites in Tampa. What a great place. I stopped travelling for work and lost my status with Hhonors but my loyalty never waivered. Until tonight. To use some points, my 11 and 8 year old wanted to go to DC for spring break. I called Hhonors to burn a night of points and make a reservation for the week of 4/6. Because of my prior experience with Homewood, it was without question where I wanted to stay. We decided to alter the reservation to come in two day earlier so I called back. Central reservations hooked me up, and off to DC we go. After a 6 hour drive we arrived in Springfield, VA at Homewood. I came to check in and the clerk advised I have no reservation, I was supposed to come in on the 6th (monday). Clearly I was in on the 4th per my conversation with central reservations. I even called to confirm 4 hours prior to arrival. Due to four of us we wanted a king suite (which was what we reserved) and all they had was a economy suite....you know, bed and a couch, no actual suite. I had two tired kids and a cranky wife so we took the room. I appreciate the free parking, but spots for anything but a mini cooper were limited. We planned to have the homewood for our base during the week of exploring our nations' capitol, so we had a ton of stuff. Got a luggage cart and off to our room. The elevators were pretty dirty; a spot sweep would have helped. We got in and started unloading and my wife hollered for me in the bathroom. Now I was a cop for many years and what I found was disturbing. A used syringe and what I think is an enema bag in the bathroom drawer. The tools of your friendly neighborhood prosititute. Nothing says party like a little heroin residue in your kids' bathroom. Now I understand stuff like this happens in hotels but dammit HOW THE HELL DO YOU MISS THIS? (See photos). The kitchenette floor appears to have been mopped with a bedsheet soaked with coca cola, and the wall switches look to have some other fluid on them. Overall, for the age of this hotel, it's damn filthy. Filthy. I called to the front desk and a super nice kid tried his best to apologize but even he understood this was beyond gross. He did offer to move us 4 doors down but with two kids already half asleep we elected to stay in the petri dish for the night. The other room did not appear any better. I did some cleaning and wiped some of this down myself. The clerk was probably one of the redeeming features of this place. At this juncture, my vacation has been ruined before the first night and I am ready to just pack it in and drive home for a staycation. I 've never stayed in a place that sickened me so. Homewood, you let me down.

We were charged for audiovisual services that were not functional when our seminar began. Staff onsite were unable to operate the equipment and acknowledged they were not trained. We had to bring in outside equipment at our own expense to keep the event going. The hotel later refunded the AV charge, but refused to cover the additional cost we incurred due to their failure. Even more concerning was the behavior of the Catering Manager, who was confrontational and unprofessional in front of guests and staff. This included a heated exchange that was visible to attendees and others present, including representatives from a nonprofit organization we were supporting. That level of conduct is not what you expect when hosting a professional event. This property has a lot of potential, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious about hosting an event here without clear assurances around on-site management.

This is easily a top 3 WORST experience I've ever had at a Marriott. Check in: the lady at the desk was cold and barely even acknowledged my existence. Not a word about being a good member or lifetime status member. The pool was closed. We had a very large group and part of why we chose this hotel was for the pool so the kids could play in it. Not a single word at check in about it being closed, not was it on the website or in an email. Simply unacceptable. There was an extremely large group or groups of teenage kids there for DC tours or sporting events. The hallways were extremely loud ALL night long and made it impossible to sleep. If your hotel knows about these large groups (and they know exactly how many there are) they should be placing them in one area, together, away from everyone else so families and travelers can get rest. Putting all these kids and groups around families is begging for disaster. Simply unacceptable. My room was next to a busy street and ALL night long I could hear cars going by, another reason I didn't get much sleep during my stay. My room smoke detector was beeping all night long, when it started I called down to the front desk and the phone rang for 10 minutes and yet no one picked it up. I went down to find the front desk worker and no one was around, even after I waited about 10 minutes. The next day I told the workers at the front desk about the beeping and asked for it to be fixed. When I returned to my room that night the beeping was still there. Completely unacceptable to not fix that after being asked to. The fire alarm went off at 630am, waking every person and forcing us to go outside where it was freezing temperatures. After we finally got back inside we were told it was just a false alarm, not someone pulling the alarm. Our family has a special needs child and he was absolutely terrified the rest of the trip, he kept asking if we were going to die in a fire because of the fire alarm. The rooms are old and outdated, we had one room where the wall paper was falling off the walls all over the place. My pillows were terrible, they had different styles but none of them provided any kind of softness or comfort. I am still looking for the managers direct email, I am demanding my points be returned to me for this stay, it was truly a terrible experience from the time I steeped onto that property. This hotel should be stripped of the Marriott name because it completely ruins the brand.

They offer egg white frittatas, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, muffins, bagels, English muffins, oatmeal, boiled eggs (conveniently already shelled and bagged), fruit, and of course everyone's favorite... The Belgian waffles. (There was only one waffle maker though. They should invest in at least one more, to minimize the wait time). Instead of one whole waffle, the waffle maker makes four mini waffles. Perfect for decorating them and topping them with whatever you want. That is not the case here. While they do have a standard water fountain, it's very difficult to fill up water bottles. I highly recommend adding a water bottle fountain accommodate those of us who travel with our water bottles. -The in-room clothing rack is too close to the ground. I like to iron all of my clothes and hang them up in the closet when I first arrive. However, the highest clothing rack available in the closet area is still so low to the ground that the bottom of my knee-length dresses touched the floor. -The shower takes a very long time to get warm, and the water pressure is frustratingly low. Even with the attachment, it still takes forever to rinse off. -The in-room iron was so old and emitted clouds of dust onto my clothes whenever I used the steam function. Additionally, the gauge was worn so it was difficult to see what setting the iron was on. The mini ironing board in the room made it very difficult to iron clothes. A full size ironing board would have really been helpful. -I have concerns about the availability of the front desk staff. Most of the times that I passed the front desk, there was no one there. It's been this way since the moment I arrived. I walked in and waited at the desk for few minutes before someone finally showed up to check me in. Very early the next morning, I came down to the lobby looking for the fruit infused ice water, and the only employee I found to ask about it was taking a snooze in the bar area. Later the day, I went to the front desk to report a dead insect in one of my light fixtures, as well as a malfunctioning door lock. I returned to my room 8 hours later only to find that the dead insect problem had not been addressed. I called the front desk multiple times to follow up that evening, and no one answered the phone. This situation was only resolved when I went down to the front desk the next morning to complain. There was only one elevator working during our stay, but there were no notices on the elevators or in the lobby to notify us. I returned to the room and had to push firmly on the door to gain entry. Once inside, I found the room to be extremely hot because the air conditioner had been turned off. When I turned on the AC, a significant amount of dust came out of the vent and went directly into my throat. I then inspected the bed sheets and noticed several stains. They appeared dirty and poorly maintained. Upon further inspection, I found additional stains on other areas of the bedding. I also went into the bathroom and found that the towels were dirty, old, and worn. I attempted to remain for a short time, but the room felt so unclean and unhealthy that I decided to leave. I checked out within an hour and did not return. I would advise caution if you are considering staying at this hotel, as you may encounter similar issues and waste both your time and money. In addition, customer service was unresponsive, and I was repeatedly transferred and given different phone numbers, which was extremely frustrating and unhelpful.

I am military and was traveling with two small dogs under 10lbs. We were told upon check in that there was no incidentals fee beyond the original $50 added to my room price. (Total coming up to $170.08) During the night, my door was knocked on twice by drunk patrons of the hotel mistaking my room for theirs. I am a solo woman, my Navy husband is at home in Florida, and naturally this was extremely anxiety inducing. Unfortunately this never stopped and happened repeatedly throughout the night, escalating to aggressive jiggling of my door handle, leading me to feel distinctly unsafe. I checked out before 4am on 06/24/26 in order to leave and ensure my safety- luckily I was able to secure other accommodations. After my check out (several hours later) another HUNDRED DOLLAR CHARGE appeared in a separate email receipt. Confused I called the hotel, and was put on hold for 20 minutes waiting for a manager who eventually called me back, only to put me on hold another 12 minutes. She ended up informing me they would not be removing this charge despite the fact that it was not disclosed to me at any point, there was no damage to the room, and my stay was horrendous. I attempted to negotiate calmly before giving up and hanging up the phone. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is NOT a safe place for solo female travelers, and they will overcharge you in order to scam you and then lie about it.

Warning: Avoid Roach Motel Marriott TownePlace Suites, Springfield, VA…read more 6245 Brandon Ave, Springfield, VA 22150 I would give no stars to this roach motel if I could. It is an absolute dump! About a month ago, my family and I checked into what we thought would be a decent mid-range Marriott property while waiting to close on our new home. Instead, we walked into the worst hotel experience of our lives -- a true roach motel. From the start, the first room smelled like something had died in it -- hot, sticky, and clearly unoccupied for a long time. The second room wasn't much better: dingy carpets, old stained furniture, a grimy outdated kitchenette with stained pots, and a pool so filthy that our kids got sick after swimming in it. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day but often skipped us entirely. When they did come, some staff behaved suspiciously around our valuables. On our last day, a cleaner vacuumed one square foot of the floor, left for "lunch," then returned with a translator to yell at me from the doorway. When I called the front desk, the so-called general manager sided with the cleaner, accused us of "complaining too much," and demanded that my family -- including two elderly relatives and two children -- vacate the property immediately, even threatening to call the police. I contacted Marriott corporate expecting professionalism, but they took the GM's word at face value, offered only a refund for one day, and closed the case. No apology. No accountability. We took a video showing all the evidence to prove that our story is true. We took a video of the uncleaned room and the vacuum that wa left in our room. But none of that was taken into consideration by Marriott Corporate! Bottom line: This location is dirty, unprofessional, and downright hostile to paying guests. Marriott's corporate response showed they don't care about customer safety or satisfaction. We will never stay at a Marriott again. If you value cleanliness, respect, and basic decency -- stay far away from Marriott TownePlace Suites in Springfield, VA.

It's very convenient because it's only 15 minutes from the train station the next morning. We like to pick a hotel with a good shower because we don't like to shower on the train. We have had good experiences both times we've been here. Most staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotlessly clean, even though there were a couple of things that needed updating. The breakfast was very good, especially the bacon and waffles. (I skip the egg patties and go for the hard-boiled eggs.) We only stay one night and this time I was surprised there was a lady with a dog down the hall from us, but I'm learning that down here, a lot of people with pets were displaced by the hurricanes. We are in Florida right now and ignorant me, I asked another lady if there was a dog convention going on in the hotel next to one place we ate. She kindly explained to me how very many people still haven't been able to move back into their permanent residences.
