I followed my barber to HOMME, driving over two hours for cuts in the past. Now that I'm local, I've been getting my hair cut by Noe. He always delivers exactly what I'm looking for and has been super flexible when I've wanted to try something new--like a mohawk! Noe's attention to detail and willingness to ensure I'm happy with the final result is unmatched. He's the best! The shop itself is incredible. It has a fantastic vibe with tons of plants and strategically placed alcohol that adds a unique and stylish touch. The owner, Aili, is amazing--always so kind and welcoming. Her dog, Shadow, is the perfect greeter, adding to the warm, local feel of the space. Both Noe and Aili go above and beyond to make clients feel comfortable and at home. I followed Aili from People's Barbershop, I first started seeing her after seeing 5-6 other barbers and have really appreciated how much care she takes in working with where you want to go with your hair. Knowing that she's Going to make you look good from the very first cut, AND if you have goals with where you want your hair to go, she works with making that happen! This review is about one of the best barber experiences I've ever had--Noe! Not only has the HOMME team taken the precautions during this difficult time to make me feel safe, but they didn't sacrifice on quality and the experience while doing it. Now to Noe: I really only need a cut every two weeks, but Noe's craftsmanship keeps me coming in week over week. He makes suggestions on ways to achieve my desired outcome, is patient and always makes the experience top notch. I'm from the east coast, so I'm used to a real quality straight shave--Noe blows those folks out of the water. My last barber was pushing my hairline back and cutting way below the beard line. In the last 3 months, Noe not only brought it back, but made me feel like Drake on a Saturday night in Miami with my beard being the best it has ever been. He also suggested some vitamins I could take to give my heard and hair more health. I'm moving to Stockton, but best believe I'm going to be driving to keep Noe in my life. I'm loyal to my barber, so I'm one of those that followed Aili from People's to here. And I only got her at People's because I took a gamble on "straight razor shave" and I'm very lucky she came up first. For those looking for a new barber, Aili is a certified barber. This isn't something that is easy to come by, and I remember back at People's she was one of the few there. As you can read on her site, the difference between a barber and a stylist is the expertise to use a straight razor which was essential to me. As a bald man, I like the experience I get here - the hot towel, warm lather, and the delicate work of the straight razor. She also always touches up my beard, going from scraggly mess to looking like an actual human. If you have any questions or need suggestion, she will get you the style you want and will look great. The best part is that as she sets her own appointments with you, she takes the time to give you the cut and/or shave you deserve and you get to build a great barber-client relationship which I feel is something too many people take for granted. The space is also great - some chairs to relax indoors before or after your appointment (don't forget to grab a drink). Great music always playing. You're in for a treat here. One of my favorite parts of my week. I go in to see Noe once a week and its always a fulfilling experience! The almost-hidden aesthetic of this barbershop that is surrounded by greenery creates the perfect ambiance for a haircut. While Marcus ans Ayli and Marcus help to generate a positive atmosphere, Noe drives each haircut as an experience. Through comfortable conversation and a dedication to his craft AND his clients, there is no such thing as a bad day after seeing him. You can also give him your vision of what look you want your look to be and he will help you get to that look in a way that gives you room to continuously expand your style (I've seen this from all 3 of the talented bartenders in this spot.) This is a cool little shop. Unhappy with beard trim. There was a lack of craftsmanship -- the beard lacked transition into the neck and was completely asymmetrical with each side looking different than the other. Very disappointed, particularly at price point. Went to another shop and the barber did a beautiful job fixing my wrecked beard for half the price. It's now shorter than Id like, but it will grow back. read more
