In 9 years this is the only place I go. I have taken 4 different vehicles here for service work. For a multitude of issues. Older paid for vehicles. One was a 98 4 runner. Total rust bucket. Leaking rear heater. Front end suspension. Alternator. They always did the job in a efficient and effective manner. Honda civics 3 total. All different issues. AC repair. Power Steering pump. Bearing. I've recommended this business to many family and friends. Mike is always super nice and helpful! This shop's fees and charges are always reasonable for the work they are doing. The name of the shop says it all... I have been taking my cars to Frank and his shop for the last four years or more. they do GREAT work and very reasonable if not a steal compared to any other shop I have ever dealt with. Small jobs like a switch that doesn't work or an engine that needs to be replaced he has done the work for me on many vehicles I have owned. He shoots it straight and will tell you what is needed and what isn't as well as weather or not its even worth the time and money to fix. I had an unexpected breakdown and didn't know what to do. I came to Yelp to find an auto repair shop and found Franks. I was incredulous when I read the reviews here thinking they were posted by friends and family because they were such glowing reviews. I thought, "Oh well... I'm between a rock and a hard place! I might as well give him a try." I have to say that every single review here is the absolute truth. I now know that as long as Frank and his sons are operating this shop, I have a place to go that will take care of me and I find a great deal of comfort in that. I'm not going to rehash all the other reviews. Just know that they're all true (and then some). Frank deserves every bit of praise he recieves but his humility prevents him from accepting it. Frank is amazing! We have been taking our vehicles and our families vehicles to him for the last 10 years. You would think that a long term client after a while the quality of service would drop. NO WAY! Not with Frank! His business name says it all. He never over charges is always fair and generally can tell you over the phone what's wrong. I have been taking my vehicles to Frank's shop for over fifteen years, they have always taken good care of my vehicles. The most recent maintenance on one of my vehicles was on November 4th 2020 to change the timing chain, which included belts, hoses, and to fill with anti-freeze. First problem I ran into a couple days after receiving my truck was that they didn't completely fill it up with anti-freeze. Had a terrible burning smell, which led me to check the anti-freeze. Sure enough the resorvoir was empty even though I was charged for it. On January 6, 2022 took it back for an anti-freeze leak, was told that it wasn't leaking anti-freeze. I questioned that, because I know what anti-freeze looks like. Hours later, Mike said that it was still under warranty because it was anti-freeze leak. On June 28, 2022 I noticed another anti-freeze leak, Mike told me that they were too busy to take a look at it and that they wouldn't be able to take a look at it until after July 11, 2022. So thinking that because I have been a long time customer, I could have gotten better service. This vehicle is my primary source of income, and here I am having to borrow other people's vehicles because Frank's was too busy to take care of a long time customer. And on top of everything, the only way that their protection plan would cover the cost of another shop fixing it would be if I had broken down out if town, and my vehicle would be taken to a shop of their choice. Service at Frank's has certainly changed since Mike took over, I will never take my vehicle to their place of business again. read more

It's a shame that I have to write this, but my experience here was not good and it's not ok that it gets swept under the rug. I came here on the recommendation of friends/family to get my motor mounts replaced. It was a big ticket item, but I was told to come here and they'd take care of me. Twice while my car was being worked on the tech. came in to update me. Once telling me that he found a huge bolt and had no idea where it came from or where it goes and the second time to tell me the reason it was taking so long was because he was having a really hard time putting the new mounts on. Both updates obviously making me nervous and not confident in my decision to come here. 5+ hours later I finally leave. The annoyance of how long it took (I asked many times how long it would take prior and was told 'not long' by Mike) and for spending so much money, and the fact that my boss called me several times and having to drive clear across town to rush to work in Tempe overrode the fact that I noticed, as I left, that my car was still shaking, just not as much as when I brought it in. I could tell something was done, but knew it wasn't 100% right. The tech. also forgot to put 2 large plastic covers back on under the hood that a family member who lives way closer had to go pick up for me. I don't drive a lot in general, and went 15 years before my motor mounts needed to be replaced to begin with. At my next oil change a couple months later Camelback Toyota told me that I needed new motor mounts. Wait, what? Even though my car never stopped shaking, I hesitate to believe anything the dealership says, so I took it with a grain of salt. I called Franks the next day and Mike said I had 3 years to bring it back, great. Next oil change from 180 Auto and they said I needed new motor mounts. Come again? I went to different places hoping someone would say it was something else, and knowing I still had plenty of time left in my warranty. I called Franks again and told them again my car never stopped shaking after they changed the mounts (which Mike recounted to me and has on record!) and multiple places are telling me I needed what I had done at their shop. Mike told me to bring it back so I drove clear across town again just to be made to feel like a fool. You know when someone lies right to your face and you know they're lying. That was my experience of bringing it back to Franks, and it was obviously well within the warranty period of course, which Mike recounted again. They told me the motor mounts were fine and I just needed new spark plugs and a tune up to stop the shaking. I drove away knowing I had just been lied to and the shaking progressed more and more. I took it to Johnston's Automotive a few months ago for another oil change, and they told me that 3 of the mounts were completely broken and the 4th was cracked and very soon it would be a huge catastrophe. So less than 4 years later, including not driving at all for 8 months of that time due to covid, and less than 17k miles later I had to spend ANOTHER $1200 THAT I DON'T HAVE to get my motor mounts replaced, AGAIN, except correctly this time. They told me they looked as old as the car itself and sent me pics of them before they did any work. I called Franks AGAIN to give them a final chance to make things right (before I told Johnston's to go ahead and replace them) and Mike basically told me I was s**t out of luck. He confirmed with me again that they put brand new factory mounts on my car and he had every faith in his guy that it was done correctly, which is something he obviously has no way of knowing. I was completely transparent and went up/down and sideways with him, and it was too bad so sad for me, and he eventually hung up on me! I gave them every opportunity to make it right, and they hung me out to dry. The stress and hardship this caused BOTH TIMES is STILL ongoing. A complete nightmare! read more

The name says it all; I have never stumbled upon a shop that had as much Integrity and treated their clients like royalty like I've had with Frank's shop. Where is Frank? it can take a life time to build trust and one bad experience to break it. I as well have been taking my vehicles to Frank "Honest Auto". Now, Mike is handling most of his business...Ladies beware if you do not know anything about vehicles because this Honest Auto business isn't so Honest with us. I say this because I was told my car needed oil and oil was leaking into my gas tank. This job was going to take them 10 hours of labor and therefore cost me $1,800.00 to fix. To make me feel better Mike told me that he could drop $75.00 less if paid by CASH. After discussing my concern with a friend who questioned what was going to be done with my car and if it was worth fixing. I had him call to find out the details of the actual problem and the work that will be done. Mike said that my car needed motor gaskets, gasket shields, and heads to stop oil leaking into the gas tank. My friend questioned Mike why it would take 10 hours because usually that type of work takes longer. Mike than said that he has "people" that could do it. After reviewing the details Mike then said he would change the vow cover and quoted $200.00. WOW. Why was I not given that choice? In the end, Mike said just to make sure that I had oil in vehicle and charged me $27.00 for an oil change. If I did not have a male person call Mike I would of paid $1,800 for an OIL CHANGE. My sister turned me on to Frank's a couple of years ago and he's been our go-to guy ever since. While he's not set up to assist us with our diesel trucks ( we're a contractor ), he's been more than helpful with everything else we take to him. I had an employees vehicle towed to him yesterday and it's ready today. For $150.00! The bill was only $150. I also asked Mike to checks the belts & hoses while they had it in the shop. They "were all fine", and just the sensor replacement was required. They're busy for a reason, but in my 52 years here in the Valley, I've never encountered a shop with more integrity. read more
