After spending over $2,500 in the past 14 months, I can't believe how they've changed and completely fallen off a cliff. Tried to schedule my truck to get looked at for a possible coolant leak. They couldn't handle that, received a call regarding my appointment that they had expected me earlier. The owner was rude! The fact that the 2 people that helped me in the past aren't there anymore, and the owner has to answer phones and deal with customers. Put right people in right places, she actually said we'll shame on you for getting your oil changed somewhere else...if you didn't charge $150 dollars for SYNTHETIC BLEND, she had no idea of all the work they had performed on my vehicle. She should have. Because she proceeded to ask about things that I had done there less than 6,000 miles ago. She was simply going through motions, pushing an invoice across the counter towards me not listening to a thing and not having a clue. Every business is a people business. I'm very loyal to the places that provide good, consistent service. Based on recent reviews, Pete Nelson is losing more more customers than just myself. They are ridiculous on their prices . Was quoted 1750.00 on an a/c repair ...I bought the parts on amazon(complete a/c rebuild kit) for 200.00 and found a guy that has 40 years experience to install the parts vacuum the system and charge it back up . He charged me 250.00 and even replaced a burned out headlamp for no charge....that's what I call service! .. So they were overcharging me 1300.00 Stay away from this shop! read more

Am so disappointed! Had to find someone to do an oil change as soon as possible as we were heading home to Colorado and the truck said oil change needed. Bill said no problem, will get you in. They looked over our truck and called us to tell us we needed rear brakes (pads and rotors) as the pads were worn and rotors totally rusted. Wanted over $500 to do the work on the brakes. Said no thank you as a friend of ours said he would do them. He did the work in less than half an hour at home and the rotors were just fine!!. Bill also said they checked the air in all our tires, must not have cause they were all 10 or more pounds less than what they should have been. We thought that dealing with a sheriff we would get a straight deal, obviously we were mistaken. Do they treat everyone like this or just out of towners? read more

Horrible everything. They over charged for simple repairs. It takes them 3 times as long as they say, just to look at your vehicle, then they don't fix what you ask them to. Not impressed with any aspect of this shop. I went in for an oil change, tranny drain and fill, a/c inspection and a tire sensor reset. This ended up being $700 and 3 visits to get completed. If I ran my business like this, I would be broke. read more

The quality of service from customer service to the quality of work done is A+ I will only take my vehicles here for service simply because they are honest and will provide quality work, tip of the line parts and will only fix what needs to be fixed. I have taken my vehicle in for routine maintenance and asked to have all my fluids flushed and changed. I was told that all of my fluids were just fine and did not need to be flushed/changed, but if i wanted they would still do the work. Saving me a couple hundred dollars and walking away with just an oil change. Most businesses would just change the fluids and charge with no question asked. They always go above and beyond to make sure my vehicles are maintained and safe! read more

Went by this establishment to have a code ran on my vehicles computer and have it removed. This is a task that is performed for free by every shop I have ever gone to, but not here. The guy proceeded to tell me they have special equipment and would charge 75 dollars just to run the code for me. I was astonished, said no thanks, turned and started walking out. I guess it wasnt enough that he was trying to gouge me on price so he ends this unprofessional visit with a very snotty, condescending, comment "don't do thangs fo free round here". I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Good luck duping the elderly community in sun city Pete Nelson, you won't get any of my money with your unprofessional attitude. P.S. Apparently if you're not associated w/ DPS they treat you like dirt! My car was not a priority to them & took the over a week to tell me that they couldn't fix my car. I had a bent "I beam" on a Ford pick-up & they claimed they couldn't find the part. Luckily there are places like Chastain auto in Downtown Glendale that still know how to treat customers. To ad insult to an already disappointing experience, they charged my wife $65 (rack time) before they'd give her the truck. I'm sure if I'd worked for DPS they'd have figured out how to fix my truck. read more

Spoke with mgr Joe on the phone inquiring about replacing my front brake pads. He laughed and said it wasn't the brake pads, that they last over 100k miles. That's weird i told him I replaced them 2 years ago and the brakes get a lot of wear and tear due to long commute to work, and i know my vehicle. So since this shop is close to home i gave them a shot. Mgr calls me and says that i need new front brake pads and rotors. Weird my brakes aren't squeaking why the rotors. I told him didn't you just laugh at me when i asked you to replace pads. He wanted $500, so I picked up my car. He charged me $60 just for looking at brakes. I took it to Brake Masters in Peoria, and Jeff advised me that it only needed brake pads and the rotors were in great shape. Why would Pete Nelson Auto try to take advantage of someone that works 2 job to support his family? Please stay away. read more

I was traveling from California to Tucson when my engine light started blinking. I was on the 19 freeway and AAA sent me to two locations that were closed because it was Saturday. I had my 4 yr old grandson with me so I was starting to really panic. I called AAA again and they sent me to Pete's. I explained to Mrs. Nelson what happened and she went and told Mr. Nelson who came out and looked at my car immediately. After about 15 minutes he let me know that it was a spark plug going out he assured me I would make to Tucson. I asked them what I owed they so play stayed just travel safe. Both were extremely caring and I was extremely grateful. I was in a very vulnerable situation and they could have told me many things needed repaired and I would have had to believed them. I took my car in because the brakes were squealing. They replaced the front brakes and told me that was all I needed. On the way home, my brakes were still squealing. I thought that maybe they just needed time to seat or wear in. Time went by and the squealing never stopped. Just took it in again, and now informed the back brakes needed replacing. I question whether they did the job right the first time! Not very happy with quality of service. I know there has to be better out there! read more
