I love this gym because it has a great variety of equipment yet, is not overwhelming large. This location also features recovery areas which includes sauna room, excellent massage chairs, hydromassage chairs, tanning and red light therapy. There is also a small exercise room separate from the main area that contains equipment for a more creative workout (e.g. bands, balls, straps, punching bag, rope, stools , etc). Access to the smaller exercise room and recovery areas requires an additional fee to the basic membership fee. The gym is overall clean / well-maintained although there are a few cardio machines that seem to be chronically broken (e.g. still useable, but some buttons may not function). However, I am sure this is not atypical for equipment encountering such high traffic! I rarely encounter staff since it is 24-7 access (which is another perk for me), but on the few occasions that I have they always seem pleasant. Also, because the facility is key card access there have been times when there is a malfunction which prevents access to certain areas or even the gym itself. Thankfully these occasions have been rare. I definitely plan to continue attending this location and would recommend.

The class is free for women to attend and only $10 for men who's like to attend. This gym offers all different kinds of classes for boxing, aikido, Muay Thai, and tai chi. The professors/senseis team up The first or second Saturday of the month to teach a self-defense class for women. The class is usually from 1 PM to 3 PM and consist of maneuvers and strikes. They are very informative and very patient when teaching. They don't mind going over the techniques over and over again until you are sure you get it right. You definitely feel like you were in a safe space with people who truly care about you, trying to teach you. They check in with the students to make sure that nobody is uncomfortable especially for those who have suffered an attack before. I can't say enough good things about this particular class. The only reason I have not signed up for one of their aikido classes is because the schedule doesn't work for me. You can follow them on Facebook to learn about their lady safe events, give it a shot and that will help you determine if you would like to continue coming to this gym for other classes.

I started Muay Thai a couple of months ago and the training is impeccable. Learning from the ground up I have learned so much in two months. As much as I have always wanted to learn martial arts, I have always had a love for weight lifting and this place is perfect for that as well with a free weight room and many powerlifting amenities!! The best of both worlds, a great place to sweat, work hard on yourself, and learn about the arts. This place feels super intimate and you start feeling welcomed and comfortable after a few weeks. It's like a 2nd home for me :)

So I think this YMCA is really good in some ways, but less good in others. The front desk is really friendly and the cardio has Netflix, and had my sign in details, so that was good. On the other hand, they have big Jesus posters on the wall, and putting a banner in the cardio is lame. And there are a few issues such as are the kids coming around and cleaning the machines in the middle of the workout, and they were spraying their bottles and sweeping up dust and literally I could smell dust, made me sneeze, almost cough, during cardio, and literally I got sprayed (ew) with a little bit of spray (ew) but that's not the kids fault because they are being instructed to do so by the boss here, who was following them around, ordering them to clean more. They should be doing that when no one is working out because that's why we pay more than enough. And that stuff is toxic AF and it shouldn't be sprayed near me... let alone making me wet from spray... during my cardio. On the good side: The shower pressure is a huge thing and I appreciate that, even though a lot of the lockers are disappointingly reserved for members. It could easily have received a 3 star for the religion in my face and spray on my body and dust up my nose, but I'll generously give 4 because it was an otherwise good facility. The lifeguard wasn't in his place when the incident happened. The incident happened on the backside of the trainer and i am not convinced that the gulping happened for 4 secs. So there was a lapse in safety. 2. There is no emergency contact to report or talk to. Academy following paper and email approach but when a kid is shocked and stopped talking for quite sometime, you should have a proper communication mechanism with the manager or owner which isnt there. 3. I wasnt sugary to the front desk since i was very agitated but neither i used any unparliamentary words neither i was unruly.. aggressive approach isnt the right phrase..The lady at the front desk was rude. Instead of calming a parent she just shrugged off her responsibilities by giving a pen and paper. So training issues there. 4. Email from the manager was really really unacceptable. Next step I shall post that email to different forums to show how inconsiderate you are. 5. You asked not to accompany my kid which is unrealistic.. baseless allegations of past unruly behavior was cited with front desk when I literally spoke in length with the front desk person for the first time..

- Hygiene was hit or miss, both in the pool and other facilities. During our final lesson, the…read morewater was so murky that you could barely see the lines in the pool (photo attached). The bathrooms were so neglected that we usually opted to wait until we got home to change. Even at peak-pandemic, hand sanitizers and hand soap dispensers sat empty for weeks at a time. - Safety was another concern for me. We were comfortable in a 1:1 lesson, but some classes were larger with teachers dividing their attention. The lifeguards frequently had headphones in and were actively engaged with their phones, and were sometimes not even present at our evening lessons even with a full pool (photo of empty stand attached). - Scheduling became a nightmare towards the end of our time here. We had a weekly scheduled 1:1 swim lesson. During our last month, two regular lessons were cancelled (one after we arrived at the pool due to a no-show sub, and the other in advance because they couldn't find a sub.) We scheduled two makeup lessons, and BOTH were cancelled after we arrived due to hygiene issues in the pool. So, a total of four cancelled lessons in about a six week period, three of those cancelled after we arrived, and we were only offered a $30 refund. - The pool where lessons are held is small and often overbooked. Sometimes there would be so many kids in the pool that there was no room for a lesson, so my son would be taken to the larger lane pool and would have to wear a life jacket for the entire lesson even though he can swim independently. It defeated the purpose for us a bit. - Customer service was what really killed our experience. After showing up for a lesson and finding out that it was cancelled (see above, a frequent issue), I sent an email to the director of the swim academy asking for a refund of that lesson. The response I got was angry and highly inappropriate. I spoke discreetly with a few staff members who confirmed this is a frequent problem - the swim academy director is married to the owner and often causes issues with her unpredictable outbursts and rude correspondence. There are dozens of other reviews in local neighborhood/mom groups complaining about her behavior towards parents who try to bring up legitimate issues. It's a shame, because we loved my son's teacher as well as all the makeup teachers we had over the past couple of months. Unfortunately we just can't in good conscience continue to ignore all the red flags at this location.

Been coming to the Q for a long time now. Primarily I come for Crossfit but also take advantage…read moreof Yoga. The Crossfit program is great. I have been coming for over a year and have definitely seen a change in my fitness. It is like a family atmosphere which I really enjoy. I do yoga at the Q with Talei (Wednesday morning ms and Saturdays) and really enjoy that time. There are other times to do Yoga with Cindy but mornings and Saturdays work best for me. Overall it's a great place to be.
