I've heard about this place for a long time, and now we've finally tried it. In fact, in the time its taken me to write this review, we've been here at least three times. Here's my assessment. Upfront, great food and friendly service. The food is amazingly fresh and made in your presence. We've almost had all the dishes, and I do recommend virtually everyone of them. My favorite is the Mediterranean with peri peri chicken and cauliflower rice. Sometimes, depending on how busy they are, it might take a little longer than usual to get your food. Nevertheless, its worth the wait. The staff is friendly and speak both English and Spanish, so no worries if you don't speak the language. They also will help you to narrow down your self-imposed tough choices. The actual restaurant vibe is nice. It has a modern rustic, green ambiance that feels open but somehow still intimate. In the restaurant, seating is never really an issue. You can find seating inside or outside. The downstairs area is a coffee bar with additional seating that is a little more secluded if that's your thing. Also, the coffee is good too. My wife and I love this place for a lunch date. Consistently, we've come here and paid around €37 for two drinks, two meals, and one shareable app (get the sweet potato fries, they're phenomenal). Beware the bottled juice, though. Its small, taste like dirt, and is €5 no refills. Overall, great people, good food, and nice atmosphere. We've already been back and will continue to come back. Enjoy!

Needed a salad after days of eating seafood and bread Loved this place So many good salad options I got the salad with goat cheese and grilled/pickled red onions and candied walnuts and squash and ginger dressing, amongst other goodies on it. So fresh and rewarding and exactly what I wanted. Would love to come can and try everything this place has to offer!!!

The staff gave us a very detailed explanation, including what is popular and what flavor. The environment is very warm and the open kitchen looks very clean and unique. The coffee and milkshakes are great! The taste of this milkshake is very, very memorable to me.

After eating roasted meats and little to no veggies, I needed something hearty and healthy. Honest Greens was very welcome and I'm happy I found it. It's a local chain in Madrin serving fresh and flavorful food. I had the secret Caesar with herbed chicken and Guacamole and my partner had the falafel with the rice. We ordered first, then sat down. Not too long after, we received our food and we thoroughly enjoyed it!! Next time I'd live to sample some of their desserts.

Red and blue smoothie bowl ( SO GOOD)

This place is a great breakfast lunch and dinner place to eat at if you're in the area. The interior is so unique having a rustic style and has a large amount of area. The food is amazing and has a great presentation. I'd recommend getting their new red and blue smoothie bowl and a mint matcha latte they are both amazing. The food is also pretty healthy and nutritious. I'd recommend coming to this restaurant/cafe and having a nice meal with your family

Honest Green is my Nro. 1 health choice for food to go to in Madrid. The food is amazing. The healthy deserts are amazing, the humus and the grilled avocado are soo good also the sweat potato fries are amazing. Everything about it is great and I am so happy they just opened this location. I usually would go to the one in Chueca and the line is always huge but it moves fast. Also my favorite deserts are the Choco Coco and the protein balls are a must have.

They probably prefer it that way because the quiet vibe appeared to be part of the ambiance they're seeking here. We just found it by chance on Google Maps as an alternative to the beef-heavy eateries in the neighborhood. We just felt a need to eat healthier. The menu was small and appetizing, and we treated ourselves to two 3,5€ glasses of Zafra Blanco, a crisp Spanish white wine that freshened our palates. We started our meal with a complimentary helping of a "creamy" beetroot dip accompanied by lightly crisped pita chips (Photo 7). Next came the 12€ Spinach and "Parmesan" Croquettes, six lightly fried, falafel-like spheres drizzled with cashew nut mayo (Photo 8). They provided the ideal bites. Jamie went for their signature 15€ Moroccan Bowl with corn couscous, beetroot falafel, sweet potato, spinach, cherries, pickled cucumber, tomato, and fresh dates drizzled with mint yogurt sauce (Photo 6). It was quite a cornucopia of flavors that meshed quite well together with the falafels the particular standout. I decided to go for the 8€ Brochette of "Chicken" with chunks of zucchini and onion and satay sauce over a bed of sweet potato noodles (Photo 9). I'm not sure what the "chicken" was, but the flavor and texture was surprisingly spot-on. At the same time, I'm glad I limited myself to one skewer because I wanted to save room for dessert and the 4€ bottle of sparkling Green Apple Cider (Photo 4). Jamie and I settled on the delightful 6,5€ Tiramisu Cake dusted with Cocoa and swirled with Toffee (Photo 10). We finished our meal with 2€ cups of Cortado with the right amount of warm, steamed milk (Photo 5). Given that I was in town for a conference, I decided, To revisit them. First look, I was able to notice that the decor had received an update, the wall of turbans, the chairs etc all looked new and upgraded. We met our friendly host Koshy from Kerala, who had amazing Spanish, Hindi and Malayalam skills, which was nice and made us feel at home. On looking at the menu, found that The food items had also received a super update. We tried out the papdi chaat, was was wholesome and tasty. In the main course we picked the Paneer Tikka Masala [ even though it wasn't on the menu they made it for us ] and Veg Kofta. Both were made spicy on our request. The Peshawari Naan was refreshing and super tasty that went well with the spicy dishes, and we had sliced chili laden on the garlic naan as well. Overall all the dishes were super tasty, and very Well presented. Again with a cozy smile from Koshy !! The sparkler turned out to be the dessert which was Kulfi in a gaseous smoke and really mind blowing presentation. On eating it was super creamy and satisfying, just the way its Meant to be, nutty, creamy and heavenly. Overall, coming back to Swagath was a "Welcome [which is the literal meaning of the word Swagath]" and "Cozy host Koshy" made all the difference ! They were totally full when we arrived, and seemed to not want to let us know that there would likely be tables available soon. We asked to do take-out, which they enthusiastically obliged; 3 minutes after we ordered, many tables freed up. Lol. We got a barbacoa pizza and a vegetable pizza (each €14). The pizza came out in about 10 minutes. Both were tasty, especially the vegetable pizza, which had wonderfully marinated vegetables (peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and onions). The barbacoa was nice too, having vegan bacon, corn, and BBQ sauce. Solid spot for vegan pizza and other casual foods but done creatively and with class. Recommended.

Their menu is a great mix of classic Spanish eats (tortilla de patata, bocadillos) and crowd pleasers, like pizza and burgers. My favorites: -- Bocata de Calamares (8,50€) // This is a Spanish classic, and it's essentially a sandwich featuring calamari rings with a cream cheese-like spread on a baguette. Before you knock it, try it. It's literally so good, and the one at Pura Vida is easily the best vegan version I've had. -- Lágrimas de Heura (6,95€) // So, these are basically chick'n nuggets made with the most popular vegan meat substitute in Spain, Heura. They're perfectly sized little morsels, kind of like popcorn chicken size, and fried to an ideal crisp. The agave-mustard dip on the side is also incredible and balances out the richness. -- Pincho de Tortilla de Patata (3,50€) // If you haven't tried tortilla de patata in Spain, I'm not sure where you've been eating. It's a must. Out of all the vegan ones I've tried in Madrid, Pura Vida's is my favorite. -- Alemana Pizza (12,95€) // My friend was craving a pizza, so we went for the Alemana which is pretty simple with tomato sauce, cheese and vegan sausage. The sauce has a surprising depth of flavor and the cheese is good, too. I wouldn't hesitate to share a pizza again if I were in the mood for one. So, now that we've established that the food at Pura Vida is great, let's move on! Overall, I really like the vibe at Pura Vida because it's laidback but slightly above a true taberna, so it's a good spot if you want a solid dinner or just a bite and drink on the terraza. The only reason I docked a star is because the service can definitely lack. The servers often get overwhelmed or simply don't come by for like, literally, 30 minutes at a time some days. Price-wise, some dishes are a little higher than others but for the most part, it's reasonable. Pura Vida will continue to be one of our go-to places in Madrid, especially when we're craving some Spanish classics and a solid pour of vermut.
