I'm not sure why this place has such low reviews! It's a fast casual Indian spot, and apparently is a chain but multiple locations across the US. We came with a big group and got multiple things to share. We got the bhaubhali sandwich, veg noodles with gobi Manchurian, thali and the dabang dosa. Was in Raleigh area and was craving vegetarian food . Was happy to find a Honest restaurant close by . Coming from Edison NJ , we have had good experience with honest in Edison... went for lunch and it wasn't crowded . Good location and lots of parking outside . Nice rest rooms and easy to order . We had chola poori and it was really good ! Was surprised to see the poori , didn't have any oil in it . Was super dry and very delicious . Chola was awesome .. super hit - and loved the chola poori . We also ordered a thali .. it was average . I didn't like it much . Chapathi was good but chola for chappati didn't go well. Dhal was bland and less salt . Paneer was too sweet ! Rice was also too dry and I couldn't finish even half of it . Had dhal rice and pickle .. Gulab Jamoon was good . I've always been a fan of Honest foods after I had it the first time in Chicago. However I think this location has a long way to go. We got the pizza which wasn't bad but definitely lacked flavor. We also go the sandwich which was also okay and finally the Gobi Manchurian literally tasted like it was not flavored at all. Key point: add more masala/seasonings to the food! I think once this has been addressed this place will be a lot better. The service was good and the staff was very helpful in helping us decide what to order. Food came out in waves as it was prepared. The prices were not too bad def more than fast food. Plenty of parking outside as well and seating. Overall, I think I would like to try this place again in a couple months to see if anything has changed. However, as of right now it is very mid. read more

Honest is a great place to get some amazing Indian street food in the Mooresville/Cary area! And an absolute plethora of veggie options to choose from, as well as specific diet options such as a Jain diet or Swaminariyan diet, everything is clearly labeled on their menu. They have a bunch of different options such as dosas, Manchurian, noodles, Indochinese foods, soups and various other items! I personally love their sandwiches, this time I went they had a new item on their menu called a singham dosa and it was filled with essentially a paneer Tikka masala and veggies, covered with amul cheese which is India's most popular cheese. It was amazing! I love their chutneys as well, and I tried their bhakhri pizza which is basically a flatbread pizza it was okay, a bit too much cheese. Service is quick, they have a tab system at the register so you can order as you please and they keep water jugs on the table as well as utensils and napkins so you dont have to keep asking for things and you know it's also clean! I'm going to update my review to add a few items I didn't review in my previous posts. It's my 6th time here and the portion size isn't abysmal anymore. The Bhaji Pav has a size bowl (rectangular) which seems a little more consistent coming out. The katappa sandwich was superb, both chaats were delicious and the bhakri pizza was also a solid. I agree with the previous reviewer that the flavor profile on the bhakri pizza is lacking, the sauce needs a bit more masala and the pizza needs a little salt. Issue is that amul cheese is sightly lower on the saltiness and if you order anything Indochinese, you won't taste the salt in the pizza at all. Rava dosa is a showstopper especially when you get the onion chilli with the masala add-on at the $1.99 upcharge. I was really excited for this franchise after having tried it out in New Jersey. Pav bhaji holds a special place in my heart so I was excited that RTP will finally have a reliable spot for this Mumbai delicacy. We went here on the opening day for dine in and then did a pizza take out that weekend. There was a line of Customers and the place was full, meaning the Honest name had created enough buzz! Pav bhaji was good but the quantity was lesser than other Honest franchises. Pav was soft and I liked the bhaji taste. My husband liked this dahi puri plate as well. Veggie sandwich bread was super dry (either bread was left in open or stale) and veggies were minimal. I believe the price to value ratio is a little off as quantities don't do justice to the cost of dishes, especially sandwich and chaat. My biggest disappointment was the pizza takeout order. The cost was $11 ish with taxes but the takeout bag plus box weighed more than the pizza itself! The veggies were bare minimum on a small bread with cheese only half melted. It looked randomly put together. I was thoroughly disappointed. During our visit the staff was courteous! I hope they work on the quality of their food and the adjust the cost to reflect quantities or vice versa; this place really has potential based on the franchise if they take their food more seriously! read more

This restaurant unfortunately is a 3 star. The food is tasty but the service is not good. The service is actually 2 stars. We ordered 4 dishes including a chole baturi. We received three dishes promptly , but the last dish...they essentially forgotten about it. They kept on reassuring us that it will come. At least three other people who came after us were given a chole bature after promising us were were next. We actually were completely finished with the other food-at least 30 min after finishing the other food. Despite asking, they would not give a refund. We asked three separate times, but they would not cancel the order they had yet to give us. Any other restaurant would refund us for such a long delay, The service is nonsensical and unprofessional. Even if I found someone there to give this feedback to, I would not be confident they would care. read more

Had dinner with the family here, overall an average experience. There's a large variety of food. Some good, some not so good. Service was good, food served promptly and good quantity. Interior is nice and clean. We ordered a few things and shared amongst ourselves. Our favorites were the Kattappa sandwich, chilly garlic noodles and vada pav. Good balanced tasted is these We also ordered samosa chaat, onion chili uttapam, Chile bahture, and pav bhaji. These we didn't enjoy so much, there are definitely better options in the area for these. Some of the spices were over powering. We would go back, but probably try more of the info-Chinese and sandwiches. read more

My family went to dine in the first time soon after it opened and they noticed the lines were long and the place was crowded (which made them think it's a popular place). Overall the experience was disappointing. Given the hype of the place, the food did not meet expectations. Not sure we'll be back and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. The dishes ordered the first time are the following: - Sev Puri: disappointing dish. Lacked flavor. Don't recommend. - Pani Puri: the pani was cold, lacked flavor. Don't recommend. - Veg Noddles: this was an ok dish however did not stay true to street style noodles. Out of the three dishes, this was the only edible dish. The second time we ordered takeout of the following: - vada pav: vada was dry/cold and stale tasting. Seemed like it was made a day earlier. Came across Honest exploring different places in the area while visiting my friend in Morrisville. We didn't have to waste time looking for parking, plenty of parking spaces were available. We got there around 6:30pm on a Sunday evening. They were quite busy but the staff was quick and friendly therefore we got a table a short while. The ambiance was good and the restaurant was clean. Hubby and I decided to get the chef's special "Schezwan Paneer Dosa" and the Chinese Bhel (spicy) my daughter had the vegetable grill sandwich. All items were spectacular and on the spot for the spice level which is very important to us. All the items came hot and fresh. I personally enjoyed the mango lassi and the masala chaas which was perfect kick to my taste buds!! You can count on this place for the value of food, quality and price. The "butter" applied to the sandwiches smelled like Crisco. Chola bhatura the Batura was good but the chola lacked flavor other than heat and chilli pepper. Dosa had the veggies half cooked. Visited this restaurant with family. Ordered Spl. Pav Bhaji, Dahi Puri and Masala Pav Dry. Being from Mumbai, I and my wife used to miss eating pav bhaji and chaats (Mumbai Style) but now I can say that our search is over. This is going to be our regular spot. I'm a huge fan of the Honest in Atlanta and was really excited when Honest was coming to the RTP area. But boy, what a disappointment! This Honest is really expensive with portion sizes being very very less, unlike the Atlanta branch. My friends and I ordered pav bhaji, vada pav, bahubali sandwich, pizza, chili idli and the rose lassi. Everything seemed like it was cooked by somebody who was in the kitchen for the very first time. They even forgot to bring out part of our order and when we reminded them about it, they mentioned that their oven was down. Very surprised with this kind of service and the quality of food. Would not recommend visiting this place at all. Beware of all the positive reviews. They all seem to be from family and friends of the owner. read more

Week after week, this place is going downhill. Last week when I went for dinner, they asked our party of 5 to move to a table for 4 and told us to adjust there with an extra chair. They did have multiple tables for 6 available. Poor customer service. If they are really particular about who sits where, they should have somebody at the door do just that - show people to their table. They don't serve cold water. The hot and sour soup we ordered was in fact the diluted gravy from another Indo Chinese menu item. Their signature pav bhaji also tasted bad. I don't think this place will last longer. Unfortunately, the female owner of this establishment is prejudiced against customers with disabilities by not being autism-inclusive to autistic children. When we ate there recently about 2 weeks ago, a woman who said she is the owner accosted us about 25 minutes into our meal because my autistic 6 year old son (who is medically malnourished due to autistic food aversions involving textures) was sitting next to me at our table quietly & inconspicuously eating his chicken nugget happy meal from McDonalds, which is one of few foods on his safe-foods list that he will actually eat at the moment. While I can completely understand not wanting customers to bring non-vegetarian food into a vegetarian restaurant where many of its customers choose a vegetarian lifestyle for religious and/or moral reasons, this policy is still ableist at best & discriminatory at worst towards autistic children & other disabled people who can not and will not eat vegetarian food or anything they may even remotely suspect might contain a vegetable. Children do not have any control over the restaurant at which the adults in their families choose to dine, and they are clearly powerless to do anything about being taken to a restaurant that only serves foods that they're physically unable to eat. (And when it comes to food aversions among autistic children, it's not a behavioral issue of simply not wanting to eat something; they physically can not eat any food to which they have an aversion.) If a restaurant is going to have such a stark & rigid policy about bringing non-vegetarian food items into the premises even in cases of autism & disability, it should at least be CLEARLY written and displayed on the front door at the entrance of the restaurant, as well as on the restaurant's website. Autism is a legitimate & widespread disability, and the owner's attempt to humiliate & 'other' my child by suggesting to me that he should eat his food outside was both garbage human behavior & extremely unprofessional. She also attempted to trivialize and invalidate my son's autism when I explained his food aversions to her and that he will only eat items from a short list of safe foods (none of which are vegetarian) by telling me that her niece is also autistic and she doesn't have any problems eating their food. If this woman actually knew anything about autism, then she would understand that it is a SPECTRUM disorder & not all autistic children have the same disabilities or experience the same degree of severity in their impairments. I had to take my sweet little boy who did absolutely nothing wrong outside to finish eating his food in the car with the engine running for the AC because the temperature outside was 87 degrees. He was also very upset by the brash way the woman approached us at our table after we'd been sitting there for almost 30 minutes with no problems. He was embarrassed and couldn't understand why everyone else was allowed to eat their food comfortably inside the restaurant while the owner forced me to take him outside to finish his meal in our car. My family spent over $150 on food at this place only to have my disabled child humiliated & treated like a pariah. He is literally afraid to go out to eat now with my in-laws for fear that he is going to be thrown out of the restaurant. We will never go back to this place and I implore any of you moms here with autistic children who struggle with food aversions to boycott Honest RTP as well. Their food could be the best food in the world but any business that takes such a heartless, ableist & discriminatory approach to serving autistic children and their families doesn't deserve to stay in business. It's so hypocritical to value & champion the rights of animals so fervently while blatantly trampling all over the rights of a disabled child. Any restaurant that refuses to allow disabled people with documented food aversions to bring something from their safe-foods list inside the establishment to eat is guilty of ableism. Frankly, the onus of equality also lies on other patrons in a restaurant to both model and demand inclusion of their differently-abled peers who are simply trying to eat & enjoy being out at a restaurant with their loved ones. Complaining to management about a child eating a chicken nugget at the table next to you is just petty. Not all disabilities are obvious and many are invisible, so there's no way of knowing whether or not that child eating chicken nuggets is doing so because of a disability. It's time for those of who advocate for equality & the rights of the disabled to start calling out any establishment that would sooner kick an autistic child outside to eat his food in 87 degree heat than to allow flexibility & ensure inclusion for all in their policy-making. read more

I was so happy to find out Honest was coming to the RTP area! My family and I have been to many other Honest locations across the US and were super excited to try this location. First thing we noticed as soon as we walked in was the ambiance. I totally appreciated the vibe this place offers. It's not just four walls with standard tables. The owners have made an effort to add décor that makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. We arrived there for an early dinner (5:30) and there was still a significant crowd. We ordered the following items: Mango Lassi, cheese pav bhaaji, bhakri pizza, dosa and a grilled veg cheese sandwich. We enjoyed ALL of it! As the tables around us were getting their dishes, I caught myself staring because it all looked so good. The quality of food is exactly what I expect of an Honest brand restaurant. (The pizza sauce did seem a little sweeter than I remember.) The main reason I docked a star was because of it's pricing to portion size ratio. I feel like the quantity of pav bhaaji given as well as bhakri pizza for the price point was far different than other locations we've been to. I would rather give no stars as a review. Never go on a Friday that too when you are hungry . It is over crowded for its capacity and they are not able to manage at all!!!
