We went to Mirchi to celebrate our anniversary and ordered dosas for everyone, along with a goat curry for our child. The food was good overall, but the service was quite slow. The goat curry arrived after everyone had already finished their dosas, which was a bit disappointing. Also, dosas usually come with a refill of sambar, but we weren't offered any this time. The food was decent, though slightly cold, which can be tricky when multiple dosas are served together. That said, the ambiance was pleasant. Since the restaurant is close to my place, I'm willing to give it another try everyone deserves a second chance to redeem themselves. read more

I am only recently exploring Indian cuisine in the triangle and had a recent visit to Mirchi's. First of all the presentation and colors were beautiful for every dish. My favorites were the almond chicken shorba soup, salmon moilee, garlic naan, tender coconut delight, and aam ras mousse. Ate here late at night with a couple of friends. The interior is clean, laid back, and relaxed. Staff were very nice - came back to check on us, take our orders, refill water many times. It didn't ever feel like we were forgotten or interrupted too many times, which can be a difficult balance to achieve but they nailed it. They were kind and courteous and their attitude was welcoming and comforting. I got the boneless chicken biryani which was amazing. It was a lot of food (had enough for 2 leftover meals after) and came out hot. You can also alter the spice level to your taste. Great place, will be back! read more

We have gotten takeout from Mirchi's a couple of times and it's absolutely delicious! The flavor of the sauces is dynamite. I got the butter chicken masala a couple of times and really enjoyed it, and I've also sampled the lamb saag and the chicken tikka masala. I've gotten everything mild because I share with my toddler, but the butter chicken masala was surprisingly spicy the first time (and not so much the second time). This lovely restaurant is a true jewel in the Amberly neighborhood. We are trying to expand our palate and with the help and guidance from Mirchis we have learned to love Indian food. I have been meaning to write this review for ages! My family, friends, and I have frequented Mirchi's at least once a month since 2021. I would go more often if I could! I absolutely love Mirchi's! It is my favorite Indian restaurant in the area! The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is awesome! I love any of the paneer dishes, the cauliflower wings, dal tadka and basil garlic nan. My daughter and husband love the tandoori chicken, samosas and paneer. I often get our meals to go, but when we have an opportunity to come in to the restaurant, it is always a great experience. Most recently we took friends on New Year's. The gentleman who waited on us was so kind, generous and informative. It made the whole experience even better! If you are considering Indian tonight, go to Mirchi's! i came here with a friend when it was pouring out, and we arrived as soon as it opened, so it was pretty empty. the ambiance is nice inside, especially the bar area. i didn't order any drinks but i got the impression that that is really where they want customers to focus. i ordered the chef's special veg dosa, which the waiter told me was every type of dosa combined into one (onion rava mysore masala cheese dosa, basically). i decided to give it a try - i like trying "chef's specials" because i figure they're always what the chef is most proud of. this, however, was not really that special or even great. the dosa came pre-cut and each piece had only one of the promised iterations (one piece had cheese, one masala, one mysore masala, etc.). only some of the pieces had everything, and none of them was particularly special. it wasn't bad at all, but i've had much better dosa elsewhere - this was just okay. the sambhar was very good but that was about it. i might try it out again for a drink but if just for food, i wouldn't return to mirchi's. read more

I went there tonight after a very stressful week of...life. Sam was our server and he was a great blend of helpful, attentive and friendly. We friend both had a drink from the bar, and they were both wonderful! (And much needed). The bar tender was very good and also very friendly. Nice atmosphere and intimate restaurant but the food was subpar and quantities did not match price. Ordered the paneer tikka and fried fish for appetizers. Prices were standard for the RTP area but portions were very small and the fish was suppose to be battered yet most of it was just the fleshy parts. Ordered the malai kofta and chicken tikka masala. I'm almost certain I received butter chicken but the two dishes are done so similarly at restaurants despite there being a difference. It was much too creamy and tasted like butter chicken I've had but even then it was not great. Almost forgot to mention that half my dish was peppers and onions. Where the f was my chicken? Would not recommend to anyone unless you enjoy being ripped off. The only redeeming dish was the malai kofta. Edit: looking at others photo of the butter chicken, it looks exactly like my dish. On our recent visit - we didn't enjoy this place as well. The korma was too overcooked and basic. Dosa wasn't as great either - they leave out the masala for the customer to stuff in. Most places stuff the masala in. The lemonade is good. The restaurant is nearby. I hope they improve based on the suggestions. Ambiance is nice overall. I love the seating outside. We just learned that "mirchi" means "spicy!" They have a beautiful patio, with very nice furniture, but we chose to eat in for lunch yesterday. The service was efficient and friendly, and I loved my kadai paneer. Be careful, though. The menu doesn't have a "pepper" by the entree (a pepper means it's spicy!), but it definitely had a kick to it. If you don't like a lot of spice, you should ask before you order anything. My friend got the tandoori chicken. It was also spicy (and there was a pepper on the menu)! Masks are no longer required, but the entire staff was wearing them. They let us choose whether we wanted to wear ours. Ravi, one of the co-owners, came out to talk with us and told us they've only been open about three weeks and are still in their soft opening. He was quite proud of the place, and he should be! The decor is gorgeous, and even the place settings are a cut above what we usually see when dining out. He also told us that the owners and chef are very specific about the quality of spices and other ingredients they're using. They're still waiting on their liquor license, so the small bar is empty, for now. They plan to have a grand opening soon, and I'm sure it will be amazing! read more

If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out! My husband and I have traveled internationally and throughout the states and we can say this is the best Indian food we've ever had. The atmosphere was friendly, trendy, and sophisticated. Our server, Rahm, made us feel right at home and when I told him I wanted some delicious spicy chicken he knew exactly what to order for me. They had a variety of Asian, Middle East, and Indian cuisine options and a plentiful amount of vegan options. We split the samosa chaat and my husband said it was his favorite part of the meal. He had the butter chicken and I had mirapakaya. The chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender. If you've made it this far in my review, don't overlook this place! Chicken Biryani (to-go) Review - Quite flavorful and not lumpy like I've had in other restaurants. The flavor was NOT overpowering and NOT loaded with red chilly powder. The generosity of masala on rice could definitely be improved; nonetheless, it was not bland at any point. I enjoyed the flavors and despite my low spice appetite, I didn't find the biryani very spicy. The portion was relatively small. Love the atmosphere, very unique for an Indian restaurant. The samosas were perfect, the schezwan noodles were great, and the raita was really good. The main dish, paneer tikka masala, is the one I did not enjoy. The cinnamon was overpowering and it was very, very creamy. I consume A LOT of Indian food (just take a look at my Yelp review history), yet Mirchi still managed to wow me. It's tucked in a relatively quiet, residential area of west Cary, perfect for a laid back dinner. They have a nice outdoor seating area, but we opted for the booths inside. Our server Ramu was wonderful, super nice and even cracked a few jokes with us :) After flipping back and forth through the menu, we settled on Karampodi chicken (appetizer), Mirchi chicken curry, vegetable biryani, and some garlic naan. The appetizer came really fast, and it was a sizeable portion, enough to quell our hunger until the main course. My boyfriend and I both loved it, the chicken was probably deep fried since it has this starchy coat that was full of flavor. It almost reminds me of an Indian spin to ChongQing Spicy Chicken (辣子鸡). The curry was great, not too thick, medium spicy, and creamy! The naan was mediocre, it felt more like a thin chewy pizza dough, I like mine more fluffy and soft. My favorite was the biryani, not sure what magic they cast on this rice dish but it's quite possibly the best I ever had. The rice wasn't mushy but definitely cooked down enough to absorb the flavor. They probably added every spice under the sun in here, it was THAT good. Definitely worth a try! read more

Honestly we almost walked out because the service was so slow and not welcoming, luckily it eventually got better (I do want to mention that it was not busy). For our entrees it was the butter chicken with garlic basil naan for me, the sweet corn soup with chicken and plain naan for my husband and the murgh malai kebab for my mom. This is our first visit here Th ambience is great. The indoor space is modern and well decorated. They also have a decent size patio outside. We started off with the spicy baby corn. It was deceptively spicy. The first few bites may not feel spicy but it does hit you (in a good way). Will tale a glass of water to get it out. The spices were on point. I think the dish could have taken slightly more salt and the taste would have been elevated. We also had the gobi manchurian which was tasty. It is available only as a starter I though out preference is to have it with gravy/saucy along with noodles. Tasted good. The street style egg fried rice was an interesting spin on Chinese and Indian spices. Must try once to see if it appeals to you, rwader. It did to me. The hakka noodles were ok. There was a pasty consistency that I can't lay my finger on. Slightly on the blanket side. All in all a good experience for a new restaurant. I don't even know where to start. This is probably one of the worst Indian restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We went here famished, after taking my son to a nearby park. When we entered there were a few people, but it wasn't busy. We got seated but our server didn't come by promptly to take our order. I had to call him. Below are the items we ordered with review: - mango lassi: my son enjoyed this, pretty basic, can't go wrong with this - veg manchow soup: no idea what this was, but it didn't taste like manchow and it wasn't appetizing. It was sour and spicy. - chicken tandoori: lacked flavor, no salt, didn't taste good with or without chutney - Harippa Paneer Tikka: lacked flavor and didn't taste good with or without chutney - veg Hakka noodles: this is the only meal that gets the one star. But who can go wrong with Hakka noodles, it's a basic dish with no spice. It came with a schzewan sauce which was nice - chole bhature: chole wasn't great, it had pieces of raw onion which wasn't didn't taste great. Bhatura was good Ambience was ok but service was very poor. We had to keep calling the server to get us a plate or serving spoon. At the end he got the check without a pen, at this point I just used my own pen and we were ready to leave. We got the chole bhatura for my son and each dish arrived at different times and overall it was slow! I doubt I'll go again or recommend this place to anyone. Mirchi's recently opened in Cary off of Green Level Church Rd in the Publix shopping center! I went in for dinner tonight and tried their Mirchi's Special Goat Curry and Chicken Dum Biryani with a mango lassi. It was delightful! If you love spicy food, make sure to ask to make it spicy. Also, absolutely loved their beautiful outdoor seating! They are practicing social distancing, all were wearing masks, and there were hand sanitizers on the tables.
