I have been waiting to try this place for so long and it did not disappoint! We went on a busy Saturday evening and were seated within 30 minutes. Despite how hectic and chaotic the restaurant was, we were still treated with excellent customer service. One thing to note, and I'm not sure if this was because of how busy they were, but we all got our food at separate times. So rather than eating all together, we ate bits and pieces of each dish as they came to our table. As far as food goes: Indian-Style Bhakri pizza: 4.5/5 classic amul cheese, toppings and sauce. This really satisfied my craving. Only one thing- the bhakri based was really hard and brittle, very hard to break. A below-average experience is the summary of my experience. This is a popular Indian food joint in this part of the city and we went in as a mid sized group on a weekend evening. My group had a few kids and we had no issues in finding nearby parking. The ambience was average with tight seating and decent interiors for a quick service restaurant. The pricing was slightly pricey but not excessively expensive. Now for the important things: The lady at the booking desk was rude and that was just the beginning. Every other person in the store was arrogant and rude. The food was bland and they brought the check even before everyone had finished eating in our table. We were asked to quickly vacate the table as there were people waiting outside. Icing on the cake was that the person managing the bakery made a comment on how much we earned when asked about the reason an item was priced significantly higher than what we usually see at similar shops. Well best eating place for vegetarians in Dallas. We had had dinner their since we need to eat only veg We have ordered multiple dishes from dahi puri to chole bhature. Dahi poori was nice and delicious and same goes for chole bhature. I personally like bhature finally properly fried bhatUUre buut chole could be better but still it tastes nice. The highlighted dish was Dabbang dosa which is highly recommended by my friend but we were little disappointed with the same. It's all cheese nothing feel like dosa bug it was quiet interesting fusion but this could be better. Just a disclaimer - this review is my personal opinion. I would recommend anyone that likes Indian flavors to check it out and judge for themselves. First of all there was about a 25-30 minutes wait time. It was busy so we were hopeful. When we did get seated, we shared the table with 2 other parties. Due to this, there was some confusion when food came out. We got the pan bhaji as it was highly raved about. Personally we thought it was okay. The pav was good but it was sweet and very buttery. The bhaji was also good, but I've definitely had better. Mind you, I do not recall what pav bhaji from the food carts in India taste like since it has been so long since I've visited, but I thought this was just ok. Personally did not think it was worth driving 20 minutes and waiting an additional 25 minutes. We also got the regular pulav. Did not get the Honest Special pulav because I dont like whole raisins and cashews in my food. Again, the rice was good but it was very buttery and heavy. I was only able to eat a few bites of the rice and a quarter pav with bhaji and I was full. I've heard some say the portions are small, but I felt all portions were shareable sizes. Overall: I would not go out of my way to come eat here, but I would give it another chance if I am ever in the area. I would like to try the sandwiches or chaat. Came here for dinner around 6:30pm on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately. We started with the papdi chaat, which was amazing. The chutneys were very flavorful! For my main dish, I got the rava onion masala dosa. It was pretty good, but the sambar had a little too much oil. I also wasn't a fan of the coconut chutney, it didn't have much flavor. We ended dinner with the malai kulfi falooda. They put chunks of kulfi in a glass with falooda. I really enjoyed the dessert, and will definitely get it again! Ten minutes after being seated we had to flag someone for menus. We ordered cheese aloo vegetable sandwich grilled and the bahubali sandwich with idli, pav bhaji , vada pav and sugarcane juice. The waiter came back after 5 minutes to say that they didnt have any idli left, so we ordered dosa and requested it be made soft, since it was for our toddlers All the food arrived in 15 minutes or so except the dosas we ordered. We finished our food and still no dosa for our kids - after 20 minutes and flagging multiple people about it, they said they would check but no one came back with an answer We loved our sandwiches, the vada pav was great too,the pav bhaji was great, we ordered additional pav, they came back to say they had no pav left, we wanted to order more sandwiches instead, they said they were out of bread, all this within 1 hour of opening time. 4 stars for their food, but 3 stars for their service and not having enough food right after opening. We went to Honest the first week they opened. For those who don't know - Honest is a very popular vegetarian restaurant chain from India. They are famous for their Pav Bhaji (mashed vegetables in a Indian spices and butter). Given its reputation, we expected a wait and sure enough we waited almost 45 minutes. The situation was a bit chaotic but more attributable to the waiting customers versus fault of the management. Upon being seated, we ordered some of the staples from their menu such as Pav Bhaji, Pulav (Indian rice with vegetables) and some sandwiches. Sadly their full menu was not available so our selection was bit limited. The Pav Bhaji was good but definitely NOT exceptional or worth the hype. I know Pav Bhaji from years in Mumbai and this version was below par. Ironically one of the things lacking in it was butter! Advice to management - you are in the US, where butter is cheap so try not to skimp and cut corners. The Pav Bhaji also was overly heavy on potato and light on vegetables. The sandwich we got - Bahubali - was actually the highlight of the dinner. It had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Again a bit disappointingly, it came was potato chips from a bag instead of French fries. We tried Honest in McKinney for the first time after personal recommendation and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Tried their takeaway service which was excellent as when we arrive home after a 10 minute drive, the food was still hot. We tried the following dishes with rating out of 5. This is probably one of my favourite restaurant in town. Their pav bhajis taste wonderful which is expected as that is their cup of tea. But the pulav and Chinese bhel topped the charts. The owner of the restaurant does not care about food quality. We drove 15 miles to have paav bhaji and the bhaji served was as tasteless as it could get. It has no tomatoes and taste more like aaloo sabji. When we complained to the waiter, he in-turn spoke with the manager the owner who just shrugged his shoulder. I was not expecting a refund but atleast the guy could have come to our table and issued an apology with a promise to make it right next time. The packaging should be done at the back some place. One order of Dosa arrived much earlier than the other order and so one person had finished their meal by the time the other person started. Go figure! Please do not order onion Kulcha, it will uncooked, oily and soggy and the 'extreme onions' will be pouring out of the kulcha. Big mistake for my first time coming here. Now I'm thinking it may be my last. The stars i gave were for the Dosa so I recommend getting Dosa at this place. However the chutneys and sambhar are not exceptional and the ambiance needs some organization, proper lighting and less chaos. The dining hall is divided into three sections which makes no sense. One on the left side of the reception area and one facing the front door and in front of this huge dividing table for their meal prep fi takeout and one behind the meal prep table. Lets face it, this is a newly opened restaurant currently experiencing a fad in DFW area. Food is not excellent as many of the reviews appear to imply. I would candidly give it 6, and that was majority opinion in our party of 30. Staff is excellent but short in supply, very courteous, but obviously overwhelmed. But worse thing about the restaurant is the owner. Just Plain RUDE RUDE RUDE. He basically wants you to swallow the food get your ass out of there for the next customer. In party of 30 people, we just wanted to take a group pic, but His Majesty the Owner came to tell us to hurry us and leave so that he could seat next round. In time, the fad for restaurant will be over, and it will become just another restaurant on the block, however mistreatment of customers will have its lasting impact. My husband ordered for Katappa Sandwich (sandwich was as fierce as its name) it had a lot of cheese , some potato stuffing , chuntney and veggies it tasted good but was lot on the plate , I ordered for Sev puri and vada pav . Sev puri tasted good but I felt it was a little cold and my favourite was the vada pav it looked pretty good and tasted awesome and last but not the least we ordered for filter coffee a South Indian style coffee that was ok interiors were simple nothing unique except for the coasters they have on every table which gives u a glimpse of streets in India , that was really nice I liked the service it was very quick !
