    Kattappa Grilled Sandwich

A little late in giving my "HONEST" review especially after visiting a million times( I guess that's a little too much but you get my point :) ). I and my husband both love the food here - from chat to pav bhaji to thali, I haven't tried 100% of the items but I believe have tried a lot of them. And believe me, one of my fav Indian "consistent " restaurants in the neighbourhood. Every time I have been there, I have never been surprised in a negative way, food always tasted the same. I truly enjoy their sev puri, pav bhaji, grill sandwiches, dabang dosa, and oh my god their "mutter methi malai" with Onion kulacha is delicious. One of the servers had recommended and ever since I haven't stopped ordering. There have been higher wait times when I come after 7.30 -8pm but mostly I get seated quickly. The best time is to come around 6.30 so everything is pretty quick. Glad to have this restaurant closer to where I live ^_^

Honest is famous for it's Indian chaat (street food) and the occasional vegetarian entrees. This time around, I saw something peculiar in the menu and wanted to try it out; the weekend Thali. We visited this place on a weekend night and I must say this was packed with people and the wait time was hovering over 20 minutes. We were a party of 4 and were contemplating whether to dine in or take out but allure of the Thali hooked us all in to wait it out. The Thali consisted of 2 curries (paneer + potato and Eggplant), rice, dal, papad, choice between roti and naan paired with a desert. They also have a la carte menu along with desert menu which consists of cakes and pastries. Talking purely about the thali, the food was fresh and delicious. Honest, despite being so famous for it's appetizers and chaat offerings, surprised all of us with this thali. Everything on the plate was so yum that we finished every last bit of food on the plate. Despite not being a traditional Thali place, the food offered was above the mark, and frankly, exceptional. Another plus was the service here; impeccable. From start to finish the servers were attentive and courtious. Even though the food was the main selling point here, not everything is perfect about this particular location. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and feels congested; the tables are arranged very close to each other and there's barely any room to walk around. The parking situation also is limited. If you happen to be at this place during the weekends like we did, expect a long wait time. Honest impressed me with it's Thali and the impressive service. Everything was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Although the restaurant feels a bit cramped, the food more than out-weights the flaw. The weekend thali is an easy recommendation and can be enjoyed with family, friends and colleagues alike.

This has got to be my favorite Indian restaurant ever! I'm so sad they don't have one in Austin but I stopped by here in Dallas and it was amazing. They have done a great job capturing the flavors of Bombay street food (the pani puri water was perfectly spicy and minty) and maintaining great taste with their own twist (the pineapple jam in the bahubali sandwich was exceptional). Besides the sandwich we got pani puri, two plates of dahi puri because the first one was so good (they use fresh puris!), Chinese bhel, Punjabi thali and the cheese pizza. The food hit the spot perfectly (maybe not the pizza, needed more veggies) and I'm so glad I got to experience a little bit of Bombay in Texas. I also got their theplas and dhokla for home, I have tried the thepla yet but the dhokla wasn't the normal moist and slightly sweet which was disappointing. Regardless I highly recommend this place!

If I wasn't stuffed I would have wanted to try so many items off the menu. Delicious vegetarian food with street food dishes that is not only a feast for the senses but also good in portions. The cake counter has eggless cakes and several Indian sweet options too. Busy but staff were super friendly and food came out quickly. Wishing they would open locations in Arizona!

Don't know if this is the same as the one in Artesia but the food here is much better. Service is a little iffy but not bad. The fresh sugarcane juice is a must have. Great chaat and dosas. Nice decor and ambience.

Interesting concept with good food! As you walk in, you are greeted with warm decor reminding you of local Indian cuisines. The kitchen is visible and so is the honest commitment of the restaurant owner to use good quality foods and serve their customers. We ordered a few items to get a variety of tastings, but our favorite was the chat items: Dahi puri, Raj Kachori, and vada pav The bahubali sandwich was overwhelming with the "processed cheese" toppings most commonly used in India. And the dosa Dabang rolls were interesting as well. Overall good food, it we will be back for the chat!

Super big restaurant, plenty of options and friendly staff. I just wish the food had a little more spice but it was all delicious. My family and I come here once a month for sure

I can't tell you what we had, but it was good. The service was friendly and fast and we plan on coming back for more. The platter was a Thursday special, but I don't remember what the sandwich was called. Give it a try!

Food: Flavor packed food! The food all came out hot and fresh. The pav bhaji and dahi puri were my favorite and really hit the spot. The black pepper and amul butter in the bhaji really added some flavor. I prefer the regular pav bhaji over the special, which contains dry fruits. The dahi puri was really well filled and exploded with chutney and dahi (yogurt). My mom ordered a sandwich, it was good, filled and topped with lots of amul cheese, IYKYK Service: Very friendly! And quick! The food started coming out one after another. My parents and I shared everything we ordered so there was no waiting for us. We just dug right in. Ambiance: Monday night and there was a wait at 8pm! It was lively and fast paced. A throw back to India, and I say that in the best way.

I placed my order, but the team here seems really disorganized...even spacey. I wound out up waiting 15 minutes for the most disappointing nachos I've ever had. I remember having nachos at the dollar theaters in the 80's and 90's, and that would've been a massive upgrade from the dish I was served. Never confuse vegan with healthy, the two are not mutually exclusive, so when you are eating nachos from here being in the saltiest most basic chips, do not be surprised. They are just the base to the monstrosity that is Vegan Vibrationz nachos. While there was definitely care in assembling the nachos, the flavors were just not great and the time it took to get the nachos was just ridiculous. The main binder was a slightly spicy sauce squirted on some lettuce and tomato with beans. I really think my order was forgotten and then when I was inquiring about it over and over, they finally assembled the nachos. Overall, not the best experience and the nachos were blah. I love the idea of a vegan place to eat at Legacy Food Hall, but the food and the service here missed the mark.

I have been a fan of True Food for a LONG time, but this most recent visit left me disappointed. The menu still offers many "healthy" options, but while the princes have gone up (to their credit everyone is raising prices) what really gets me is the portions have become so much smaller. My $25 Tuna Poke bowl was delicious, but was the size of an appetizer. I was still so hungry when I was done. I would have ordered a side or additional appetizer to fill me up but between my bowl and $15 margarita I was already looking at a bill close to $50! At the end of the day I give them 3.5 stars because the food is good, the food is fresh and they offer good gluten free | vegan | dairy free options. However, the drinks are weak and are mostly ice, the cost for the portions is so high and you'll likely leave hungry but spent over $50/person after all is said and done. I would eat at True Food again, but I probably wouldn't choose it as my first option.

This place is cooking with purpose, flavor, and a boldness that puts even the most seasoned soul food spots on notice. Let's talk about that Fried Chick'n. I've eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life real, seasoned, Southern, bone-in, boneless, you name it. And not one has made me stop mid-bite and say, "Wait... this is vegan?" The outer crisp was perfection golden, light, and just enough crunch to command attention. But the inside? Soft, juicy, meaty. They didn't just imitate chicken. They improved it. Fool me any day if this is the standard. But I didn't stop there. I went full Sunday plate on a Saturday: Cornbread dressing: Moist, savory, and nostalgic in the best way. Yams: Like dessert, but not overly sweet. Silky smooth and soul-warming. Collard greens: Seasoned like somebody's auntie who don't measure nothing but knows exactly what she's doing. Mac and cheese: Creamy, rich, layered, no shortcuts, no weird vegan aftertaste, just yes. Everything on that plate was so good my foodie partner had to physically stop me from diving in face-first. Had they not pulled me back, I would've left with nothing but crumbs, a smear of yam glaze, and regrets for not documenting the magic. The space itself at the Frisco Fresh Market is welcoming laid-back but intentional. The service and energy is grounded in community, flavor, and something sacred that goes beyond food. This isn't just about being plant-based, it's about being rooted. Chopping Roots is proof that vegan soul food doesn't have to compromise. It just has to be done right. And they absolutely did it right. Frisco, you've been blessed. Don't sleep on this spot. #HayiaSophiaFaves #ChoppingRoots #VeganSoulDoneRight #FlavorOverEverything

We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., and surprisingly, we were the only customers there, considering it was peak dinner time. We also discovered that we needed to pre-order the duck in advance. Luckily, the lady informed us that there was one available for us, but it would take about 30 minutes. We ordered the crispy cucumber salad, xiao long bao, and the dry-fried string beans. The dry-fried string beans were my favorite. The string beans had a delightful crisp texture and a flavorful taste. The cucumber salad was also good, but some parts were a bit soggy. The XLB skin was too thick and chewy, and it didn't taste like the usual soup dumplings, which was disappointing. I was excited for the duck, but I was honestly disappointed when it arrived. The portions were quite small, considering it was a whole duck. It wasn't carved tableside, which was a letdown. Some parts of the duck were dry, and the skin wasn't crispy enough. To add to the disappointment, they charge extra for almost everything. If you want more pancakes or their homemade duck sauce (which tasted like black bean sauce), you'll have to pay an additional $5. Another thing to note is that they are BYOB, so you can bring your own alcohol. However, the menu pictures on Yelp are outdated, and they only offer whole Peking duck, not half orders. Overall, the food was just okay, and I'll probably try a different spot when I'm in the mood for duck again.
