First time in a long time that I go somewhere where everyone looks genuinely happy to be there. I loved it. They were busy but still managed to check in on us every few minutes. The food was excellent, arrived quickly, and the meal started off as a great experience. Unfortunately, the service took a turn that completely changed my impression. Our server came over and asked if we needed anything. As I started to answer, she interrupted me before I could finish speaking, turned to another customer beside us, and started a conversation with them. I was completely talked over and ignored. All I needed was some ketchup, which happened to be sitting right next to her, so I grabbed it myself. After I had already gotten it, she looked back at me and said, "Now what was it that you said?" There was no acknowledgment that she had interrupted me or ignored me. It's unfortunate because the food was genuinely great, but customer service is just as important. The biscuit itself was huge, fluffy, and practically cloud-like, while the sausage gravy was perfectly seasoned and packed with savory flavor. The bacon blue cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and balanced so well with the blue cheese and thick strips of bacon. No sad little fast food bacon bits here. The Fall French toast had an amazing crisp to it. Personally, I felt like there was almost a little too much happening flavor-wise to fully enjoy it all together, but the warm apple slices with the cinnamon raisin bread were absolutely delicious. The staff was amazing from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant itself is small, but it felt cozy rather than crowded. We enjoyed and shared bites, notably pleased with our choices. My entree was tender and easy to cut with a fork and topped with a beautifully seasoned gravy. It took forever to find a place to eat out on Sunday morning but we decided here after a thorough google search. Parking was a nightmare and the waitlist was thriving at 25 minutes long, but it was Sunday so I understood. We put our name on the list and waited outside in the cold next to the heater that wasn't emitting any heat. Our name was called after twenty minutes and we were sat next to the door (not my fave) at a large table. A couple was sat at the same time as us at the other end. We both got our menus at the same time. But long story short: by the time they were done with their meal, check on the table and everything, we had finally received ours. It was very annoying given that we were sat at the exact same time. The cinnamon roll was lackluster. All of the lovely frosting that you hope for/expect was melted into a flavorless grease. The corned beef hash was a strange consistency being made with shredded hash instead of traditional cubed potato but that was their choice and it's not the best. The French toast on the kids menu did not mention that it was crusted in cornflakes and I think if it weren't for the fact that my daughter was so hungry, she wouldn't have ate them. They were what you expect: crunchy French toast bites. Our server never returned after dropping off the food, only at the end to clear plates and give the check. It was a disappointing experience and even more disappointing that we had to tip on that kind of service because we're those kind of people. Clearly he didn't deserve it. Exceptional stop today for breakfast. First of all, we think Becky is the BEST!! She explained the menu and even showed us entrees being delivered to the table next to us. Because of her help, we made great choices: Eggs Benedict and a chorizo scramble with a Waldorf pancake. Delicious!! The building is historic and the restaurant is comfortable. One of the few Yelp establishments that I would give a bonus 6th star to if I could -- it was incredible. The Pop's Special was a delicious mix of eggs and protein, the Honey's Hawaiian French Toast was tasty, the breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned, and the pancakes were fluffy. Even the toast was delicious. It's rare to say that every single bite of a meal was top-notch, but Honey and Co delivered just that. We were visiting Salem OR and really wanted to experience a different breakfast eatery. So, of course, found the Honey & Co online. Regretfully the food was average at best. The homestyle potatoes had a spoiled-ness taste to it, and the server, Pam, was not so friendly. She did not ask me what I would like to drink and she even placed my bill and credit card on the table then proceeded to slide it away from me even though she knows I was the person that handed it to her! I've heard big things about this place taking over the number one spot for brunch over word of mouth or sassy onion... but honestly I'd disagree. Service was good and nothing to complain there. But the food was mediocre. I felt that the food my wife and i ordered we could have easily made at home without effort. Usually when we go to brunch spots we are looking for places that knock it out of the park and this food did not. Ambience was fine, small and crowded but that doesn't bother us. This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The staff are amazing and the food is excellent. Donna the owner is just the nicest person you'd ever meet. She's amazing. Kat and Micah are terrific as well. We've been coming here for years. Donna has been here from way back when it was Busick Court up until she and her husband bought the restaurant and changed the name to Honey & Co. Donna still provides the best customer service. I cannot recommend Honey & Co highly enough. When we go here we feel like we are visiting family and friends, which they have become. Here is a pic of the Prime Rib Benedict with shredded has browns that I had for breakfast last week. YUM! I know that this place is really busy on the weekends. We go during the week due to my work schedule. We try to dine here at least weekly. Sometimes twice to three times a week. Honey & Co is THAT GOOD. Now that the city of Salem is charging for street parking I find that it is much easier to find a parking spot. The city does provide a free parking structure, but I prefer to park right out front of the restaurant. It's nice to have a great breakfast and go walk around downtown. We were in Salem and tried this place. The menu was all over the place. There was some of menu that was on the wall and some in the menu. I would perfer it all in one place. I got an omelet which was delicous. They put potato chips on it which I missed when ordering. I just brushed them off. It is the only thing I did not like about my omlete. Coffee was great and strong. They were busy but service was good. Love the historic feel and love the brick. We only had to wait 10 mins on a Saturday to be seated. Not a bad wait. We also got something like Huevos Ranchos. That was also pretty good. Their portions are a good size for me and they serve toast with most items.Their prices are reasonable. Out order was taken at least 10 minutes after we sat down. We were not checked on once, but our water cup was filled up multiple times so that's good. Food was good but not wait over 45 for it good. I was very excited giving the recent reviews, but unfortunately I left unimpressed. It was busy, but regular for a Saturday at 11AM. It was only a 15min wait for two. Tables are pretty tight, think bistro style. I ordered a latte with elderflower (against the servers recommendation but I wanted to try) and my friend ordered the butterscotch latte. When they arrived at the table the server was unsure which was which and while I could tell by a bit of butterscotch flavor they were both extremely light. It took a long time for food to come out, despite the crowd thinning. I ordered the French omelette with prosciutto and Boursin, and as much as I love that cheese I felt it was too much. I upgraded the potatoes to be loaded, and while some of the bacon was cooked beyond crispy, they were the star of the meal. My friend ordered the chorizo and eggs and put them on top of the potatoes. Great choice, though if you're looking for chorizo in Salem there are many more authentic options. Maybe I just didn't order the right things. I would perhaps return to try the mimosas, the flavors they had listed seemed amazing, and for only $8. read more

My girlies and I went to Honey for the first time recently. We thought everything was pretty darn fantastic. I asked for extra crispy potatoes and they were just that. That was my only request and they hit the nail on the head. Just sayin. I would recommend this LOCALLY OWNED business for sure! It's worth the wait. And let's not forget if a place is jam packed, one must think about the staff running their tails off to get orders placed, cooked and out to you and not complain about having to wait! Our second time to eat in what I'm certain is going to become a regular spot when we do breakfast out. Knowing it would be busy and that we were meeting my dad, we got there earlier than that typical Salem Saturday morning breakfast rush so my dad wouldn't have to stand outside to wait (yes, it is that good and if you are able you should totally stay the wait if there is one). We were greeted by the owner who made us feel completely welcome as we waited for the rest of our party. Today I went with the server recommendation of corned beef hash and eggs and chose a biscuit and gravy as my side. The hash was excellent and the biscuit came home for tomorrow's breakfast (I had one on my first visit, they are amazing BTW). My husband, who is particular about his eggs benedict went with the traditional this time around...on the drive home he said it was definitely in his top rankings as it was one of the best he has ever had. This place was amazing! From the friendly gentleman that took our name for the waitlist, which was worth the wait and not too long! The atmosphere was cute, not overly decorated, but simply stated and nicely done. The woman that took our drink order was so nice and the drinks, WOW, their Bloody Mary was beautiful with great vegetables and the pumpkin spice latte was perfect. The waitress that took our order was again equally as lovely as everyone we spoke too. Ok the food, my goodness, it was spectacular! Country fried steak and a biscuit with gravy for the husband, I had avocado toast with fruit and we shared some loaded potatoes. The quality of food was excellent, the preparation was superb the service provided was excellent, even offering more gravy for the small amount of biscuit that was left.
