Honey Bear is a Swanton standard for over 40 years. It's a drive-through/ outside line ice cream stand. The ice cream is great, but the real surprise is the breadth of the meal options. Few ice cream parlors offer salads. The only downside is the speed of food versus ice cream, so it's easy to fill up on sugar before getting something healthier if you don't split up your order. Honey Bear also has a decent play set for kids waiting for food and plenty of picnic tables. The quality of food is great too. This unique combination of qualities means Honey Bear really stands out from other ice cream stands out amongst the majority of ice cream stands I've seen across Ohio. It is illegal in Ohio to post one price and charge more... yet all your prices are not accurate and haven't been for weeks. Either quit being lazy and update your signs or charge what they say the prices are. Not the employees fault, the owners. read more

Just as good as I remember. Service is quick and everything is offered for an extremely affordable price. There is something for everyone here, picnic tables to eat at, and a playground for the kiddos. There is also a drive thru for quick stops. Highly recommend! *CASH ONLY!! read more

I love the Honey Bear!! I have been going here for many years whenever I am in town visiting. The flurries are great. I got a chocolate with peanut butter mixed in and it was PERFECT. just the perfect amount of peanut butter distributed evenly throughout. I got a small for $3-something and it was HUGE. Everyone says this place is the best in town but not for me. Never going there again. I have only been there twice and this summer was my second time and last time. I went there and got mint or mint chip I don't remember. I was eating it and got a hard piece. I thought it was just a chocolate chip so I kept eating it. But then I realized It wasn't chocolate. There was bits of plastic in it. There was at least five pieces. Never going there again sadly. read more

There is almost no treat I crave more in life than a Peanut Butter Cup Snowdrift. Every season it's a bit of a toss up for staff. Sometimes the teens are awesome. Sometimes they are angsty and annoyed. This year was a good year! They've also taken gluttony to new heights with their drive through, which makes it perfectly acceptable for me to get ice cream without pants or pride, and I love that about them. read more

Just went there today for the first time in years. My fiancée got a taco salad and the chips must have been leftovers from last year. They were so stale she could barely break them up. Called the order in, the girl on the phone was completely rude and then at the counter the girls weren't much better. I can deal with someone not being super friendly but the quality of the food we got was not acceptable and it's safe to say we don't plan to go back for food or ice cream. How in the world am I the first to review Honey Bear? HB is one of the best seasonal ice cream shops in the area. You get huge portions for very reasonable prices. All the ice cream products are great, and the customer service is great too. One time while we were sitting outside, the manager came up to us and gave us gift certificates for our next visit. Every Fall I am sad when they close and every Spring I anxiously await their reopening. Seriously. read more
