Arrived at 9:31 and was standing at the window waiting to order instead of the girl opening the window to tell me that they were closed she decided to slam the "Sorry we're closed" sign in the window. Best ice cream around. People say it seems expensive but the portions are huge!!!! A small is the size of most places medium and some places large. I only order smalls flurries/sundaes myself anything bigger and I throw away half. I love their cookie dough flurries and the Heath bar sundaes. As a kid their chocolate dipped cones where a must have and for the kids they put candy eyes on them. The lines can get stupid long but it's worth the wait and even better to go at non rush times. read more

You know that winter is over when Mel-O-Crème opens for the season, even if there is still snow on the ground. Mel-O-Crème does all things well - hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, ice cream, sundaes and flurries. Their prices have gone up in recent years, so it has become more of a treat than a staple. Timing is everything at Mel-O-Crème, so sometimes you do have to stand in line, or make the decision to return later. Service sucks especially when rude little girls with shorts showing parts that shouldn't be shown is exposed. It is not cute. Best Ice Cream stand ever! My wife and I used to drive about 30-40 minutes every other week or so for this ice cream! There really are two big reasons why it kicks so much butt. 1. The Ice Cream. The food really is the main reason you stop at any place. The price can be amazing and given to you with the worlds biggest smile..but if it tastes bad who cares. Mel-O-Creme honestly has the best sundaes ever because they are so loaded with high quality toppings. Most ice cream places leave you fishing for peanut butter cups or raspberry syrup but here I could almost see where some insane people would think it was too much! There are many ice cream places I have left and tossed out 20-30% of my ice cream because it was just soft serve...that never happens at MoC 2. The service. While bad food served with a smile is still bad food...good food with a brilliant smile is always appreciated. Everyone at MoC is super friendly, they do well with order substitutions...and they were aware of gluten free! That last one may not be a big deal to 90% of the people who read this review, but to a handful of us its will bring you to tears! I have been coming here for years and recently when I found out I was allergic to gluten I thought I would never enjoy eating here again. When my wife stopped and asked if they had an allergen list available though they not only had one but knew a few that were gluten free from working with a past gluten sensitive customer! I can not eat everything I love, but many great ice creams including my two favorites(The Muddy Buddy and the Raspberry Truffle)were still ok for a fat gluten free kid to chow down on. II naturally got them both! Anyways to sum up.
