There is no bubble tea in Atlanta that compares to honey bubble (especially if you like a good milk tea). The tapioca is always fresh, they have lots of non-dairy alternative milks, and delicious flavors. The chocolate mint is super great- and there isn't any bubble tea place that makes that flavor the perfect way honeybubble does. My drink is never watered down like so many other places. Sometimes the service is slow- but it's worth the wait. The parking lot is difficult - but you can bypass it with the extra parking in the back. This spot is a weekly stop for me. read more

OH MY GOODNESS. I cannot even explain my love for Honey Bubble. I can't even remember how I found out about this wonderous establishment, but I can remember studying and hanging out here 24/7 while living in Atlanta for 3 years. I have constantly searched for a bubble tea shop like this in other areas, and nothing compares. Honey Bubble uses the most authentic, fresh tasting ingredients. It doesn't taste processed and the tapioca pearls are the perfect consistency. They're actually chewy, instead of hard, like all the other places I had visited before. The array of flavors is amazing. I love to mix my flavors and come up with crazy combinations, and they always encourage me instead of thinking of it as an odd request (so thank you, HB). The atmosphere is so relaxing and you will want to stay here all day if you have a huge paper to write, book to read, etc. It's great to study with groups (big group study room), or to just hang out and catch up with a friend. Comfy couches, comfy chairs, perfectly sized tables. Loyalty cards are a must here (just ask for one). Love it all. I can't wait to move back to Atlanta just so I can visit this heavenly OH, HOW CAN I FORGET. A good option if you are in the area and don't want to drive far. Drinks are inconsistent though and staff can be rude. We were coming here frequently for Egg Cremes. Was good for awhile but recently made a variety of ways, most of which taste awful. Some of the staff can be rude - my wife tried to redeem a punch card which clearly says "8th drink free" and the girl behind the counter was arguing with her about how she has to buy 8 to get the 9th free. I really don't care - but you never, ever argue with a customer. The way they were talking to her - I really doubt they would talk to a native speaker like that - but you just never know for sure. Where do I begin? For starters, my gf and I walked in without anyone greeting us. While we were trying to decide what to get, a rude voice yells over the counter informing us to come down to the register. Then the same lady informs us that they are cash only at the moment with no explanation or apology. We ordered a regular honey osmanthus and a large taro milk tea. It was quite odd for me that she asked whether I wanted black or green tea, as I've never been asked that when ordering a "taro milk tea", but what do I know? The lady at the register gives me a dirty look and says I have to choose one. She clearly didn't want to be there or was having a terrible day. Anyways, I chose the green tea with bubbles. We should have known from the rude manner of the lady at the register(pretty sure she's the manager)this would be a terrible experience. Our drinks come out. Both drinks are lukewarm..... my drink is supposed to be ICED and her drink is supposed to be HOT tea! I try her tea and it tastes like dirty rag water. Her cup had something smeared on the side of it. Seriously? I go back to the counter to let them know my gf's tea is not hot at all and the guy at the counter tells me he will take it and heat it in the microwave......again. Wtf? This is a tea shop, right? He says they don't have hot water. The wonderful manager returns to give her unwanted opinion. She states that the water is hot. I tell her it's not, her employee confirms it's not. She becomes silent and tells me she will remake the tea. I get back to my seat I try my drink. It's disgusting. How do you mess up a taro milk bubble tea? Mind blown. We decided it's best to leave and walk out without getting the replacement tea with the dirty cup. I also left my drink. Worst. Experience. Ever! I have a problem...I am addicted to this place. I was visiting Atlanta and I passed by this place thinking it looked really chill and saw the giant bubble tea picture. I love bubble tea and this place really outdoes itself. There are SO many options to choose from and it's not too sugary, which I love. The tapioca pearls are an added treat to my favorite drink but you also can get aloe vera or coffee jellies. I can't talk this place up enough. The atmosphere is great and it's a great place to connect to wifi and enjoy your drink. I know boba teas are usually super sugary but I can't take all that. Honey Bubble is an amazing place with amazing tea and pastries. The aesthetic is very modern and makes it feel like it is the place to be. The staff has never really been friendly to me, but they're human and they're probably tired since I like to go later at night. So I don't really find that to be a problem, but it is the only reason I did not give 5/5 stars. Their tea is phenomenal, I have never had bad tasting tea from there. Their pastries are also really good; their macaroons are to die for!! So much flavor. Overall, it's a really good place to go to and I highly recommend it. read more

I frequent Honey Bubble about once a month and often times meet with my moms group here. The employees are so sweet and accommodating. I come in with son and between trying to order and trying to guard the tea pots that are at his eye level, they are so understanding and friendly. Whenever my meet up group comes here, we reserve their room in the back for free, which has a big table, sofa and a bunch of chairs. We usually prop a chair in the doorway so our children don't wander out into the main part of the shop and terrorize the other customers. The orders are also very fast. And the bubble teas are delicious. They also offer a variety of tasty treats such as macaroons, cupcakes, sorbets, so on and so on! SO much to choose from! All the flavors are very trial and error. I particularly like the Royal Tea and Coconut Palm with coconut milk. I mean, I've tried other flavors in the past that weren't for me. But, the Royal Tea is an all around crowd pleaser. I also like that Honey Bubble offers decaffeinated juices for "tikes". hehe My son enjoys their Berry flavor. But, dislikes the tapioca pearls, but you can ask for them not to be in the drink. Honey Bubble also has frequent user cards! And as for parking, there are some spots in the front, on the side street next to the Chinese restaurant next door AND free parking located in the dirt parking lot in back. Their Thai tea is delicious, and it's my go to flavor, also if you ask they will let you try a sip so you know what you're getting into on tea base options. My wife gets the royal milk tea and that's tasty as well. This is definitely one of my stops when I am around Ponce. I've never really had a hassle parking either and I've been a bunch of times now. If the front is filled up there is usually a spot right on the side street a few yards away. read more

I have to preface this review with the fact that I just moved here from California, the land of amazing bubble tea. Pros: Good selection of pastries and also macaroons are great (but it's not like they make them, they buy them). Interior space has lots of lounge seating and so it's a good place to chill with friends. Cons: We just didn't feel like the quality of the milk teas were up to par with those in California. The tea flavors just didn't come through right and most were also too sweet (and I have a sugar-tooth) to the point where you taste the sugar before any flavor of the tea. Will have to keep looking for a good bubble tea place out here. It's hard to come by really good ones & when I found that Honey Bubble had the highest reviews in the Atlanta area, I had high expectations. The variety of tea flavors was the first thing that caught my eye and made me want to go here. I usually get original milk tea or honey jasmine green tea when I get boba. I decided to go with their original milk tea drink & it was just okay - not too bad, not so great. Most of the drinks are pre-made and my drink tasted a bit more water-y than I liked it to be. I had what I could only describe as a religious experience. I walked in, expecting your run of the mill tea place, but what I found was a sanctuary of elegance and grace. I was swiftly greeted and asked what I wanted. I was unsure of what to get, as I do not normally drink tea, but I was given a sermon on how and what to order, they made me feel special, they made me feel alive. I placed my order, a simple order of royal milk tea with tapioca, and was given my order within seconds. When I saw the drink, I wanted to weep. I heard an angelic chorus rain down from the heavens as I gazed upon my royal milk tea with tapioca, the culmination of the fantastic service and atmosphere building to this moment drew giant, manly tears from my eyes. Ok, so I am from LA and we have some really good boba, so when my cousin and some of her friends came across this place, I knew we had to try it!! The set up is just like any other tea house, chairs, sofas, and really a relaxing experience. The only thing that was different is that they call boba, "bubble" there. A bunch of my friends and I were meeting here to hang out, and it was my first time so I had no idea what to expect. I got my boba and I really liked it, no complaints there. I want to give it 5 stars, but the music was very loud and the cashier and I had a very hard time understanding each other and she almost put my order down wrong because of that. You think they would turn the music down so people could order. When I was waiting to pick up my drink, I couldn't even hear the names clearly because of how loud the music was, and I grabbed the wrong drink on accident. Thankfully I realized it before I put the straw in, but If not I would have walked out with the wrong drink and it would've caused a lot of confusion with it being so busy. Overall it would have been a much more pleasant experience if I could effectively communicate with the staff instead of straining to hear and understand everyone. read more

Before I go into a nice little rant about the place, I'd like to mention that they let you sample their pre-made teas, which is a first for me! They have several teas that they make in batches, which sit in clear dispenser containers on the table behind the counter. If you're new to the concept, try it out before you buy a whole drink. Okay, here we go: I was really excited to hear about a new bubble tea shop opening up, outside of Buford Highway or Gwinnett area. When my girlfriends wanted to go someplace for bubble tea, I immediately jumped on the idea of suggesting this place. We arrived, but realized none of us had eaten dinner yet, so we walked next door to grab some grub at The Real Chow Baby. Fast forward an hour or two, and we're back! Every guest is greeted with a "ni hao" which means "hello" in Mandarin Chinese. I'm not sure I'm too keen on that concept; it's too gimmicky for me. And being Asian, it also brought me back to the days when people were trying to guess what ethnicity I am. Anyhow, we came at the end of the night, so most (if not all) of the pastries, muffins, etc were all gone. It's okay, because we came mostly for the bubble tea and macaroons (of which most were also gone). Drinks are just a tiny bit more expensive than what you normally find along BuHi, at $3 for the16oz and $4 for the 24oz, tax included. They only offer three add-ins for drinks: tapioca, coffee jelly, and aloe vera jelly. Hopefully they'll add more later (*hint hint: I love lychee jelly). Ask for a punch card, if they forget to offer one to you. Buy 7 drinks and the 8th one is free! The macaroons were pretty expensive at $1.90 a pop! They were on the smaller side, but they were good.. so, so good. My friends and I got the Thai tea, Honeydew milk tea, and their signature royal milk tea. Though they were all tasty in their own rights, in comparison to other bubble teas, we all felt like they were a little plain and tasted somewhat diluted. The drinks weren't as rich as we like. The tapioca, which they coat in honey, didn't taste sweet at all. The consistency was good (not spot on, but still good) but it didn't taste quite right, if that makes sense. Their ice is crushed instead of cubed. I prefer cubed ice because the crushed ice comes up through the straw along with your beverage. They offer a HUGE variety of items, aside from bubble tea and macarons. They also have bagels, cupcakes, cake slices, croissants, scones, gelato, coffee, and other specialty drinks. I suppose they are focusing on the quality of items they produce in-house, as they outsource a lot of their other goodies. For example: - Cupcakes: Southern Living - Macarons: Alon's - Gelato: Honeysuckle Gelato (I must try the green tea gelato!) They've got a bunch of interesting tidbits posted via their Facebook page: 1. They made the list for ScoutMob's 10 Best Restaurants Opening in 2013 2. They have paleo-approved beverages 3. They have a dual canister water filter system that all of their water and ice is filtered through 4. They are located directly across from the Clermont Lounge. My friends had a hoot and a half when I told them about what it was, and about Blondie. Save yourself any embarrassment and don't order anything with a little green dot next to the name. That means that they don't have any, though they should be getting everything in stock soon. They did just open not too long ago, ya know. The interior is sleek and a nice place to hang out with your friends. There's even a conference room in the back with a chalkboard wall and comfy couches. You can "rent" those rooms an hour at a time, for free. If you have a lowered car, take the entrance directly off of Ponce. Do not turn into the little street beside the store and enter the lot from there. There is parking that fits 50 behind the building, reserved just for Honey Bubble patrons. However, they could do some clean-up back there and it is DARK as eff back there! Kinda scary. :( All in all, I would recommend this place. I wouldn't come at night, though. Lighting outdoors is not the best! PS - I knew Tom E. would like my check-in! Haha! UPDATE: Saw that they would like to organize a spring cleanup for the back parking lot. Honey bubble, your tea is so delish, your location superb--bubble tea within walking distance of Clermont Lounge, a package store, a bar, and 2 tattoo shops uhhhh heck yes!!!--but ohhh you hurt my wallet. I'm not sure if it's just how it is in Atlanta or because you're pretty much the only bubble tea in the area, but let's just say this Arizona-girl is not used to paying $5 for a large tea. The slushes/frapp thingies, however, are tons better than Starbucks so I'd go here anytime if given the choice. I believe all the drinks there are the standard $4 for regular and $5 for large. The parking is what you'd expect, cramped and typical of Atlanta (I've only seen the front but I'm hearing there is more in the back). The decor is very modern and it seems like a nice place to hang out and chat. There are goofy attempts at incorporating the Honey Bubble name into memes. Those were definitely entertaining. This place probably has legit teas because I always an Asian kid doing his homework. Decent bubble tea. They have more unique offerings than some other shops such as lavender, pistachio, and lychee, and also distinguish between milk tea and clear tea. Mixing flavors will cost you 75 cents extra. It's pricier than its competitors though, with a medium at $4 and a large at $5 - I would need to try it again to determine if it's worth the extra dough. I've had the Thai tea and Matcha bubble teas at Honey Bubble and enjoyed them both. My hubs didn't care for his black currant macaron--he thought it was stale and should have been crispier. I really really really liked their bubble teas. The tea was perfectly sweetened so that it was neither tasteless or too sweet. It mixed supremely well with the boba that was lightly sweetened with honey. There is a real tea flavor to the tea, it tasted well brewed. I had their house signature milk tea and it was delicious. They also have a study room that has a huge table people can actually do work it. It clean and a lot of cute decorations. Their large boba is also inexpensive! I love bubble tea so when I heard about this new place from a friend, I wanted to try it out. My initial thoughts... Not so nice area... The interior was very nice. Very eclectic. It would be a really nice place to get coffee and meet and chat with friends. The staff was okay. Not nice but not rude. As for the bubble tea... I was not impressed. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I've had bubble tea all my life from places like Toronto, NY, Vancouver etc., but I thought the tea was kind of bland and watery. I got the honey jasmine tea with aloe and a macaroon (The macaroon was yummy like always, but they buy them from Alon's so I'm not going to review on that). I paid $4 for either a small or medium, but either way, that's more than what Quickly or Sweethut charges for a smaller portion. Also, the aloe in the tea was way too big. I prefer my aloe smaller. I feel like most places that sell bubble tea with aloe don't have such big pieces. But that's my own personal preference. Overall, Honey Bubble was okay. I wasn't thrilled. I might come back with friends or if it's convenient, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. I feel like I can get better tea at a lower price elsewhere. read more

I've been wanting to stop by Honey Bubble for quite some time, but it wasn't until recently I actually made it reality. As I rode up to park my bike in the store's parking lot, I noticed the large Honey Bubble billboard, which, I believe, was made to help all of those poor direction readers that want some refreshing bubble tea. The store has a wonderfully hip atmosphere, which is quite relaxing. I could easily see this place as a top notch spot to study, and it is! Much of the store is occupied by students, which made it quite crowded. Though I would highly recommend this spot to study, the popularity and crowded nature makes it difficult for a "quiet study time". Now, on to the actual reason for coming here: the BUBBLE TEA. After entering the premises, you will be bombarded by a large selection of ways to customize your splendid drink. I ordered a large Taro flavored bubble tea with no special toppings (Price was about ~$5). The bubble tea was not bad at all, but tasted a little different from other bubble tea stores I have been to. The taro milk tea tasted more like taro flavored milk, which was still delicious, but was unexpected. Another thing to note was that the boba (tapioca pearls) were a bit on the hard side. Overall, Honey Bubble is without a doubt the best bubble tea joint I have been to in downtown Atlanta. The only downside is that in comparison to larger and more popular bubble tea chains such as Quickly and Sweet Hut, this place is on the lower end of the spectrum. Conclusion: Honey Bubble WILL fulfill your bubble tea cravings, and WILL leave you refreshed for the rest of the day. My experience here was soso. I first pulled in from ponce and there was little to no parking (which I found out later more was in back) I made my way inside and wasn't sure where to order it was not very clear anyway. I asked an employee there and they directed me where to order. I seemed a bit rushed because I assume I was taking a bit longer than usual (it was my first time so I was a bit confused) either way the employee who helped me seemed a bit sarcastic in ways. And made me feel like I was unintelligent so make sure you learn about it before you go to order. Even if there's no one in line waiting to order. The place was a bit cluttered because it was busy before we came. Either way I will give them another shot, wasn't a horrible experience but not a pleasant one either. :| P.s it is a bit pricy for bubble tea and the flavor is tasty I recommend the honeydew milk tea with bolba if you like honeydew. If you are in the Poncey/Virginia Highlands area, Honey Bubble offers a quaint atmosphere where friends can gather for a relaxing cup of tea or some much needed studying. The interior houses tables, sofas, and a partially separated room in the back for some privacy. The bubble tea is fine. Their bubbles are soft and the texture is smooth. There are a variety of flavors, teas, and milk types to mix and choose. I would say that the milk bubble tea tasted more like milk tea with bubbles - as in the flavoring was very mellow and subdued by the milk. If you are used to Bubble tea from Quickly's, it might taste a bit different in the strength of the flavoring of the drink. Alongside the tea, they offer gelato and some baked goods from Alones. My friends had them and they seem to enjoy them as well. Parking is an issue here. They offer limited parking, which was VERY full and tight at night. My friends and I ended up parking a block or two away in an area with little street light... Those who parked on site had an employee help them back out of the parking space. While I prefer quickly's or the places in the hong kong shopping area, honey bubble does offer some decent alternatives. If you are dying for bubble tea passing by Ponce, try it and see if you like it. read more
