As a someone who needs at least a little bit of scrubbing from a pedicure, this is NOT the place to go. The service listed online for a basic pedicure is said to be 30 mins. They worked on me for 20 mins, when I mentioned it being short and said that the scrubbing was very little, I was told that was it for a basic pedicure and that it's not about the time taken. It was $43. plus $10 tip, for very little. I was told I would need to book a scrub pedicure for $60 to have more scrubbing. I actually have booked that treatment before, and there's not much more to it, I just didn't expect the basic to be really nothing. Just got a day spa pedicure here and it was perfect! Lisa was my technician, she did an incredible job from start to finish. Loved the lavender scrub and foot/leg massage. She did a great job on my toes as well. I enjoyed everything so much I opted to get a 10 minute back massage while my nails were drying. Lisa is an absolute magician when it comes to massage. When I saw that this salon got only three average stars, I had to chime in. I've been coming to this place ever since they opened a few years ago. I'm a guy, so I only need basic mani-pedis-- no polish needed. But still: it's an ultra-clean, high-ceilinged, well-appointed space. The staff is excellent across the board. Every single time I've been here, I've been treated with utmost kindness, and better yet, skilled excellence. Not the case in other more seedy places I've encountered. And the price is right. This place isn't worth the money if you're looking for "extensions" or as it's more commonly known, a full set of acrylic nails. Just had the best experience at this nail salon. I live right on the same street a few blocks down so the commute is extremely convenient. I scheduled for an eyebrow waxing, SNS manicure, and a basic pedicure. Lisa did a great job on all three. The pedicure was so relaxing and calm and she didn't go overboard on the eyebrow wax like many places do. One of of the rare places that my eyes don't tear up from the harsh and hot wax. At the last minute I decided to switch my SNS manicure to a gel manicure and they were super understanding. I even gave Lisa a reference design photo and she worked tediously to make it as accurate as possible. Overall, I think the price is very reasonable and the service was amazing. 10/10 for the salon and 10/10 for Lisa! Will definitely be returning to try out all the other nail techs. She seemed sweet and friendly. My nails are short and I liked my mani when I left. Cons My nail tech however, wasn't as friendly as what I am used to at other places, made no eye-contact and kept chatting under her breath to the nail tech next to her. I watched as other customers washed their hands and their nail techs waited with a warm towel to dry them. Mine put my warm towel on the cold sink, told me it was there and then walked away. At the end, I gave what I considered to be a VERY generous $10 cash tip especially since I felt like the customer service wasn't the best. I was charged $47 for a $40 gel mani. My fault for not asking what the extra $7 was for ( I got distracted with my phone as I was leaving). But what was that extra $7 for? I used to go to Honey very often, but like other reviewers, found the service to be very inconsistent. Sometimes my gel manicure would last for 3 weeks while other times I would start to see visible cracks and ridges within a week of visiting the salon. However I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I drove by for some odd reason but to my delight this nail salon is a HIT!!!! It is extremely clean and my nail technician was very knowledgeable and very cool!! I would have loved my feet to be scrubbed a little more to smooth out the roughness but overall I will take the cleanliness over the abrasive scrub down. This review is long overdue! And also long, sorry. I have very mixed feelings about Honey. I live an elevator ride down from their Myrtle Ave location and work 4 blocks away, so it is extremely convenient for me to come here every other week for my nail services. Unfortunately, my first visit was about a year and a half ago, and I stopped going after I noticed that their service was never consistent. I always get gel manicures (every 2 weeks) and a basic pedicure (once a month). Sometimes I would get a quick massage at the end and sometimes I wouldn't. Sometimes they would charge me for quick dry drops, sometimes they wouldn't. The inconsistencies forced me to look for nail salon alternatives. Sadly, after a few months trying out different spots, I found that no other places on Myrtle provide the same amount of safety when it comes to tools and cleanliness. I appreciate that Honey invests in IBI single use files and buffers and the space just feels much cleaner and more upscale than your average nail salon, and the prices reflect this. Once I returned to Honey about a year ago, I found more frustrating inconsistencies. These were easily avoided if I simply saw my favorite nail tech, Emma, so I always made sure to book ahead and plan my schedule around my appointments. Fast forward to post-COVID-reopening in July and things went downhill again. Due to scheduling conflicts, I had no choice but to try a slew of different technicians (Joy, Lisa, Mia). Unfortunately, they all provided the same service in very different ways. Some would not use the cuticle remover, some would not trim my cuticles well, some painted the gel on so thin that even with three coats it was completely see through, some would not use a hot towel after washing my hands, some didn't even ask me to wash my hands, period... during COVID! Unfortunately, any time any of these techs did my gel manicure, it would start chipping mere days after. I work during the week and am away on weekends, so this began to get very frustrating. I had to walk around with chipped and broken nails a few days after paying $45 + $10 tip and had to come in weekly. When Emma does my manicure, it still looks perfect when I come in after 2 weeks, no chips, no breaks, and I only come in because you can see the growth at the base of the nail. I am happy that I am now able to see Emma regularly again, but I do wish and suggest, as a previous Upscale Nail Salon Manager, that Honey invests some time into re-training all of their staff. Service should consistently be amazing, no matter what tech you see. We are all paying a premium for a luxury service. We should all leave relaxed, happy and confident that our gel manis won't chip (for at least 2 weeks). We treat ourselves to this! Until they re-train their current staff, I suggest you request Emma if you want your moneys worth. She is FANTASTIC. 5 stars for Emma, minus 1 star for inconsistent service. read more

There is always someone at the desk and is honest if they're busy so they won't make you sit around waiting for nothing. Usually you can walk in and be seen with it 20 minutes. I've given Honey Nail Salon numerous chances however, after a number of subpar experiences I feel compelled to write this review. Gel manicures generally last 2 weeks, if not longer. Honey's gel manicures rarely ever last one week without chipping or peeling. Their prices are steep, especially considering the quality of the manicures. It's also always bothered me that they don't allow you to participate in the loyalty program unless you pay in cash-- something they only reveal once you go to pay. I've had it with Honey. I had the milk & honey manicure and pedicure on Saturday before Mother's Day. It was a gift from hubby from Valentine's Day that I finally got around to using. I wasn't sure what was included in the package but hubby had told me it would take about 2 hours based on his discussion with the salon staff when he bought the package. My pedicure was first and started after the nail technician brought me hot tea. After trimming my nails and pushing back my cuticles, she did a sugar scrub, then a moisturizing scrub (wrapping feet and legs in plastic wrap), then a light massage with a combo of the sugar with the moisturizing scrub, then a fantastic leg and foot massage (using a timer), then a paraffin wax bag brought to the tub (which was a bit too hot at first) and then painting my nails. I requested an accent nail and picked a glitter overlay. I am not sure if she is new to the salon but did notice her asking the tech next to us a few questions about the process. It's a lot of steps so I can understand the questions. My manicure was next with all the same steps, including the paraffin but I dipped my hands, three times, in the solution at the rear of the salon. I also picked an accent nail for my polish, same as toes. It was a pleasant experience that took 2.5 hours (including drying time). The one thing that could have made it perfect was someone to help me with my shoes when I was dry. I walked over to the pedicure area to tip the technician $20 with my bare feet. Nobody moved to help me with my shoes that were a bit further back in the salon between the pedicure tubs. Even after I located my shoes, still nobody moved to assist me. It was a bit odd seeing as I'd just had $100 in services. I did not use the 7 day polish, as it didn't last on me when I tried it previously. The polish has lasted well (6 days so far) with only a slight touch up on one chipped nail that I fixed with a similar color in my personal collection. read more

I live directly above it, and have seen a ton of people in there since it opened, not to mention it's extremely clean and well decorated. I went in this past Saturday to get a regular gel mani, and although I left loving it, the gel nails started peeling off 3 days after I got them done. I've never even experienced that with a regular mani (no gel), and typically my gels last a full week to two weeks without issue.. even then, I have to get them taken off with strong acetone. I used to be a regular patron because of the clean environment and hygienic practices but have been less inclined to go in recent months because of the poor customer service demonstrated by one of the managers there (taller, Asian lady with the blonde highlights) during my last two visits. during one visit, I went in 5 days after my manicure starting chipping and asked for a polish change. Instead of the customer service one would normally expect at any establishment (positive, patient, and accommodating), she begrudgingly took me on as a customer and proceeded to chide me, telling me it's expected for normal manicures to quickly chip because of all the things we do with our hands, and recommended that I get gels instead because they last longer. I should have just declined further services then and there and walked out, but stayed because I had an event the next day and didn't have time to go to another salon. during another visit, I had barely walked in to ask if they had any available slots, but without even pausing from what she was doing to look up to address me and kindly let me know they were at capacity, she just abruptly (and rudely) said, "No more, not possible. Sorry." ...okay. Time for me to find another go-to place. Amazing service, each technician is attentive and does an amazing job. However, do not use the "perfect match" gel polish. I got a manicure done on Saturday- it chipped like a regular polish by Sunday. I went back in on Monday and they gladly assisted and repainted the chipped nails with no hassle. However, a few hours later it chipped again. I just don't recommend to use that brand. I have never had an issue with shellac or OPI gel in the past and I get them done regularly. I made an appointment for 11:30 on a Sunday. I am very busy and hardly have time to make for doing my nails therefore I make sure to book an appointment ahead of time. They made me wait 45 minutes until they let people who just walked in, or had later appointments go ahead of me. When I asked about it the woman said I don't care. You wait or go. So rude, disrespectful and honestly humiliating. Doing your nails should be a time for yourself, a quite time which you enjoy 30 minutes with yourself in this busy life.
