The first time I went to Honey, I was desperate. I needed to get my nails done asap for a plane trip in less than 6 hours and it was still during the higher highs of Covid in early November. By chance I walked in and was able to be seen by someone. I liked their policy of cleanliness and it shows in the upkeep of the salon. While I missed having water jets and whirlpools for pedicures, I prioritized not being infected. And the service is generally good. The prices are relatively high but you can get it slightly cheaper if you use cash (they have an atm on site) plus personally I think it is trade off for having clean service in the area but we have our standards As someone who doesn't usually go all out with nails , I could depend on getting a good gel mani pedi with great service here. Designs are very iffy as they don't list what things they can do on their site and they don't list prices for them or even as a general option. So if you come in (esp If you walk in randomly) you are at the mercy of what your available person knows even if you provide pictures/examples. But even if you have a manicurist you love, the online appointment menu doesn't list name so you might have to call to pick your specific one or choose tech a, b, c and etc (pictured) I liked honey so much that I went there for my first ever gel extensions (UV, French). I loved it so much, it lasted a long time and I got so many compliments on it. In general for the nails I get, I personally never had a problem with them being chipped too soon. But the reason I gave current grading is when I went to remove the gel extensions after 5 weeks (I would have filled them but I had to do a project that required me to use my hands). I set an appointment for it and I came on time for it. My manicurist did remove the top layer with a drill however to remove the rest she used a fake nail to PRY the fake nail from my actual nail. It actually hurt at a few points and had to say "ouch" later. Since it was my first removal, I learned much later that this was not the appropriate method of removal (should have soaked off instead) and it left damage on my nail and the service overall was not great and left a bad taste in my mouth. And I actually made an appointment for it. I don't know if the other people on staff or In the chain use this method but I wouldn't risk it. Overall I do think one can go there for a good mani pedi and Overall a clean environment but for more complicated designs and functions you should go elsewhere. read more

I know this place is expensive, but it is a truly beautiful salon which is hard to find. And yes they will literally charge you for every single tiny thing that they do, and I'm not in love with the products that they use, but it's the only fat Accessible pedicure bench that I can find and everyone is so friendly. I cried the last time I was there and they really supported me through it. I do wish they would get new colors. And I don't just mean because I'm sick of the old colors, but because the last three times I've gotten pedicures my polish looked wrinkly and seemed off. read more

The salon is spotless and everyone was lovely. My pedicure was beautifully done as well. My powder nails are another story. Firstly, I was charged for clear acrylic, gel manicure and design all separately ($140 total including pedi) which I've never seen before. Middle nail (short on purpose) chipped 3 days later - a week later this is what they look like. I've had this service done at different salons for years, not sure what the problem is here. Had such a great experience at my appointment today with Franny. I called on a whim for an appointment and was asked if I could possibly make it in 20 minutes to allots time for what I requested. Suffice it to say, I did not make it lol. I was a whole 45 minutes late- but thankfully there was a cancellation and I was able to receive my full appointment. Franny was very pleasant and the best part it she was able to read my energy (maybe) and see I just wanted peace and not make small talk. I was literally dozing in and out of my soak and pedi cure (I work 70+ hours a week) and just needed some R&R. It was great and the space was so tranquil. It was exactly what I needed. I noticed some guests highlighted the fact that this nail salon is pricer than most. That's expected for cleanliness, professionalism, skill, quality products and attention to hygiene. I love this salon! I waited until I had gone a few times before writing a review just because I've had very inconsistent experiences at other salons on Cortelyou. I've had multiple gel manicures and a pedicure now with different techs, and I can honestly say it's always a great experience. Each tech has been incredibly detailed and listened to my needs. I'm a bit of a pain when it comes to shaping and usually feel really uncomfortable asking for more detailed shaping. But the techs here have all been so understanding, or don't even need to be asked to fix certain corners or edges! The salon is also super clean and aesthetically pleasing. Maria is excellent and very detail oriented. I got a gel French manicure and a regular pedicure. Maria took her time and the results were excellent. The salon itself is lovely and very clean. This was my first nail salon experience since the COVID-19 shutdown and I felt very comfortable with the precautions taken at Honey. The price is a bit more than other nail salons in the area but I am willing to splurge from time to time to have someone work as meticulously as Maria did. I came to this place at around 10 am since Element doesn't open until 11am. I walked in at 10:15am, it's very spacious and clean in there. I was seated right away. The nail tech (Fiona) I had wasn't friendly, didn't do a good job filing my toe nails and even when applying the polish she seemed to be in a rush. I had to remind her to evenly file my toenails. I also got a gel manicure and I was surprised to see they don't offer to soak my hands to soften my cuticles. Also, I had glitter polish from before which we all know take a little bit more time to take off. She didn't try much with nail polish remover but decided to file my entire nail to take the glitter polish off. My nails are uneven and I can still see residue from my previous nail color. It seemed she was also in a rush to finish my manicure, which was off because there was no one else there or waiting. She kept my finger nails under the UV for about 30 seconds each time, I wouldn't be surprised if my polish chipped in less than 2 weeks. I will not be coming back here. read more

I was never a discerning nail salon client. In fact, I have been a nail biter most of my life. (I know, it's a terrible habit.) So my nails have always been short and jagged. I always blamed this for why I never got a great manicure. I assumed it must be too hard to do a good manicure when there's not much to deal with. But, having now left that bad habit behind me, (mostly,) I've found that most of the salons I've gone to just have not done an acceptable job. I work a block away from a strip that has at least 6 different nail salons. I've tried every single one. I always came home unhappy. Finally, I opted to try Honey and I will never go back to some of these other sub par places. Every station is impeccably clean. They are so committed to cleanliness, that they have you physically get up and wash your hands. The pedicure basins are not whirlpools that recycle the water around, because evidently that's really just a breeding ground for infections. Every time I leave the salon, I am quite content with how my nails look. And quite frankly, when I've had a good manicure, I am less likely to gnaw on my nails. read more

I really want to give this place a 5 star rating because the salon is absolutely gorgeous and the staff were polite. I definitely felt the environment fostered the pampering experience I was looking for. However, the nail technician was so rough with the file that my cuticles started to bleed and now I'm in pain anytime warm water hits them. The picture show the cuts on my cuticles and I pray they don't get infected. I told the technician she was being too rough and when she applied the polish, it burned. It might have been a language barrier, but she just said "the file" and kept going. I showed her my cuts before I left and she kind of laughed it off. I don't think she was being malicious, I just assume she didn't have the vocabulary to apologize. I don't know. I've decided to go with that to not feel like an idiot for being tortured for a manicure. My nails are absolutely beautiful minus the scratched up cuticles. I splurged and got the dip. Again, I'd give them a higher rating if I didn't have to perform first aid for the next few days and I pray I don't end up with an infection. read more

Check it out first yourself, they're so good they have a franchise. This place is clean, well designed, comfortable, they treat you like they've known you forever and it was my first time there. I walked in and ask for a pedicure, didn't have to wait a second! They already got to business on my toes. The ladies here love conversation. They offer drinks, are very careful with you and even help you out of your seat! My stylist had no problem doing little things for me (like giving me my phone and bag after I put it too far within my reach), honestly a dream come true! A beautiful salon. Very clean and crisp, plain simple decor. Everyone was very nice. It is a bit pricier than your average salon and I paid an extra $2 for the weekly polish, and it's been a bit over 24hrs and my nails are already chipping. Most likely will not be back. Biggest suggestion is bring cash, they only accept cash tips. There is an atm in store for .99 cents. Its been forever since I had my last manicure/pedicure so it felt nice being able to book. This place has friendly staff and the ambiance is so nice especially the pedicure room. I sadly forgot the lady who did my nails, but she was nice and I agreed for her to give me a massage in the end. That last part is optional. I love the service that I received and I like that the staff take their time. I got a mauve color for my nails and I forgot the brand that I chose but I paid extra and it was so worth it. My manicure lasted more than a week before chipping which is pretty good considering that I work in healthcare. I will definitely be back! read more

"I'm going to get my feet done...." My version of the sesame street song. So it's that time again and luckily this spot was pre-selected for me by someone very special ;). We arrive and are greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. As we identify what services we want the lady also ask our beverages of choice... really? Niiiice. It was too late for a drink (insert eyes here lol) so we opted for lemon/ginger tea with a lil honey and were pleased. While waiting for the tub to be at optimal temperatures, which they were we admired the place and the very calming mood we felt... the energy here is just right. Finally we're in the chairs and our teas arrive, a lil hot but the aroma filled the little section we were in and man did it smell good. So I was fortunate enough to have Maria provide my pedicure and aside from a few seconds of light tickles I am convinced that she is the go-to person at this spot. She was patient, gentle, and thorough throughout my experience. My pedi-partner didn't enjoy her experience as much but I'll let her tell her own story. Lol Finally it was time to leave and someone didn't wanna put his shoes back on yet because his feet felt heavenly and socks would dampen the feeling. Sigh, he did it anyway and was sure to tip Maria well... that someone was me but that's none of your business 0_o. This is my new spot and though I don't know the frequency in which ones goes, I might just wing it and pop up for a refresher as the need arises. This was my first and last visit to this establishment because I was underwhelmed. I originally noticed the spot about a week ago while out taking a jog in the neighborhood and promised myself that I would check it out. Fast forward to last Sunday after a tough few weeks I figured that I deserved to pamper myself and decided on a pedicure. I must admit that when I walked in with my friend we were very impressed with the deco and ambience and figured we were in for a treat! We were asked to pick nail polish and after selecting a color were told that it would be an additional $2 dollars..... okay. We went to sit down and were shown the menu offerings we went with the "basic"'pedicure which included a massage. We were offered beverages - we opted for tea with honey. My friend asked for extra honey but she couldn't taste it. The pedicure was not magical. There was nothing at all remarkable about it. There was also NO massage so I am not sure what I paid for considering I had to pay extra for the polish and my friend was charged an extra $5 to remove her gel nail polish. When we were paying there was also a strong focus on the cost and transaction that I didn't feel like I was in an upscale nail salon as the prices suggest that this is meant to be. So five stars for deco and -5 Stars for all the add on costs and not delivering a massage as stated. read more

As a male, I love this place. All staff is very friendly and they practice excellent safety standards during COVID-19. All guests are required to wash their hands upon arrival so don't be surprised if asked to. The atmosphere is soothing from start to finish. Well lit interior with hints is white and marble everywhere. The shop quiet with some music playing to add to the ambience. It doesn't smell like nail polish overtaking the air like some other shops. The pedicure stations are dangerously COZY! You may fall asleep as you get deeper into menu offerings of scrubs and massages that they offer. read more

This is my new favorite nail salon in the neighborhood! They've only been open a week, and my birthday is tomorrow, so I thought I should try it out by treating myself to a manicure. The space is lovely, open and airy, and I had the nicest person doing my manicure, Karina. I opted for a slightly more expensive polish, an Essie Gel Couture color, and I swear I got the MOST PERFECT POLISH JOB ever. I usually do my own manicures, both to save money and also because I never get anyone to paint them as well as I do. Well, no more! She really did do such a perfect job. Enjoyed a manicure, pedicure, and massage during opening week when they were offering 20% off. The pedicure room is gorgeous and a place to enjoy alone or with friends... love the bench seating (gross massage pedicure chairs should all be retired to a salon graveyard). It had a dry bar feel. I selected an Essie polish that required an up charge. It was worth it. It lasted on my manicure for at least 2 weeks before embarrassing chipping and my toes still look great 3 weeks later. My massage was great-- high pressure that hurt at the time but 2 days later, the knots that had been driving me crazy were gone. I joined the cash only points program because I live so close. Glad to have a pretty nail salon in the neighborhood. Only criticism is price. Why are Brooklyn manicures so much more expensive than in the ues? 5/5 for the ambiance: Clean, new, and modern nail salon. Honey has a large bench seat with cushions and pillows rather than traditional spa pedicure chairs. It makes it feel more upscale and trendy. The decor and lighting is really cute and makes it feel more like a boutique. They serve Cosmos while you get your nails done which was fun! 5/5 for the service: Every one was very friendly. My nail technician Elizabeth was very nice. She did a great job with my pedicure and manicure. She was detailed and not rushed. 3/5 the prices: Loved the whole experience, but it was overpriced. $15 for a basic manicure and $30 for a basic pedicure. Most nail salons in Ditmas Park area have much lower prices where you can get a manicure for $8. I could see myself coming here regularly, but it would be on more special occasions when I am treating myself since the prices are higher than other salons. Also, the Essie gel & CND polish are both $2 extra for each service ($2 for a manicure and $2 for a pedicure). This seems to be a common theme in nail salons recently, but the actual bottle of polish sells in stores for $11 so $2 each time it is used seems a bit ridiculous. I chose a polish brand that I am unfamiliar with so we will see how many days it lasts. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and loved the modern nail salon vibe. read more

Simply wonderful! I have been there twice once for a manicure and once for a pedicure. The two technicians Grace and Anne were professional, friendly, attentive and did a great job. Today, when I went back for the second time the staff remembered me. Everyone is friendly, the place is spotless and relaxing. I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness and this place is spotless. I did not go to other salons in the area because they did not seem as clean. Each time I got a massage and both times they got all the knots out and I felt so relaxed when I left. I recommend Anne and Grace who are excellent however, they are the only two technicians I have had so far. From reviews and vibes when you walk in it appears all the technicians are wonderful. I've had a couple of good experiences here. My last one was for an extended mani/pedi (can't remember what it's called, it was one of their spa options that included a mask, scrub and massage). I had a very special occasion the next day. My manicurist was lovely. But I had two major issues after leaving: 1) I developed beau's lines soon after this manicure. I never had them before and I rarely get manicures. My dermatologist said it was from trauma to my cuticles and that manicures are often the cause. The manicurist had used some kind of little buffing tool for my cuticles (they weren't wildly grown out or anything, but she said she loves using the tool). 2) she used some kind of chemical on my toes to remove calluses / dried skin. It burned and I told her as soon as I could get ahold of her (she had left the room). Now, nearly 2 months later, some of my toes look bleached white. My feet look so much worse than they did when I got this pedicure (& I was already self-conscious). I will be going to a doctor to see if anything can be done. All in all, I regret coming and definitely will not be returning. read more
