Review for customer service: I walked in for my appointment right on time, 3 pm. After being asked what I was here for, it was brought to my attention that I booked my appointment "wrong". Ok. As a first time customer, I was confused but explained that it didn't allow me to book the combination I wanted. Told I probably missed it. I then ask if I could be shown so I can attempt to book properly in the future. Then I'm told well I can book the mani/pedi combo and they can change it to a spa pedi. How would I know that?! But fine. I pick my color and sit down. Get called to a pedicure chair only to have the water scalding hot. She doesn't fix it, just tells me that it will cool down. Spoiler alert : It didn't. So I just didn't get to soak my feet. So I sit awkwardly in the chair for another 15 min before my service even starts despite being on time for my appointment. This spoiled my self care experience. I get that maybe there was a better way to book but no need to jump all over the me the second I walk in. I felt called out as everyone looked up to stare at me. There are plenty of other nail salons where you will be treated nicely even if you did something "wrong" Review for nails: My nails look ok but after being treated like that, I only did a basic manicure so I could get out of there quickly. The spa pedicure was meh at best. A few minutes of massage and a little scrub was what qualified as spa. They didn't even wrap my feet up fully in a hurry. It was clear that there were favorite regulars in this salon which is great. People supporting your business should be treated nicely. However, I wasn't even given a chance to become one ‍ read more

I've been wanting to get a pedicure at this salon since I saw it first open. It's in such a great location with plenty of street parking (pay to park), and also has such great reviews. I think it's safe to say the reviews were all accurate and I've found my new favorite nail salon. Q helped me pick out the perfect shade of pink, then she gave me the best pedi I've had in a while. I really like that you can schedule an appt online, the scheduling site is pretty detailed as well. You can pick the specific services you want when scheduling the appt. Their massage chairs for pedicures are also fantastic. Everyone there's so nice and also excellent at their jobs. I shall be back! read more

Great Nails Techs, Unprofessional Management Both of the techs that I have worked with have been wonderful! I included a set of the nails I got done last year for reference -- they were so cool! That said, the last time I booked an appointment here, it got a little out of hand. I booked the same service I did the last time. I knew the inspiration pictures were more detailed than last time, so I told the tech I would be happy to bump up to a higher tier and/or do something simpler if needed. When I showed my inspiration to the nail tech, she (very reasonably) set expectation that the level of detail was not something she could do at the time, and suggested that I either get a different style of nail art or reschedule for a different date with another artist if I wanted that exact design. I told her that I was totally fine doing a simpler design, I was just looking to get something in those colors / the general inspiration for a concert I was attending this weekend. I asked her what would be possible to do instead. We pulled up the picture of the previous set I'd gotten done there; she said that some of those designs would be within her ability and we could do them with the colors for the inspo pic, which I thought was a great idea! At that point, though, the owner Hanh (who was not at the salon) called her and asked to speak with me. She seemed very upset and very loudly (in the full salon room) told me that I either needed to choose a different design or leave. The nail tech had sent her the inspiration photos to see if there was another person working there who could do it -- while this was a very kind thought, I want to be clear that I did not ask her to do this. I assured the owner that I was working with the tech to choose a different design and apologized for any stress I may have caused. She just said "you can give the phone back now" and refused to speak any further. While I appreciate that Hanh was trying to advocate for an employee, I felt that her response was both unnecessary and unprofessional. I was, up to the point of the phone call, very willing to work with the stylist to come up with a simpler design. However, after the phone call I apologized to the tech and said I thought I needed to go home instead. I was not comfortable giving my money to someone who chose to yell at me over speakerphone in a crowded room -- just because (at least from my perspective) the inspiration photos I pulled up were too detailed for her, even though I had already offered to go with a simpler design. I'm leaving Honey Nails 3 stars because my experience of the salon has been mixed. The nail techs are very talented and kind and they do a wonderful job. If it were just for them, I would happily go back. If I could give a review just for them, it would be five stars. However, I cannot personally give a five star review to, or continue to spend my money at, a business run by someone who approached me with disrespect without listening to my willingness to change direction and move forward with a simpler design. EDIT after owner response: I sincerely apologize for any stress I may have caused.I repeatedly stated at the salon that I was happy to move forward with a different design and did not want to cause an issue. I absolutely took no for an answer and when Hanh called the nail tech was bringing out polish for another design. I was not at all frustrated by their inability to replicate the design, I just left because of the rude phone call. I also would have been happy to share the inspiration photos ahead of time had there been an option to do so on the booking form. The nail tech said to me that she was fine with the situation because she knew I was willing to get my nails done anyway, and apologized to me for the phone call before I left. I deeply appreciate the staff but I stand by my review. I feel that the response from the owner misrepresents both my character and the situation, but there is nothing I can do here to change that so I am choosing to move on. Absolutely loved coming to Honey Nail Salon for the first time yesterday. I saw Amy for both services. First I got a pedicure and I can honestly say it was the best pedicure of my life - so relaxing and my toes look great. For my nails I got GelX for the first time after being a long time no-chip girl and I love them - even now I'm just clickity clacking away at my keyboard writing this review. Honey Nail Salon is the best nail salon I've ever been to. I've been getting my nails done for over 15 years and it's by far the best nail experience I've ever had. It's clean and beautifully styled and I always feel warmly welcomed and comfortable there. And I haven't even gotten into the services...Hahn is the best nail artist on the planet! My nails always look amazing and I get compliments on my nails where ever I go. They have the best selection of colors (be it regular polish, no-chip or dip) and stay up on the latest nail trends and have all of the needed items to make those trends come true (cat-eye/velvet, charms & studs, 3-D, etc.). Love Honey Nail Salon! The salon is clean and nicely decorated. I have been seeing Hanh, the owner, for years - she helped me grow out my nails to the longest they have ever been naturally using dip manicures or builder gel. She's an amazing artist as well - her designs are precise and gorgeous. I've had pedicures with Q, Henry, Mimi, and Mel and they're all wonderful as well. Prices are fair and they have a good variety of colors, chrome, cat eye, etc. My nails always last at least 3 weeks. read more

Amy did a terrific job and was very friendly and professional. The place had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Honey Nail Salon is hands down the best quality manicure and pedicure on the north side of Chicago. How do I know this? Babe, I've been to pretty much every salon in Lincoln Park and Bucktown over the last 20 years. My search is finally over! This is the ONLY place I go back to every three weeks like clockwork to get my nails done. I'm a professional tarot reader so my hands are important - that's what people are looking at all the time. And let me tell you I always, always get the best compliments on how gorgeous my nails look! Stop popping into random salons and getting lackluster treatment. The nail art I've seen popping out of here is always amazing as well. I always get a chrome dip - Henry is my usual nail tech and he's amazing.
