Y'all, it's been REALLY hard for me to find a solid pedicure spot in Chicago. Was running errands on a Friday afternoon I requested off and this was in the area. I desperately needed a pedicure and noticed they have a special Monday - Wednesday (just wanted to note). The reviews seemed good enough and I was pleasantly surprised! The salon was packed and one person was waiting before me. Always a great sign imo. I walked in and waited less than 15 minutes. Didnt catch the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she was awesome! I chose the regular producer for $39 and she was very thorough. She scrubbed the callous and took her time. I didn't feel rushed at all and I also didn't feel like I was sitting too long. They also give a quick shoulder massage while you dry your nails which is a nice touch. Out the door, everything cost $46 which isn't bad for the city. I have to note how lovely she painted my nails too. She didn't overpaint - I've noticed some places have been doing three coats of color - yikes. They had about six pedicure chairs and maybe eight for manicures? I didn't get a manicure but one thing I noticed and love is that they keep the services separate. It makes it feel so much nicer. There's also a few spots to park in a private lot - super convenient. Been coming here for several months and the last 3x I've gotten my nails done I've had to come back to get them fixed because they chipped. This last time I got dip powder and had to come back the very next day because one nail chipped. Exactly a week later, 6 nails chipped. I couldn't get in to get them fixed till a few days after that, as I am super busy and truly do not have the time to spend every week in the salon!! I came in for the nail fix today and the lady at the front, I'm going to assume who was the manager told me they were going to charge me for each chipped nail. Please never come here for a removal. I've been going to this nail salon for months for a removal since I get my nails done at home by a technician. I've had several problems with removals here many times but my last visit was almost unbearable. I got dip powder on my real nails and a pedicure it was $92 before tip and they are passive aggressive as you check out about tipping which is just not a good look. The woman doing my nails made no conversation with me and never told me her name through my whole pedicure which was first. She was a bit too rough with the cuticles and there was no massage for legs or feet. Literally I go to a salon to feel pampered. Especially for this price I should have felt welcomed and relaxed, not like a burden. Toward the end of the manicure (dip powder) she made some small conversation with me. But again there was absolutely nothing special or stand out about this experience. I actually can walk to this salon but will never come back. I would rather drive elsewhere to spend my money and with gas at the price it is that's saying alot. The nails and pedicure looked nice but no better than my old go to place just good. The dip Didn't last any shorter or longer than any other salon. The only reason the salon is getting two instead of one stars is because it was clean and I didn't have to wait as a walk in. Manicures have other nice extras like single-use collagen gloves and individual Vitamin E capsule for extra moisture on your cuticles. There are so colors to choose from, both regular and no-chip. Their new COVID measures include a hand sanitizer spritz and temperature check upon entry; masks are required for customers and staff. I found this place on Yelp and the reviews convinced me to check it out. I'm so happy I did; I think I might've found my new spot! It's really nice and chic inside. It's also really clean (which is important to me). As soon as you walk in, they offer you a drink (including a glass of wine) which I'd give 5 stars for that alone, amiright? I got the dipping powder mani and regular pedi. Vivi did my mani/pedi and she did such a great job! After my mani, she gave me a short 30 second shoulder massage which was the perfect ending to a relaxing mani/pedi. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I found the prices to be a little on the higher end. I paid $84 for my mani/pedi plus tip. I have been going here for about a year and half. I have had a couple of problems with them: at least three times they have made me wait for over 15 minutes from my scheduled appointment time (with no explanation or apology, and in fact once with one of the employees getting upset with me for asking about my appointment). And to be clear - you HAVE to make an appointment, because they will not seat you without one. I have also requested "special" manicures and pedicures (things like a "naked manicure," or that CND "healthy" no-chip, only to have my nail tech not know how to perform the service, and get upset when I tell them they are performing the service incorrectly (I always say this in what I believe to be a pleasant tone, because hey, I make mistakes at work too sometimes!). I have repeatedly gone back because 1) they have a GREAT location that is right by my house and the division blue line stop, and 2) when they are able to perform the correct service at the appointed time, they do great work. However, I just experienced my last straw. I called to book an appointment at noon today. They could only fit me in at 7:15. I called to say I would be 5, maybe 10 minutes late as a precaution. The person that answered the phone said if that was the case, I could only get either a "no-chip manicure" or a pedicure. First, I booked a regular manicure. Not a no-chip. Second, 10 minutes does not make the difference between a full service manicure or pedicure. So to me, it is clear that they were planning on rushing through my service, because 5 minutes late should not mean I can no longer get a mani or pedi. There was no apology, no offer to re-schedule me. It was just like "ok, bye!" Good to know customer loyalty means nothing to you (they have me in their system and recognize my number when I call). I would recommend you go to any of the other many nail salons around the division blue line stop that will respect and value your time more.
