Went for a pedicure today during my lunch and the tech that did my nail was rough. She dropped my foot on the rest multiple times. She also over drilled my nail when removing my no-chip and it is paper thin and red. I do not understand why they remove the no-chip by drilling instead of soaking-off like you are supposed to. She tried to say my nail was like that before, and although it WAS a little on the thinner side, she drilled to the point that it is sore and red and I felt it bothering me in the water. I left with no polish to do it myself at home because she was so rough. She also filed my nails horribly and I had to refile my nails at home. Jagged edges and crooked. I definitely won't be back especially for a $65 pedicure this bad. read more

I found this salon on yelp and love the reviews as well as the reviews on Google. I had to give this place a try. And I love the customer service, transparent prices and they even have ATM machines with no fee so you can get cash. There is a service charge if you use a card; most places are doing that. I get my nails done by Jimmy and he is very very good if you let him know what you want you, guys can Collab and make great nail art togethe. I also get no-chip pedicures and I just love the options I have for each service. Very clean and relaxing. It's conveniently located in River North. Right by the merchandise smart. The other nail tech are equally talented but definitely give Jimmy a try. Keep in mind that you're downtown so I think they're moderately priced. I like a lot of details so my nails will cost more. But you can always call/email your questions about pricing or you can talk with them before you get your service. Give a try and they have other locations; each have their own vibe. I was looking for a nail technician who could do cat eye nails, and this was my first time here. I called to make a reservation (you can also book online). I got nail extensions and a pedicure, and since I was running late, they kindly did both at the same time. They have a big variety of nail options -- even for cat eye nails, there were about 30+ choices! The place is spacious, clean, and has restrooms. My nail technician was amazing and did a great job. I was originally seeing Lauren, who was fantastic, but after she left, I started going to Dora and she did not disappoint. Her nail designs are creative, clean, and exactly what I ask for every time. One of the things I really appreciate is that they take appointments and ask you to send your design ideas ahead of time, which helps everything run smoothly. The service is always great, and the staff is consistently polite and professional. Parking--well, it is River North, so plan ahead or grab a ride, but the quality of service makes it absolutely worth it. I came in on a Tuesday and i saw online that if you come in before 2pm monday-thursday, you get $10 off builder gel, so you bet i was there! i really liked how they had tv's playing in the salon. they had on reality tv shows which i love! I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at NAILàCARTE. I've now had two separate issues with redeeming my Gel-X Groupon, and instead of receiving clarity or resolution, I've experienced miscommunication, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. * On May 17, I visited the salon intending to use my 2 Gel-X extension Groupon, but I was told it couldn't be applied. I ended up purchasing a separate 1 Gel-X Groupon just to receive service. * On May 29, I returned and was finally able to use my original 2 Gel-X Groupon, and I was told the second set would be saved to my account. That never happened. * Today, when I tried to redeem the remaining service, I was told they couldn't find it. When I asked for help, Ricky (manager) told me there was nothing they could do. I had an appointment, showed a design in advance, and they said they couldn't do it. Instead of offering an alternative, they simply said they wouldn't be doing my nails. To make things worse, they removed everything from my nails and sent me out with no polish, no base coat, nothing--just bare, damaged nails (photo attached). I asked for at least a polish or a simple finish, and was denied again. After spending money on multiple Groupons and being treated dismissively twice, I'm left with no service and nails that look worse than when I walked in.
