What a fun store!…read more We were in need of a few Christmas cards and saw the Hallmark sign. But holy moly, they offer so much more than cards, stationery, and paper products: clothing, accessories (for winter: hats, scarves...), jewelry, water bottles, Goodr sunglasses, home decor items (candles, blankets...), chocolates, kids' toys, and a variety of gift items. What a fun and neatly organized store to explore. We found the cards we needed in the back of the store, and then stumbled upon the perfect gift for our bird-loving Aunt: bird seed ornaments in the shape of birds (so random but so spot on - she loved them!). We bought some chocolates too. I resisted the urge to buy the "It's a beaut, Clark" sweatshirt...but wish I bought it! We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again next Christmas! Cheers!

The manager, Amy, should be fired. She was more focused on her phone than on customers or her…read morestaff. She came across as passive-aggressive toward employees who were clearly working hard while she stood around doing nothing. On top of that, her behavior was blatantly racist. I am not a person of color, but the difference in how she treated customers was obvious. She repeatedly ignored non-white customers and followed them around the store as if she were waiting to accuse them of stealing. This is not the first time concerns like this have been raised about her, which begs the question: why is she still employed? Many people that I've talked to said they will not step foot in this store again as long as she remains the manager, and I am one of them. Her behavior made ME deeply uncomfortable and I wasn't even a 'target' for her. It's especially disappointing because the rest of the employees are wonderful, and I would much rather continue shopping there and supporting them than having to drive to another location. Fire. While…read moreon a trip to New York I popped in looking for some New York-based gift ideas for my sister. The woman behind the counter was very helpful in trying to assist me with finding something, and she even suggested some other stationary stores in the area too. I could tell she really cared about my shopping experience, and she was very knowledgeable. Well, despite her recommendations, I returned to Yours Truly days later and purchased some things from there. It just had more of what I was looking for, and I was more than happy to give the woman the business. Overall, it's a great stationary store to check out whilst in Brooklyn!

Their heaviest area of product seems to be greeting cards and wrapping paper along with pens, paper, post-its and other desk-type stationery. Staff is kind and product quality seems fine, although you will pay for that quality--that quirky card or small swatch of bespoke wrapping paper will be in the $7-10 range. Felt like the kind of shop I would normally adore, but I keep stopping in and leaving with nothing. It is incredibly niche for people interested in special or unique or bespoke products--and I do love them for that, it feels like the Brooklyn way, and I love that we have these bespoke shops for some people. This one is just a smidge too fancy and impractical and pricey for me.
