Typical Chinese food spot. Not much of a sit down place more of a grab your food & go. Didn't have too much greeting to our party but afterwards they were a little bit more friendly. Food is a little pricey but hey it's the economy but don't think it was worth the cost . Food was decent but could have been better. Didn't like chunks of chicken in the rice . It comes down to taste and price. I love shrimp, veggies, and spice, so I got the kung pao shrimp. I got a quart of it which was $15 with tax, and I counted 18 shrimp and plenty of veggies. The sauce was thick enough to coat things but not too thick, and there was plenty of it. I've had kung pao dishes from other restaurants, and the sauce isn't as savory or spicy. The kung pao sauce at Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant in Roxboro is actually spicy but not too spicy nor too salty or sweet. The service was fast, and the restaurant is cute. There's only one table, so this is mostly a take-out restaurant. I'd avoid paying with credit, because there's a 3% credit surcharge. 10/10 would recommend the kung pao shrimp and this restaurant in general. read more

Hometown favorite. I've been eating here for over 20 years and it is consistently good food. There is a small table on the inside but I've never seen anyone sit at it to eat, It's mostly order to go! There isn't much of an ambiance to walk up and order. read more

Being original from Long Island, I'm use to grabbing Chinese take out on the weekend now and then. You tend to learn what is considered good or bad take out by the quality of the chicken, beef, and seafood served. My family and I have gone to the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant several times now. I can honestly say that every time our food was excellent! If we ordered something with chicken, the chicken was not dry or stringy, but cooked just right. If we ordered something with beef, the beef was not tough, or dry, but cooked just right. If we ordered something with seafood, all good. It's strip mall Chinese food. And in a town with a lack of food diversity, it's not bad if you want to get your Asian on, and you just need lunch takeout. The General Tso's does the trick, and with a side of a straight up cabbage egg roll, it's the standard American Chinese food lunch. read more

This establishment is ran by a very rude group. They come off as not understanding English but it's just rudeness. I went in to place my order because the last few meals from them just got worse and worse. I ordered my meal Hunan Chicken with shrimp added and no broccoli with extra celery and carrots. I also ordered a side of gravy which they call sauce. I was charged $23.33 which I thought was a little much but decided to wait for my order to see if they had it right. They first let me look at my food and it had broccoli and when I said was to be left off and he said it is on the other one. I ordered one dish so he gave me $8.00 back so that left me paying $15.33 for a combination or lunch size meal with a side of sauce. Sauce must be expensive. I called him when I got home to say that I must have been overcharged. He said he had done everything to try and please me and that I should go elsewhere to eat. This is a great place to eat especially when you're just getting home and forgot about dinner. The food is priced perfectly and is yummy!
