I love szechuan village! They have a very wide selection of dishes, and each dish delivers on flavor! I have not been underwhelmed by the taste of any of the dishes I've ordered. The service is very attentive, warm and cordial. The ambiance is neat and tidy! I would recommend the green beans, dry pot beef, beef and onions, and boiled fish (tastes better than it sounds). Now I don't have to drive to Durham for good Chinese food!

Food was solid here. The pork dumplings were really good, but my fried rice was fairly bland and underwhelming. I'm hoping to come back soon and try something else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the bright side, the decor is pretty entertaining and unique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Hidden gem in Chapel Hill for Szechuan cuisine I stopped by this restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The staff was kind and attentive, even though it was a busy night. I was given a complimentary side of fried peanuts, which were delicious. I tried the egg drop soup, which was also very good. For my main course, I ordered the chongqing chicken, which blew me away. The flavors were bold and delicious. I loved every bite. The meal also came with a side of white rice. Overall, the food was amazing. I can't wait to go back and try the weekly lunch specials.

Saw an article on wechat about the newly opened restaurant in Chapel Hill - it's like an hour drive but we are glad we made it. Appetizer - tripe and beef - pretty good. I think the spicy seasoning are in place. Could use a bit of mellowing agent to make it smoother taste. But flavor us pretty authentic. Appetizer - fried dumpling - my 9 year old son ate it all and wanted seconds. Assuming it is pretty good. Ma po tofu - i"d gave 5 star. The texture of tofu was perfectly tender and flavored with mellow spices but with good punch to it. Green beans - 5 star as well. Flavored very and best part is cooked so perfectly that's it's crunchy with sweetness. Cumin lamb - very good as well. Wish more lamb in it. Lol. They also have milk tea and other drinks - I had passion fruit green tea - Love it - not overly sweet and definitely balance out the spices in the dishes. The drinks at 30% off now. Agree with previous post - price is definitely higher than comparable places but the portion is decent as well. Will come back again even with the long drive.

Authentic Szechuan flavors! Dry fried string beans, beef & noodles, chicken dry pot...delicious! We enjoyed our lunch thoroughly!

Look closely, can you see chicken in this bite?

Very good Szechuan style food. The diced chicken with chilis is incredible: spicy, salty, and complex.

Really good food super authentic Szechuan taste. Their cumin lamb is a must get! Their green beans are also extremely tasty as well.

It can get busy and reduce conversations but it is great change and food is always hot since it's right out of fire. Restaurant is good and well managed and our server came by several times to make sure our needs were getting met as your order things for your table on the iPad. Drinks are additional cost. There is a nice sauce bar though you have to make your own sauce. Might be easier if they just made the top four displayed on the board. There is ice cream to buy for a $1 if your tongue is feeling the burn after all that hot food. So we loved it overall but here's the room for improvement - bathroom had soap but it was watered down and floor on the restaurant felt wet or bit slippery. Perhaps all the people taking soup around so had to be a bit careful. The app and menu is a bit complicated I wish it was updated to make it simpler. The app doesn't show which items have been ordered and delivered vs new ones you're adding so it can get confusing. There is reward system but that sign up is on a different app and payment is on another device. So if they took care of those I would give them 5 stars.

It was mostly rice mixed with sad iceberg lettuce ( mixed greens ) and the toppings were skimpy. For $18 this was disappointing. It was supposed to have three proteins. I added radish, crunchy onion and edamame. It was sad. In addition to the toppings I ordered there was a bunch of ginger and a marble-sized glob of wasabi hiding in the mix. Glad I avoided being surprised by that. I took the photo after I'd eaten so you can see how much rice was still in the bowl. The waiter was super sweet. He'd do better at another job. I'll stick to Zen Fish. There everything is fresh and vibrant and the choices are more exciting. Plus, their mixed greens are actually 'mixed greens'.

First of all, the AC was not working on the night we visited so things did not get off to a great start. It was warm in the dining area. The lighting was dark (maybe to not add to the heat). We enjoyed our Thai ice teas and seaweed salad appetizer but found our entrees (angel hair special and marine couple) just okay -- nothing special. The scallops in the marine couple were pretty tasteless. The owner came by and chatted with us a little bit, which is always nice. We've had tastier food at other local Asian restaurants so we'll probably pass on coming back soon. We wish them well.
