They wouldn't let me get a refund for a drivers test that I couldn't take due to complications with the DOL. The lady at the front desk was very rude and kept talking down on me as I tried resolving the issue as best as I can. They rescheduled me once and then said that now I have to pay another fee in order to get rescheduled into a new spot for something I had zero control over. read more

I really wanted to like Roadsafe, but my experience was frustrating from start to finish. Scheduling was a mess. I had lessons canceled last minute multiple times without clear communication. When I tried to reschedule, no one answered the phone or replied to my emails for days. The instructor I was paired with seemed impatient and barely explained anything. Every lesson felt rushed and stressful. I left feeling more anxious about driving than when I started. What really rubbed me the wrong way was that they asked students to write positive Google reviews. There seems to be a great difference in the ratings between adults who relocate from another state/country and need a license and those who sign up their children for the drivers ed/driver's training program. Our experience was signing up our teenage daughter to take the driver's ed/driver's training. It was a horrible, miserable, painful experience. Here are some of the lowlights: -- The driver's education program was online and pretty boring. The first night was canceled with no notice. From what I can hear of the instructor, he spoke in a monotone with a heavy accent. There was no effort to make the material interesting. -- During the time my daughter was taking lessons there you could not sign up for lessons online, so you had to either go in person or call on the phone. Most of the time you would call, no one would be there. I think we left about three messages for every time someone called us back. --- The scheduling of the driving lessons in person was even worse. Our daughter was initially signed up for two lessons but on the second lesson, we were told that the lessons were too close together and they sent us home. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT SET THE LESSONS. So even their own receptionist doesn't know the policies. --- The driving instructors are a mixed bag. One of the male instructors (who we think was the owner), would bark directions at my daughter and was hard to understand. He also spent a good deal of his lessons on his phone. Not just texting, but literally making a phone call. One time during a phone call he said something to his friend like, "No, stop!" so my daughter, who thought he was talking to her, stopped the car immediately. Then he yelled at her. The other instructors were slightly better but the general theme is they all spend time during the lessons on their phones rather than providing instruction. -- We had two different occasions during the lessons where the instructor simply didn't show up and my daughter waited there for the entire time without anyone telling her. -- My personal highlight was, when waiting for my daughter to complete an observation ride, the instructor led the driver through their (very busy) parking lot, where there was a car blocking most of the way. I saw the car stop, thinking they were going to back up. Instead, my daughter reported the instructor (the guy who talked on his phone all the time) yelled at the poor kid to keep going and he did, trying to squeeze by the car and scraping the side. Nice instructing. -- Their office is a real dump in a very busy strip mall. To get there you walk up a stairway that smells like an overflowing Porta-Potty. -- The customer service is just the worst. There were never any apologies for the missed lessons, the failure to call back, the scheduling issues, etc. When my daughter "graduated" she pretty much had no clue how to drive. We wound up hiring another driving instructor. If you have a teenager, I implore you to go somewhere else. You will save yourself a lot of money and a lot of stress. read more

Very rude test driver instructor for the gets there 20 minutes la and with attitude and starts rushing me and I was about to check the wheels and tires and yells at me to not check them to just get in the car and as we were about to leave I asked him if he wants me to go to right or left because i didn't under him the first time and hits the brakes really hard and told me if couldn't hear right he made me really nervous and mad that I accidentally hit a curb and he didn't finish my test I would say just do your knowledge test here and go to your driver test in your dmv read more

I am 36 and never had my license and took my permit test at this location. When I was ready to get my license after some practice with my impatient husband, I decided to get a 9-hour package to make sure I was fully capable. I primarily drove with Umal. He is extremely friendly and great at providing tips and tricks for spotting where you need to align yourself for seamless parking, turns, lane changes, etc. Whenever I was succeeding, he would exclaim "YES!" in this unique way that always made me smile. I also was able to meet him at 8 am for each lesson as that was the only time that worked with my schedule and he had no problem accommodating me so you should note that they do have some flexibility in their scheduling which sealed the deal for me. I would do it all over again, great experience coming from an anxious adult :) read more

Great driving school. I found Roadsafe because I'd already passed the knowledge test and wanted driving lessons and the driving test. I already knew how to drive in other countries but wanted to learn how to drive well in the US since there are significant differences (direction of the streets and traffic rules). I initially started with another driving school in the area but their scheduling system was ineffective and each class ended up being one month apart. At Roadsafe however, the scheduling system was SO MUCH BETTER and more efficient. I paid online then called them and they scheduled all my classes AND the driving test to be within the span of about a week. The instructor was great and even after I passed the test he gave me more tips about driving and car ownership etc. The only con is the location of the road office itself - the plaza looks like it's seen way better days and there are often vagrants around. The first time I showed up the class I started up the stairs and encountered someone sleeping there. Thankfully there are multiple businesses in the plaza and I never had any safety incidents there. Overall this was a much better use of my money. I wish I'd gone here first! read more

PLEASE READ!!! DO NOT COME HERE. They are extremely unprofessional. If you are a teen and looking to get your driving school done, go somewhere else. The testing instructors are rude, no manners, unprofessional and act like its their own home! They are incredibly impatient and don't even pay attention, major red flags. One instructor made me get gas with him, wasting my driving time. Another instructor calling someone using a very loud tone and became super distracting as we were in a busy street. AND another one farting constantly. They are always showing up late and don't even give a damn. For the first time learning how to parallel park, they choose the tightest spots and expect you to learn by yourself AND THEN HAVE THE AUDACITY TO GET ANGRY??? Parents if you are reading this, please send your teen to a different place because your teen will only feel like a hassle to them. I literally paid $800 for my time not to be respected and never having scheduling time available. How can you offer classes to teens if you aren't even going to be flexible. Students shouldn't skip class just to fit into your schedule that they paid for! read more

I am really happy with RoadSafe Driving Academy, I called them on June 29 to register for 9 adult classes, passed a written test in their office on July 2, completed from July 5 to July 23, and passed the road driving test on July 24, the whole process took less than 1 month! What I like the most is how organized and efficient they are in coordinating the classes. Out of my 9 driving classes, 8 of them were with instructor Ramal who is a really kind lady, she is always on time and I feel very comfortable taking class with her. She is also very focused during the class, never used her cell phone, which I think is very important. The 2 ladies who work at the reception were also very helpful, they coordinate the schedule very efficiently. I am really glad that I am able to learn driving here and pass the tests so quickly! read more

Horrible place, I was doing a driving practice and all the boss wanted to do was talk about how Asian people cannot drive, he called Asian people submissive. I am an Asian man so this was extremely disrespectful toward my ethnicity and my people. I was quiet because I thought that was the only problem. There was another drive and all the driver did was put his hand on the steering wheel pretty much the entire time. My mom shouldn't have paid $60 for this guy to pretty much drive me in a circle from SeaTac back to Othello. While he was driving he was also on his phone talking to some random person about like 80% of the time. It was really hard trying to learn something when all you're doing is being controlled physically, the whole time by the person that is supposed to teach you to drive while on their phone. This doesn't account for the driving instructors being late all the time and me waiting almost half an hour in this hot office. Like they've never heard of an Air conditioner? We had to sit in that class for two hours at a time and try to concentrate when it was so hot in there. it's was probably like 85 degrees in that office on a good day. Like do they not have the money to buy an air conditioner from Costco, it's like a couple of hundred dollars, If you can afford 3 cars for your company, you can certainly spend a little for the comfort of yourself and the students in there might pass the tests more. I failed my finals and wanted to retake it about 4 months later. I called them up, they tell me I can retake the written test on Saturdays from 2 to 6, then before I left the house, I called them again and now they told me I can't take the test anymore, they told me I can take it on Saturdays from 10 to 1. It just pissed me off because I had to go to work. and they wasted my time. Despite the boss being disrespectful to my ethnicity. Being on his phone all the time. Late to the drives. The hot-ass office I was trying to concentrate in. Being misinformed. The teacher there was nice, she knows the place isn't a good place but still needs that job. read more

I had taken my license 10 years ago before in Canada but unfortunately it's not recognized in WA. So I had to take my test again. This time around I wanted to get a refresher on my driving skills since I haven't driven in years. I appreciated the quality of the instruction. I had two instructors across 4 lessons and they were very patient and taught me really great tips for driving I will take with me. What was really awesome was how fast the process was and the availability to schedule lessons. I did my first lesson on a Sunday and passed my road test on a Thursday the same week. I was able to do it earlier in place of my fourth lesson as the instructors thought I could pass it. Note that scheduling is very manual here so you have to call to book or schedule in person. It would be more efficient having an online scheduler, something I would suggest for them to improve on, but it wasn't a big deal. This driving school for teens leaves the parents in question of everything--no clear communication about what to do or how the process works. The driving lessons you buy for an hour are only really 50 minutes with minutes sometimes shaved off so that is frustrating when the budget is tight. One of the instructors grabbed the wheel abruptly while the kid was driving and was pinching his nose telling him his driving was really bad. I do that stressed out teaching myself, but I paid someone so my kid could learn under calmer guidance, assuming that would be the case. This program could improve by having the first lesson include the parent understanding the process along with the 15-year-old teen who could likely lose or forget pertinent information. This way it could've been a smoother experience. Also, rather than saying you are paying for 9 hours of driving the site should say nine 50-minute lessons because that would be accurate. What is 9 x 10 minutes? It's a whole hour and a half that you're not really getting of driving time. read more

I have tried another local driving school before, and it could not even compare to my experience with Roadsafe! Through the Academy I was really able to build my confidence and comfort with driving, which was something I was lacking even after taking lessons elsewhere. Umal is a wonderful instructor who is helpful, friendly, and encouraging. He helped me focus on the areas important for the driving test, and gave me plenty of tips and time in the car for situations beyond the test itself. Additionally, they're a school with really flexible hours which made it easy for me to consistently practice with them. I highly recommend trying out Roadsafe- I got the Advanced Adult Package and really feel like I got my full money's worth and beyond. read more

Pros: Cheaper than other places, located next to link, instructor is willing to set up freeway and night lessons so you will get decent on-road driving experience. Cons: Instructor is ALWAYS late. I was promised 60 mins of classes. I can understand the on-road part to be closer to 50 mins with the instructor giving instructions beforehand, but instead he'd arrive 10 mins late everyday, hop in the car and we'd start. Very little instructions as he'd be busy on his phone almost all the time. You will have to ask questions and you will get half-assed answers. I had to watch a lot of youtube videos at home to learn things better. Plaza itself isn't very safe and a bunch of homeless people roam around. If you are a female, I'd avoid going alone at night. read more

I was just asking him for advice and he was annoyed for some reason. He was so mean and rude to me. Honestly, I paid $70 for just one skills test. When we finished he just left and was annoyed... This is the best driving school! They have very good and low priced packages for every driving expertise level and their services are really of highest quality. Safety is their number 1 priority. The instructors are excellent and always supportive. The techniques I learnt here are the best - very easy and intuitive to master. My wife took her knowledge test here (and passed, yeah for her). We chose this place because their rates were the lowest in the area, and in case she failed the first attempt, they allow taking another on the same day. They also answered our questions on the phone without trying to get us to sign up, which went towards them getting our business. They are located on the 2nd floor of a strip mall, and unfortunately, don't have a sign that's visible from a distance. The office is small, with about 6 chairs, so be prepared to stand if you visit at busy times. Also, there are no restrooms on the 2nd floor; the bakery downstairs has a public restroom. The woman at the reception was super nice (probably the same person I spoke on the phone with), and after we filled out the paperwork, quickly ushered my wife in for the test. My wife later said that the tests are manual, so you're not taking it on a computer, and after she answered all the 40 questions, an instructor rated her answers. Not that it matters, but just FYI. The woman explained to me the various driving packages they offer, and it was to good know that we could start with any package, and upgrade to the next one simply by paying the difference. However, being nice also has it's pitfalls. Couple of dudes walked in, and while waiting, started talking to each other so loud that they could've been a mile apart. Then one of them took a phone call, and by the same token, he didn't really need the phone in between for the other party to hear him. Knowing that people were taking their tests inside, I considered asking him to shut the f* up, but it wasn't really my place to do so. I'd have liked for the receptionist to speak up, but she didn't. There goes 1-star. We plan to purchase a driving package from them; I'll update this review if and when that happens. read more

It is a terrible place, I will never ever bring my daughter here again or anyone else, I can never get a hold of them they are lazy and unprofessional, they seem to always want to eat and never work, I call and they say not right now and they'll call back later, and they never call or answer something is wrong here and it needs to get fixed asap! My son took driving lessons here and He took driving test with warm up here 3 times They still fail my son, they change different instructors every time my son test here and every instrustor teach different way and they said they don't guarantee you learn driving lessons with them you will pass the test and they said they don't know how many times you will pass the test. I spent a lot of time to find the right school to pass the tests to get the driver's license and totally happy to find Roadsafe Driving Academy. You can pass a knowledge​ test on Mon and Sat (check with the academy), and then pass the skill test. It is allowed to pass another knowledge test the same day. I used the WA DOL drivers license handbook and https://driving-tests.org/washington/ to prepare for the knowledge test, so it was quite easy to pass it. For the skill test, I recommend taking a 40 mins warm-ups if you haven't studied at driving academy in WA. It's enough time to get used to a new car, and your instructor will guide you through all of the tricky maneuvers to get you prepared for the test. So I got a lot of valuable information and skills from it, and pass the test on the first try. After you are done you can even issue the ID in DOL the same day! What's also some advantage: 1. Location. Just minutes from Otello D-link station. 2. Vehicles. You pass the skills test either on your or on academy's vehicle. 3. Price. The best price for the services​ in Seattle. 4. Modesty. The instructors want you to drive safe, but not your money. 5. Area. You will drive mostly in the residential​ area which brings less stress. Still, your route will contain some couple-lane roads, but traffic is not crazy there. read more

I took my brother to Roadsafe Academy after his class at Hong Kong Driving Academy was cancelled. They told us to just show up for class and when he did no one was there and according the my brother the instructor looked grumpy. Roadsafe Academy patiently walked us through the process of his enrollment and how to get him a permit so he can start driving. The instructors were super nice and most importantly my brother said he had a lot of fun in his classes. When I stopped by with my brother for his written test, not only did they all remember him from months ago (which was a sign to me that they had taken the time to know him), they also allowed us to test at the last possible minute we could have gotten there and let him go until closing. They're also in a pretty convenient place right by light rail and have a parking lot. They also have well maintained Toyota Priuses to drive too. I had the worst experience ever. Seems like they're always in a rush for something - what's not fair since we paid for their work - They lost my documents twice and also the skills test was bad. I wasn't able to understand what the instructor was saying - talking too fast is one of the problems-and every time that I asked to say that again he was acting like an impatient person. At one point I wasn't able to understand at all so he started to be rude and say things like - DO YOU THINK THAT'S ALRIGHT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm no way recommend this school. read more

I honestly don't understand all of the glowing positive reviews on this place...am I missing something? Parking in this complex is absolutely atrocious. People parking behind other people...folks driving in the wrong direction through the lot...just horrendous. But onto the school itself. Their door says they are open at 9. I was there to take the knowledge test at 9:15. I got to the school at 9:15am and stood outside until almost 10 when the receptionist got there and finally unlocked the building...and then the instructor didn't show up until almost 10:30. I took the knowledge test and then passed on my first try, so I wanted to take the skills test but because they only have two people working there, I had to come back at 1pm for the test. Fine. I get back at 1...but because of the awful parking lot I had to go park down the street. Okay. I arrive right on time, but I ended up sitting there for almost an hour after that until the the guy finished watching everyone else finish the test...and also chatting with people who were in the office. When the time came to finally take the test he made me go retrieve my car, to come closer to their office (im assuming be didn't want to walk the one block over)...so I had to fight my way into this chaotic and overcrowded parking lot like the hunger games...only to go back down the street I was just parking on. Overall they were just completely unprofessional and disorganized...and I would recommend going somewhere else that is less stressful. read more

He honestly told me i would need only 1 more class after my first class. Also the academy is right outside Othello libk rail station which makes it super accessible from dowbtown Seattle/ u district. I took my knowledge test here, passed, and they lost all my paperwork. Not knowing that, I ended up waiting like 2 hours at the downtown licensing office just to be told that my score was not in their database. I went back to Roadsafe and although they were nice and polite, they didn't have any records of me even taking the test here, so I got a refund but also wasted more time retaking the test elsewhere and then waiting again in downtown for my permit. We initially choose Roadsafe for our teens because it was a convenient location- near the light rail. But my boys really liked the teachers and learned a lot. They'd call me out on my driving after being with the instructors. And after I repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to teach parallel parking to one of my kids- he went out with the instructor one time and then was a master parallel parker. ("You just gotta do the V mom!"). So the teaching is really effective. The staff is sometimes hard to reach, but once you know the times when they'll actually be in the office, it all works out ok. They're super accommodating and we're now sending our third teen here. read more

We had a nice experience. My 16 year old daughter took the driving course. We live in the neighborhood so it was convenient for her to get to after school on bus or lightrail. The parking lot is a little crazy at times but it is a busy retail area. Didn't really bother me much since I would only be picking her up. I like how they offer many different days and times for drives etc... One thing though, the front desk lady wasn't very organized. read more
