I was very specific about the details--monogram placement, font, and even requested that my name be done in all lowercase. Unfortunately, every item was done incorrectly. The monogram on the scarf was placed upside down (so when worn, it read incorrectly), and both the sweatshirt and pajamas were embroidered in the wrong font and not in lowercase as requested. When I brought this to their attention, I was told the original items could not be corrected and would need to be replaced and re-embroidered. To their credit, they agreed to repurchase the items. However, when I returned to pick them up, none of the items had been embroidered at all--and the pajamas provided were not even the correct pair. At that point, I requested a refund for the embroidery services I never received. I was told the employee present was unable to process a refund. I had to insist on getting something in writing stating that I would be refunded, but I have little confidence this will actually happen. I have not received a phone call, email, or any other communication to try to rectify the issue or send a refund. I've since filed a dispute with my bank. Between the repeated errors, lack of attention to detail, and inability to resolve the issue properly, this was an incredibly frustrating experience--especially given that these items were meant for a special occasion. I would not recommend this business based on my experience. The level of inaccuracy and lack of follow-through here is simply unacceptable.

The women here are kind, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

We tried talking to them during the process, but they were rude telling her to tell me to go in because a modesty panel was not doable. The seamstress that did my wedding dress made one beautifully and even added a zipper. Other places make them all the time. They are a low-skill alteration fix. The dress was fixed as best as possible by my new seamstress who is near me. Thank God I didn't bring them (Joshuas) my wedding gown! As you can see in the pictures, the dress fit crooked and the modesty panel? If you could call it that. Anyone could've done a better job. Overpriced and horrible work. Save your money!

I had such a great experience at the bridal boutique, that when they recommended Almeidas Bridal Alterations, I figured it had to be just as great.....Boy, was I wrong. My first appointment here was...OK. I was thrown off by the fact that there was a 3 year old child running around eating cookies and chicken nuggets in the shop and touching everything. My sister also had a fitting for her gown that day, which only needed the straps to be taken up a little. I was charged $775 for everything done that day that needed to be paid in full....which I was never told about before hand. I paid it and expected great work. Before leaving that day I made a second fitting appointment for a month later. I thought it was understood that the next appointment would be made for my sister and I since we both had fittings that day. They only made the appointment for me so when my sister and I showed up for our second fitting appointments a month later, her dress was never done. The seamstress had to scramble to find her dress and did the alterations while we sat there and waited uncomfortably. She used white thread on her blue dress and left strings hanging everywhere. The clear non-slip strap that is sewn in dress to keep the straps up, was all ripped and destroyed. There was also a large visible pull in the bottom of her dress that we were told "just steam it, that will come out.." Then it was time for my second fitting. It didn't fit. I'm not sure what she did but the bust of my dress seemed to have zero of the alterations done. She claims " oh you've lost weight, that's a good thing!" However, I did not lose weight....she then re-pinned the dress and then charged me another $140. Fine. I left upset but trusting she's a professional and it will be fine. Another month goes by and I go back for my third fitting, this time with my mom. This fitting was FIVE days before my wedding. The dress is the same, nothing seemed to be done to it and she tried again to tell me " what happened?! You lost weight! That's a good thing!" This time I didn't fall for her tactics. I told her I haven't lost weight, my clothes all fit the same and I fell for that excuse the first time but I'm not falling for it again second time. She brushed it off and re-pinned the dress again and told me to come back on Thursday...THREE DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING! I go back on Thursday and she was very rude to me. Like she was angry she had to do the work I paid for the first time again without paying a third time. The bust of my dress fit better this time but not great, but at this point I was just done. My dress did not fit on my wedding day. I tripped on it all night, the bust was up to my neck and no where near my breasts. And my sister told me after my wedding that while she was zipping me up before my ceremony, she found a hole in my dress that I spend $1500 on and about $900 more on alterations. I spent $900 for this woman to ruin my beautiful gown. I will never go back here and I will advise everyone I talk to not to go here.

Ying has been tailoring my cloths one piece at a time and doing a wonderful job! She's shortened jacket sleeves, hemmed pants, taken items in, made pockets larger and I've been happy with every piece! I can't even tell they've been altered, the stitchings are perfect and very professional. After talking to my coworkers about tailoring costs, it's safe to say her prices are fair. I will continue bringing my wardrobe to Ying, she has been a pleasure to work with.

I recently brought in a dress asking the neckline to be adjusted and she told me I'd be better off finding another dress - which I loved! Rather than do costly alterations she gave me her honest opinion. Reasonable prices and prompt timeframes here-usually two weeks or less for somewhat involved adjustments on dresses.
