In 2019 I thought about dealing with the insurance company myself but quickly learned I was being jerked around. I spent 6 months trying to get hospital bills paid for and during that time I couldn't get a doctor to see me on a lien. My health insurance had lapsed so I was stuck. Nick went to law school with a friend of mine who recommended him. Within the first two weeks of hiring Nick, the hospital collections stop calling me, I had gotten my first updated MRI, and got a doctor to start treating me on a lien basis which meant I didn't have to pay anything. For the 2019 claim, the insurance company kept trying to play a game about how I didn't seek treatment until I got an attorney, but Nick made quick work of that and got my case back on track. We ended up having to file a lawsuit because of how much time the insurance company wasted in getting me care. For my accident in 2023, I got T-bone getting off the freeway. First thing I did as soon as I was discharged a couple days later I called Nick. "Surprise - surprise" there was no six month. Wait in trying to see a doctor or getting updated MRIs, and the hospital bill didn't go into collections this time. I appreciate that throughout the process for the 2019 and 2023 injuries, Nick was realistic, compassionate, and firm. He didn't promise me a retirement, but he did promise that I would get medical care and he would fight. After having to deal with the nonsense in 2019, it was nice to know that somebody was actually there to deal with the headaches and I didn't have to. One of my biggest concerns was the lack of direct communication. Despite requesting to speak with the attorney handling my case, I never had the opportunity to do so. Instead, I was assigned a case manager who, in my experience, did not seem fully informed about the details or progress of my case. Overall, I feel that my expectations were not properly managed, and I wish there had been more transparency about the risks involved. I would encourage others to make sure they have direct access to their attorney and a clear understanding of potential outcomes before proceeding. I need to correct several points in your response because that was not my experience. At no point did I have a direct conversation with you where any of this was clearly explained. In fact, despite multiple requests to speak with the attorney handling my case, I was never given that opportunity. All communication was handled through a case manager, who, from my understanding, had very limited experience at the time and was not able to adequately answer my questions or explain the situation in detail. To make matters worse, I was not even properly notified that my case had been dropped. For something this serious, that level of communication is unacceptable.
