I saw Dr. Haun for breast reconstruction following breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy--an extremely vulnerable and high-stakes time in my life. While Dr. Haun was kind in demeanor, he did not listen to or respect my clearly stated wishes regarding size. I repeatedly requested a small B cup or even an A cup. Instead, my "expanders" were enlarged multiple times with reassurance that this was temporary and necessary to achieve my desired result. A couple of weeks before my final surgery, when I began questioning the outcome, Dr. Haun left the room without answering my concerns. At that point, I was exhausted, desperate to finish cancer treatment, return to work, and move on with my life, so I went forward. I ultimately ended up a full C cup--far from what I requested. The reconstruction later failed when the implants slipped, requiring complete revision surgery with another provider. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Dr. Haun for breast reconstruction surgery. read more

I do not recommend Dr. Han. He performed carpal tunnel surgery as well as a joint repair for me in July 2024. The carpal tunnel surgery was successful however I will have to redo the joint repair as that part was completely unsuccessful. Of concern is the fact that he falsified records in my two post operative visits - appointments that he told me to make - by billling additional codes on those visits so that both the insurance company and I were billed for services that had already been paid within the surgical fee. I obtained copies of my medical records to verify that he had made false claims for those visits, and wrote his office a detailed letter with documentation explaining why I would not be paying that bill. It is five months later, and he is still billing me for that amount. My bill isn't much, but the amount that the insurance company paid him was significantly more. I would not recommend Dr Han, both because of his surgical outcomes and dishonestly in his billing practices. read more

I am permanently botched! He is very rude, inappropriate, a liar, rushes surgery and when you try to ask questions refuses to answer. He threatened cops because i asked why did he lie in my medical records. He shoved the left implant all the way up to collar bone and caused the right one to collapse and fold. I look hideous! I was referred to Dr. Han for some outpatient surgery. He's a nice guy, but he's busy, so don't expect a long, detailed consult. My surgery wasn't a big deal (though in a tricky spot), so maybe that's why I was in and out in five minutes, but it was still kind of scary to entrust someone you've known for far less than an hour to slice into your body. He did my first surgery and then came back and told me that he needed to go back in and make a wider incision, so I had to go back in for a second surgery. Then, a month after the fact, the doctor who referred me to him in the first place told me that she got the lab results and that there was no need for the second surgery at all. Four stars because necessary or not, he did a great job and you'd barely be able to tell the work he did. His office is clean, he's calm and friendly. Minus one star because of his office staff, (excluding Heather) who are nice to each other, but not very friendly with the rest of us...and obviously, for the unneeded surgery that set me back a good $1000. read more

I generally only write reviews when something or someone is really poor. But I had to write that I had a great experience with Dr. Han and his office. In November I had hand surgery to correct a genetic problem. My initial visit was very informative as Dr Han explained everything about my condition and what it would take to correct it surgically. I felt so good about his manner and informative nature that I went ahead with the operation and it was a success. This isnt to say that another dr. couldnt have done it as well (but my original Dr. sent me to Dr. Han because he said that he is one of the best in Fresno for delicate surgeries) but he did do it very well. Dr. Han is a Plastic Surgeon and I believe specializes in these kinds of things. As I said, his manner and attitude helped me make up my mind to see him. A really nice man. read more

Review #3. Some qualifers: EVERYONE, profession(s), or lack thereof, notwithstanding, is allowed mistakes, misunderstandings, or just plain old bad days. The tricky part is in what "category" does the mistake fall? Some mistakes are more detrimental than others; that being said, my recent visit to Dr. han's office was a joy. I was very upset, my last visit, due to post-op pain, and a, poorly timed, inability to get pain meds prescribed immediately. I appreciate the assistance, but a staff suggestion for a patient to "visit a hospital ER" to get pain meds, POST-OP, is 1) unacceptable and 2) bordering on insulting. This visit, however, was professional, timely, and FUN, "top down." The staff was friendly, and felt less "clique-y;" no patient should be made to feel like a bother. Wait-time was non-existent. While I admit this is highly unusual, in any doctor's office--so keep your expectations reasonable--it was a nice surprise being seen immediately. Stitch-removal was uncomfortable, but I understand the "why" of same. Scarring varies, race to race. Stitch-removal is, in and of itself, an art. Dr. Han is a superb artist. The finger repair looks good so far. No more mallet finger. Dr. Han explained, AS HE ALWAYS HAS, followup recovery, healing time, and ultimate range-of-motion methodologies/results. It was refreshing speaking to Dr. Han as an individual versus a patient solely. Dr. Han presented as funloving, caring, and diligent, in-tune with patient concerns--and life in general. I felt more at ease during this latest visit thanks, largely to, the finger-fix, the front desk reception, and a "toned-down" pace evident in the office. Maybe it was the day of the week; maybe it was zero pain, or lack of fear. Whatever the reason(s), the ambiance if Dr. Han's office was soothing. I need to see Dr. Han again (hence, one star reserved) but if the latest visit is any indication of upgraded care, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this physician. Bad days and/or hiccups are not well tolerated in medical surroundings, and I suspect things went a bit awry at Dr. Han's office after the "Pain Med Debacle." Many thanks to Dr. Han for refreshing, upbeat banter coupled with excellent, post-op care; my finger looks amazing! Many thanks, also, to Dr. Han's office staff for making me feel like a patient...versus a burden. Changes, for the better, seem to be in place. I remind any, surgical recipient: if not satisfied with the process, or final results, speak up--immediately, consistently, and repeatedly. Healthcare is a personal experience, unique to everyone. I went in for a minor issue, that only required max a 5 minute office visit with Dr. Han. Three weeks later my primary doctor called and said they have requested report from Han and they said they would fax it over. For about a week this was going on, back and forth between the two. Finally, I called told them I wanted it sent that day to them as well as informing them that this was just ridiculous. Their only excuse was that Han had not done the dictation of the findings and one office lady said he was quite slow in getting this done. My case is a very minor one, but if this is how he deals with this, I wonder how he handles major issues...slow in reporting as well. They take a two hour lunch break every day which is quite surprising really. If he is toooooo busy, then he needs to not accept any new patients. I totally do not recommend going to him. Find another if you can. If they want money from the insurance then they should work for it. Doctors should only be respected for what they do, not who they are. read more

I guess that's what you get from a work comp plastic surgeon for hands and wrists and who makes their bucks doing other procedures. Dr. Han performed carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand on December 21, 2015. I chose Dr. Han because I had talked to friends who had him do their successful surgeries. I also had talked to a professional who informed me that he was considered the best in his field. I want to let you know my experience so it may relieve any apprehension you may have. I had NO pain at all after the surgery. I have no pain now and just had my follow up appointment yesterday at Dr. Han's office. He also removed a cyst from my right index finger. I am all smiles since I had suffered for many years with my hand and arm going numb. Now, I no longer need to wear carpel tunnel brace to sleep at night:). I am scheduled to go back to work on January 23rd. Dr. Han wants to see me back on February 16 to make sure my atrophy is improving and my strength is back:). If you are looking for a hand surgeon who provides "standard level of care" then go see Dr. Han. If your looking for "exceptional level of care" I recommend the doctors and staff at Sierra Pacific Orthopedic Center or Dr. Galley or Avena in the greater fresno area. I unfortunately was sent to Dr. Han on a work comp claim. He performed surgery on by right hand which went well. A few months later he performed the same type of surgery on my left hand and I knew immediately after that something was wrong. I went back in the next day and he basically guessed that I had RSD, trauma to a nerve. He did nothing more for over three weeks other than send me to therapy. He advised me that he wanted to go back in as he wasn't saying he did anything wrong but just wanted to make sure everything was ok. His request sat on his secretary's desk and was still there after another week. During this time I had no feeling in my left hand and it eventually started to turn grey. After I went in and received permission for another surgery did anything happen. When he did go back in he found that he had "nicked" an artery on the first surgery and the bleeding caused a "fifty cent size" hemotoma on my median nerve. This caused damage to my median and alna nerve and subsequently I was deemed permanently disabled by the state and had to retire from a job that I truly loved. Again Dr. Han did nothing more than send me to therapy and even his own admission advised that I would not be in the condition I am today if he had done more than his "standard level of care". So if you want "exceptional standard of care" don't go see Dr. Han. read more
