It all started when I won a HydraFascial giveaway that they hosted on Instagram. And from then on I've been going there for most of my treatments. They're located right off of Liliha St. a few buildings before the Liliha Medical Bldg. They do share a parking lot with TLC Medical Center and a couple of other businesses. If you're coming from China town it will be on your left. Once you enter you have a modern spa like feel and greeted by the staff. Their staff is very welcoming and offer you a beverage while you wait for your nurse/esthetician. Everything is so clean and neat and very put together. I went in for my HydraFascial and my first Brazilian laser treatment. This was sometime ago. From then I had already I think about 6 treatments. When I got my laser treatment with Sara, she was very reassuring and she will talk to you during the procedure. She will also make sure that you are comfortable during the process. She did warn me that my first treatment I will feel the pinching and pulling more. And as I continued on with my visits the pinching and pulling did subside. Upon entering you will have a bed and machine, along with a towel and protective glasses that you will need to wear during the treatment. After treatment is done Sara does give me extra gel on a stick to put on the area that was just treated, along with some wipes to wipe off the gel that was used during the treatment. My HydraFascial was done with a girl that is no longer there, but she was very nice during my fascial. She also made sure that I was comfortable before she started and she walked me through the every step she was doing. She did some extracting and recommended a couple of things that I can do to help my acne situation which also was due to hormones. Can't wait for my next treatment. read more

I have been coming to Honolulu MedSpa for some time now and I have to say I love this place! I primarily come here for laser hair removal. If you are thinking about trying it out for the first time... look to their social media accounts for monthly specials. They often offer affordable packages such as buy two treatments get one free etc. I have seen many girls for treatments here including Sarah, Elaine and Jesse. All girls are very friendly and make the experience very comfortable. The facility is beautiful and seems kept up to medical grade standards in terms of cleanliness/sterility. When you check in for your appointment you are offered refreshments while you wait. I also like that the employees at the front desk are discreet and don't talk too loudly about your procedure in front of other clients in the room for your privacy. Poor business etiquette. Poor management. Poor all around. After going here for almost 2 years: My service provider "accidentally" injected one side of my face (crows feet area) with kybella instead of Botox and I've spent $4500 trying to fix it at a plastic surgeons office as my face deteriorates a little more every week. What a joke this place is! I called to meet with the owner in person and we made an appointment for 2 weeks out. A week before our appt he has someone from the Spa call me and essentially try to demean me, tell me there isn't anything they can do to help me and get out of the meeting I had scheduled with the owners my 5th attempt to resolve and 2nd time I'd been in to show them the horrifying results. Hate crimes? Human error? Poooooooor customer relations?! Desperate to succeed? Racist?? Not sure but they are not worthy of injecting anyone with anything! Be careful!! read more

Every now & then I have days where absolutely nothing goes right; today was one of them. My alarm didn't ring which made me late to my first class + my new phone started to run at a snail's pace. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a FedEx building & grew increasingly frustrated since Google's directions weren't helpful, so I bought a GPS app that refused to work. When I thought my day couldn't get any worse, it started to pour. As soon as I declared it a "BAD DAY!!!", I remembered the appointment I had for a complimentary facial. A few weeks ago I won a contest & the prize was an "Essential Facial" at the Honolulu MedSpa. If there was ever a day I needed to de-stress, this was definitely one of them. I know it sounds silly, but I was nervous about getting a facial because I have some unpleasant "horror" stories from beauty treatments (you can ask me about it) but after my first facial I'm in LOVE! When I stepped inside the treatment room, I was greeted by soft lighting & soothing music which made me forgot about my chaotic day. Josalynn, a truly talented esthetician with magical hands, helped ease my initial anxiety by informing me about what she was going to do next, educated me about my skin & informed me about various ways I could reach my skin's full potential. I love it here. I first came because I bought a groupon or some other online deal for laser hair removal. I previously received laser hair removal treatments at a plastic surgeon's office, which was very much a medical setting. I was much happier at Honolulu MedSpa because, although they perform many procedures that are more medical in nature, they still manage to keep it as spa-like as possible. So even though you're getting a sometimes uncomfortable procedure done, like laser hair removal or laser tattoo removal, you still feel pretty relaxed. The first time I went to Honolulu MedSpa, Martha, who I believe is the spa manager, performed my procedure. She is very pleasant, professional and meticulous, which is good when you're trying to zap every hair with a laser! I was very happy I chose Honolulu MedSpa over other laser hair removal places at that point. The next time I had my my hair removal procedure, Uliana was my esthetician. Uliana is so great - sweet and pleasant to deal with. She also is very meticulous in performing my procedures and is happy to tailor the treatment to your needs. Needless to say, I have purchased a variety of additional laser treatments from Honolulu MedSpa, including laser tattoo removal! Martha performed the procedure, and Uliana assisted. I have only had one treatment with the Picosure, but I see some noticeable fading. I can't wait for my next treatment on Saturday! It's worth mentioning that although the procedure is a bit painful, the calming, spa-like environment helps. Also, I appreciated that Martha gave me her personal cell number to contact her if there were any issues since they were closed the next day (Sunday). I walked in to purchase Skinceutical Products. I knew what I wanted so it was easy. What I did not know was how wonderful and fabulous the service was. Shay was amazing. I asked her about a product and she was very knowledgeable. Although they did not have it, she offered to provide me a sample. So kind. She then asked if I yelped and I said yes. She said check in for 10% off. She provided me samples and even gave me a blanket. Staff and providers here are all amazing! The front desk staff are all so friendly and patient with answering questions and scheduling appointments. They make you feel comfortable right away which really sets a good tone for your whole appointment. The providers are all so knowledgable and you can tell that they really care about their patients. I've had several treatments with several different providers during this past year and they all are great! If I could go there every day, I would. I had the best Hydrafacial experience ever with Tiana at HMS. This isn't just a standard, check-all-the-boxes-and-show-you-the-door Hydrafacial. You get an awesome neck and shoulder massage, extractions, and a full line-up of luxury skin products applied to eek out every last benefit of the trademark treatment. I had 7 treatments of the laser hair removal (full legs, underarms, Brazilian) and couldn't be happier with the results! All areas are smooth and stubble-free! No more dealing with shaving, skin irritations, or razor bumps. With that being said, it did come with some pitfalls. I went in every 6-8 weeks therefore the whole treatment took over a year, so it requires commitment and patience. Also, I think the description of "painless" is very misleading. Maybe I am more sensitive than others, but I thought it was painful, especially on the lower leg and Brazilian area. It did get better after the 4th or 5th treatment. Lastly, it is costly. I think I paid about $3k. Despite all of that, I still think it was totally worth it! read more

I scheduled a consult with Nurse Arlene for Botox and fillers. She was very informative and made sure I understood the process and the different types of fillers. She didn't try to up sell me anything or tell me what I should do, she just listened to what i was looking for and made an educated suggestion. She even helped me save some $$ !! I had 5-6 sessions for laser hair removal on my arms and face and eventually stopped when it became clear that my hair was growing in thicker. I now have thick hair growing in areas that I previously had no hair. They never warned that laser hair removal can increase hair growth. Also, I had a different esthetician each time I went it, creating very little consistency and monitoring. Also each esthetician have the client to lay or sit in a different way, without asking the client's preference. I was often sitting or laying in an uncomfortable manner during the session. Honolulu MedSpa has very nice offices and good receptionists, but you pay a lot for it since their rates are high. read more

This is an **UPDATE** to a review I posted and also an answer to the med spa's response- which in my opinion comes across as very hasty as well as immature and unprofessional. A) They questioned if I had the correct spa. 150% YES, that IS where I went, I am not an idiot, thank you. B) They questioned my statement about Dr. Yeo being on site. I asked if there was a Md there on one of my visits and was told "no he is not here very often". My statement was also an information warning to others about medical spa's in general, but obviously Honolulu Med Spa didn't bother to read the review properly. (I will be checking their statement about Dr. Yeo being on site every day. I am also posting a SECOND PART to this review with research and links about Dr. Yeo as an MD and information about aesthetic nurse qualifications WITH LINKS that can be verified. This is for education purposes as you really don't want to give someone thousands of dollars to inject stuff into your face and it then go wrong and you can't do anything about it.. ) C) They said they don't allow providers who are "wet behind the ears" to treat "patients".. AGAIN they misread my review by saying I mentioned "untrained providers". Actually- the facialist WAS wet behind the ears. She couldn't answer basic skincare questions and seemed utterly checked out and disinterested. IMO- that is 100% wet behind the ears! For $140 I want RESULTS and a good experience, not a limp wristed teenager with a fancy face vacuum. RE: the aesthetic nurse, I said she had JUST been trained, as in less than a month when she treated me. Not "untrained" as Honolulu Med Spa stated in their response. Again, whoever read the review and responded- DID NOT BOTHER to read it thoroughly and respond appropriately. Quite representative of their service really. I KNOW the nurse had only just been trained in injectables when she drew lines on my face before she injected. The more experienced NP's and plastic surgeons I've seen before don't have to do this. Also I went to get a dermatology treatment at Kaiser Permanente and the provider took one look at my face and asked who did my lips. I told her and the KP lady said she had trained that nurse LAST MONTH), and that she had injected the lip filler too close to the surface of the lips and that's why it didn't look right. Of course this made me feel very anxious and upset. More fool me for not checking, normally I won't let anyone with less than 5-6 years clinical practice touch my face. Honolulu med Spa then challenged if it was them I went to a SECOND time, and said I should have brought it to their attention early on. Actuallllyyyy I wrote to the med spa AND sent photos directly after the KP appointment. I also said I was unhappy with the facial and reception said the owner would contact me and they never did... I can't be chasing people down constantly. They were very aware of the fact I wasn't happy as I asked for a refund of two treatments I'd pre paid for as I just did not want to go back there. This was in part due to the fact that when I went to the standard 2 week after treatment check up, the nurse claimed everything was going to be OK and massaged my lips to move the filler around, whilst trying to say that the white blister looking bit in the middle of my lips was what "everyone wanted these days"! rather than take responsibility that it may not have been done well. This is also when they refused to redo the botox that didn't take. The nurse also made me feel very uncomfortable, which was wierd after her acting nice, by asking me to wait in the treatment room after she had massaged the fillers and taken photos. She then returned with an aggressive and defensive attitude and demanded to know the name of the person who told me my lips were't done well. I felt like I was piggy in the middle of these two people at different facilities! The person who responded from the Med Spa also said that I had said "that my blisters were getting larger"..TOTALLY WRONG for literally the 4th time! It's so very irritating to have this person respond to my review and make it so obvious that they haven't even taken the time to read the review thoroughly and then just respond in such a slapdash fashion all the while basically questioning the authenticity of my review. They also said that it's easy to fix the Botox that didn't take. Oh yes OF COURSE its easy, IF I was willing to pay another $400 for the exact same treatment!!!! Which I wasn't!!! Every other place I've been to in my home town of London, UK and also another place in Honolulu redoes botox free of charge if the results aren't what they should be. H.M.S claim they would like to resolve this with me, unfortunately they had several chances to resolve at the time, and they made me feel uncomfortable and I totally lost trust in them. I've been a patient of Honolulu Med spa since 2004 treating my face with laser hair removal at least 2-3 times a year as routine maintenance. Since I was a long time customer a discount was applied to my account. About two weeks ago I had an appointment with Kanoe, my norm esthetician. As I was about to lay on the table she went over areas of treatment and it's cost. It's always been $80 something dollars for each visit but for some reason they decided to bump up the price to almost $200 because as she put it they were changing procedure policies. Now I can understand if the prices bumped up a few dollars no problem but to double the cost, that doesn't make any sense. Clearly I was upset and disgusted with the offer. As we went over the procedure and cost she was not able to make an executive decision without consulting her manager first. After a couple of times going back n fourth I decided to get up and walk out. Hmmmm...what is a 100% of zero? Not only did they lose a customer but they also preferred to make zero production from me. Prior to my appointment I did not receive a callback from a phone message I left 1 week before. Not cool!!!!!!! I had to select 1 star just to post. They actually don't deserve any stars! That should have been done before I entered the treatment room. What a waste of my time and my day!!!!! Shay, In response to your response. No, I did not receive any call from your office since then. Please note I do have my call log on my phone that clearly shows "NO PHONE CALL" from your office. As I discussed at my appointment "HISTORY, NOTES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN AT THE END OF EACH VISIT" will prove that I've always had the same procedure as well as the cost of each visit. Now, since 2004 I'VE ALWAYS HAD THE SAME TREATMENT. If it was ever an issue it should have been addressed earlier, NOT several years later. What should have happened was management should have addressed my concerns NOT YOUR TECH!. It's funny how it took this review for Honolulu Med Spa to address my concerns. What I should do is request a copy of my notes along with an itemized "services that was rendered," so I can upload a copy and let the public decide for themselves who is in the right or who is in the wrong? I don't handle the books nor billing, at the end of the day "History" has the last say. My review was simply my personal experience with you folks. Regardless what I had done, how often I came in and charges that occurred, is not my mistake, It's Honolulu Med Spa. We can go on and on with this, bottom line you guys are in the wrong. Let's be professional and admit to our faults, simple fix. Had laser hair removal done here and after let's say, 10 sessions, I don't need to come back (but will still choose to for maintenance haha). First time getting a facial at a spa and EVERYTHING was a 5-STAR service experience. Easy to find, convenient location and plenty of parking. Facilities are very clean and newly renovated. Disclaimer: I won a 4-D laser facelift from attending a yelp event. (I never win anything). But I did not pay for this treatment. Other things you should know: I don't regularly wear makeup. I put on moisturizer and sunscreen everyday and it's a miracle if my hair is down and stays down all day. Personal grooming is not something I spend a lot of time on. I'm of a certain age where you notice the crow's feet a little more and you pull your face back a little in the mirror and remember when you couldn't pull your face back 20 years ago. The treatment itself was interesting. I did a little research (YouTube and Google) and it seemed relatively harmless and with not much downtime (social or physical), which was all very true. My face was definitely red for a day or two, but I stayed moisturized and have been following my post care directions, and have been more attentive to sunscreen than I usually am. So, the lasers are real. They did one inside of my mouth (to inspire collagen growth or something). Ouch. Lasers inside the mouth hurt. The next three "rounds" consisted of a few different kinds/levels of lasers to do different things to my skin. None of it was awful but it wasn't relaxing like a facial. Janika, my new bestie was the best. She talked me through everything, told me what was going on and kept me at ease throughout the process. She even made me laugh when she was causing me pain and complimented me on my skin when I came in which was lovely of her. She is a true gem and made the whole thing easier. It's now been a few days since the treatment and I haven't noticed much of a change, but my skin is starting to peel (which it is supposed to do), so we shall see what things look like in the next few weeks. If I could afford this, I might do it a little more often. But for now I'm going to have to stick to winning free stuff. read more

The absolute best medspa I have ever been to! From setting up an appointment to the work they do it is wonderful! The staff have always been warm & friendly and very informative. Lisa is absolutely the best injector on the entire island! During my consultation she asked me my main concerns & we came up with a plan. She never tried to oversell or pressure me into anything. She was like let's start with a little Botox & a little filler and go from there. Lucky for me they were having a special too!! Oh & they offer military and first responder discounts! Fast forward to today.. I now have a defined chin & jaw line, amazing cheekbones and my forehead & eye area is so smooth!! I have gotten so many compliments & everyone says I look at least 15 years younger!!!! My only regret is that I didn't visit sooner. Do not waste your money on Emsculpt!! I've had 2 services here: Juvederm XC filler in lips and Emsculpt so my review is an average for both. I bought the package of 4 Emsculpt treatments for my buttocks and my friend bought the package for abs. We both came out seeing absolutely no differences other than our bank account being $3000 lower. Big waste of money, don't let them talk you into it!! (0 stars) I received Juvederm filler injections from Courtney and she was very nice and good at her job. It did hurt like hell which I wasn't really expecting since they provided a dental block. I bruised a little for 5-7 days and my lips look good now except I don't think the 1 syringe was enough to make a difference. Will be going back for this. So, back in November 2018 I decided to attend their anniversary celebration and bought Botox and filler on the nurses Arlene suggestion. Afterwards, I made my appointment and Arlene was my aesthetics nurse. It was the worst appointment ever. She was very rough and she over cleaned my face with alcohol swabs, she even got some of the stuff up my nose. I Have been to many different places in Virginia, California and Texas and never received such a treatment. I looked at my face after the Botox and filler she recommended since she said the one I bought wouldn't due. While at home I had to massage area around mouth due to her leaving lumps and not massaging it in. I waited and checked for differences in between eyes and mouth. In between eyes looked the same and one side of mouth looked worse then other side. I was supposed to go back for a checkup, but didn't trust her treatment of my face. Update: 8 Feb 2019, I finally just had another appointment from Courtney, she appeared knowledgeable and awaiting to see if any changes occur. I was hoping this would begin a new experience, but not sure. The one thing I did notice was that when I asked Courtney about my scowl line in between my eyes and fixing it, she stated: we can soften the effect with Botox in different parts of my forehead. She also said, but I'm not a magician. Funny, I have never in my entire time of going to an aesthetic business have I ever heard anyone say anything along those lines. I'm not asking you to be a magician just suggestions or solutions on how to soften area so it's not too pronounced. All other places I've been to, are personable and listen to you and I have never had any issues. This is the first time, and if I didn't have fillers and Botox I bought prior, I would never go back. Thinking about it, I never went back to my other aesthetics personnel due to being dissatisfied, I was always happy with the results. They do a consultation over the phone and discuss what to do to prep for your appointment, when you get there you call and check in on the phone and someone will come get you from your car. FYI: there's difference between bikini and removing all hair down there, which is what they term "extended bikini" and that is not covered by the deals that you buy. POSITIVES: + Keiko, one of their esthetician's, is wonderful. Professional, makes you feel comfortable, but it able to make you laugh too (this can be awkward when you're baring your all down there right?) + Front desk service was really helpful in helping me figure out my financial fiasco with paying for my service that day + Ample parking + Appears neat and clean NEGATIVES: - the prices are ridiculous. they're special promotion of having $600 for 6 sessions of extended bikini (which is what they consider 60% off normal price) is more than a normal non-discounted laser hair removal with a cool tip machine in the mainland (runs about $400)...but everything's more expensive in Hawaii right? Please see my review below for my detailed experience with laser hair removal. I just wanted to add: It's now been several months since I had my last treatment for underarm hair removal, and I can say that the results are still great! I no longer have to worry about shaving daily, or even after a few days or longer! The great part is, even though the hair will slowly/eventually grow back, it's noticeably thinner than it was before. So much so, that even WITH a couple millimeters growth, from far away it is NOT noticeable that hair is even present! So sometimes I won't feel like I NEED to shave even IF there is some hair growth! :D read more

2 stars = I've experienced a lot better. The esthetician was friendly, informative, and professional--no problem with her. The receptionist not as friendly. Over priced and misrepresentation of service purchased. Rubbing creams and gels when I asked for a true facial extraction resulted in a breakout. My last two facials were amazing. I received one at Four Seasons hotel in Carmelo, Uruguay, and another in the states. After both experiences, my face came out glowing and clean. Proceed with caution. read more

I've done laser hair removal in a few different places but the machine at Hon Med Spa is the least painful (and its fast!) and Ewa is great! In my opinion, the best place to have laser hair removal done on Oahu. It's probably also the most expensive place, but when it comes to laser-ing the hair off my body, I'm happy to pay more for safety and comfort. The spa is super clean and nice, staff very professional- I plan on going back for a Hydrofacial and will be sure to report back :) read more
