On May 7, 2025, Doctor Wong performed platysmaplasty surgery on my neck. For those unfamiliar with this procedure, it is also known as the turkey neck removal procedure. From start to finish, the surgery was perfect. The procedure took place in the sterile surgical suite in Doctor Wong's office. The anesthesiologist did her job just as I was hoping she would. After approximately two hours, the surgery was complete. I removed the bandage the next day and experienced no pain. I was ecstatic with the appearance of my neck. Fast-forwarding to today, I have never experienced any discomfort. My neck scar is barely visible, and I've been told I appear to look twenty years younger. Thank you, Doctor Wong! read more

BOTCHED!!! Procedures- Implant removal with fat transfer to breast from lips from legs and a breast lift From the beginning.... I did my due diligence and went to at least 8 different doctors for consultations. I did 3 with Dr. Wong before deciding on him. I liked him for his granola type feel, seemingly more holistic, and dare I say, embarrassingly now, he was a few thousand less than my other front runner. It turns out, I was in 4 months of recovery vs. 4 weeks as was assured I would be by Dr. Wong. The wounds that were made from the breast lift after implant removal didn't heal as promised. It got infected and I was in excruciating pain and out of work for 4 months. To rub salt into the wound, I was told by Dr. Wong I wasn't healing as well because I didn't think positive enough about the procedure and outcome!!!! After the surgery, it was clear something wasn't right. I was in a lot of pain and the incisions looked infected. He (and his secretary wife) kept assuring me over the phone everything was going as planned, even with the pictures I sent them via text. Clearly it wasn't so he finally saw me and initially for the first month, I went to him post care and he could see it wasn't right and was getting infected. In one of the visits, 2 1/2 weeks post surgery, he made the matter worse when he was tending to the wounds and accidentally cut the internal stitches! The photo attached of the wounds was ON THE SAME DAY after he debrided (cleaned) it on 9/9! This visit was the worst but not the only faulty post-care he gave me but needless to say, the road to recovery was traumatic! I ended up going to the wound specialists with Queens hospital when I could see this was beyond his ability to care for me. I was reluctant to post this because, despite all of this, I don't think Dr. Wong or his wife are malicious in anyway, yet it is important for others to know about his work. And for 4 years, I believed it was my fault that this happened due what Dr. Wong told me, my skin was too thin and to a lesser extent- I didn't put enough positivity into the whole process. Four years later, when I went to another plastic surgeon for him to fix what Dr. Wong did, he essentially said, had I gone to him the first time around, this debacle and infection wouldn't have happened in the first place. I essentially had a botched job. And although the skin they worked with was thinner it was the way he made the incisions that caused the trauma and that whole experience didn't need to happen!!! I was so afraid to go under the knife again because all this time I thought it was my "thinner" skin that was the culprit and I would never be able to heal normally if I ever tried again. It's hard to tell from the picture but the way my breasts healed were so unsightly and hard to fill out any of my smaller sized bras or tops. Also, they were VERY lumpy with the fat transfer. And shockingly, I also discovered later from a mammogram that Dr. Wong left the encapsulation in my breasts!!!! What I am saying is, in the implant removal surgery, when he went to remove my one of my implants, the left one was incapsulated with scar tissue and he actually took out the implant but left the scar tissue (that had surrounded the implant) in my breast!!! I couldn't believe it! If you want to see the mammogram photo of this let me know and I will send that too. If possible, I will attach photos of the wounds and what my breasts looked liked after it was all said and done- saggy, flat but lumpy pancakes with 2 blueberries on them! All of that time, pain, agony and $$$$$ for what I was left with!!! It was a very traumatic experience!! Also, the liposuction that Dr. Wong did on my thighs (to retrieve fat for my breasts) was HORRIBLE. I will forever have uneven dents on my thighs that look way worse than cellulite. The 2nd doctor that I went to years later did an amazing job and he was actually the front runner for this procedure in the first place. The photo with the stars is the picture of my breasts today. Thankfully, the scars I have from the botched surgery can mostly only be seen up close and under my breasts and not from afar. I cannot say how relieved I was to go through another surgery and being terrified of possibly going through the trauma again and then it turned out to be amazing. And look at that, I was scared and not thinking positively as I was the first time.... And it worked out beautifully despite the fear I went into it with!! I will send photos if you reach out to me. This doctor left my face disfigured by overinjecting my tear trough area with radiesse. He also failed to tell me prior to treatment that this product is semi permanent with no way to easily dissolve it. 6 months later I'm still dealing with the consequences. I have always looked younger than my age of 32 but now I look almost 40yrs old because of the huge bags and tindling effect caused by the poor injection technique used. I have never been more self conscious of my looks in my life. The cherry on top is he refuses to give me my money back. I wouldn't let someone pay me a million dollars to look how I look right now let alone pay him over $1000. It's absolutely shameful. BUTCHER. If you want to be botched, go to Dr. Wong! He's passive aggressive, untalented, operates out of an uncertified operating room, and wife/front desk person/assistant in the operating room , is a spiteful bully. Of course they have to list this business on yelp and Real Self under two different names. I regret ever having walked in to this place! What would have been a fairly straightforward stomach muscle repair, I ended up with a completely deformed midsection and belly button wildly off-center. Never had loose skin in my life and all the sudden there was skin bulging and hanging everywhere. He and I both knew it wasn't right two days after the surgery upon looking under the bandages. He even admitted he sutured my belly button in the wrong spot and tried to fix it in office two weeks later which was unsuccessful. Constantly suggested the atrocious outcome was my fault, a product of having gained weight,etc. which I did not. Months later suggested we liposuction out the hanging skin and scar tissue (at my expense!) and leave my belly button off center, for which I got three other opinions and all of which said that would be a terrible choice that liposuction would not fix anything and in fact would make everything worse. Thank God I did not listen to Dr. Wong. My hideous results were only part of my dissatisfaction. There was no pain management, (he believes you can think it away!) There were no aftercare instructions whatsoever, I had no idea I needed to be prepared with TONS of bandages etc. or that I would be stapled up with metal staples constantly bleeding and draining all over the place for six weeks. Completely distraught and being told by Dr. Wong that essentially this is "how I heal" and that doing a second complete abdominoplasty would likely end up with the same results, I chose an excellent local plastic surgeon who was floored at what had happened with me. He read my medical notes from Wong and said he never seen anything like it, and that many things did not add up. I paid a fortune to have a complete revision done and thank God it turned out incredibly. Not a single metal staple, excellent (and not excessive) pain management, I completely healed up in three weeks, he cut out all of my internal scar tissue and visible scar that looks like ground beef, ((actually tightened up the ENTIRE muscle which Dr. Wong was supposed to do but only did partially!)), and returned my navel to the correct location, all with very little swelling and the utmost aftercare, and I just could not be more pleased. Dr. Wong tried to make me feel like his surgery technique was not at fault for my results, that it was somehow my fault. He's lucky that I don't sue him for malpractice. I'm so pleased with my second surgery that I just want to be done with all of this! Do not go to this man for plastic surgery. He is an absolute "gentle" jerk. read more

Traumatizing results .. i had a feeling the day of my surgery that I made a huge mistake when I realized that Maria who's the office receptionist will be assisting doctor in my surgery I should've ran, but I knew my money wasn't refundable so I went along with surgery. This office doesn't do enough business to hire a full time nurse to assist during surgeries. Big first hint I choose dr. Wong , because I'm in my 40's and wanted a conservative results just little tweaking nothing noticeable and doctor Wong assured me that he does bbl and liposuction all the time. I showed him pictures of other patients that I liked online and he pointed out irregularities in those pictures, and assured me that I will have better results. After the surgery he acted like I should be happy with my extremely poor results he even told me when I pointed out how my two hips are grossly uneven that one hip is higher that the other and that I just need to message my body to help reduce irregularities. I came to this office to get BBL, liposuction, and otoplasty. every single area of my body this doctor operated on is ruined. I have skin irregularities everywhere that can be seen from a mile away. My two hips, inner thighs and even belly are all noticeably uneven even with clothes on . I was not given post op bbl care instructions, or the correct bbl compression garment as if they have never done this surgery prior, so bbl surgery failed . I also had otoplasty which also failed. my ears started to stick out a month after surgery I also had horrible pain in my right ear for about a year now which I was told by another plastic surgeon that it was caused by a suture Dr. Wong failed to remove after surgery. I can't say that I'm pleased with one single area doctor Wong operated on as if I was his very first patient even and he was practicing. I paid this office over 16k and I'm ashamed to even wear shorts I should've stayed away from this office when I did my research on yelp this office had 49 reviews and now the reviews are down to 14 which leads me to believe they were fake positive reviews this office posted. I recently had a procedure to remove a large lipoma off of my left shoulder blade. I had carried it around for over a decade hesitant to take care of it. I started getting discomfort and got annoyed as it grew lto the size of a baseball. I interviewed with the best surgeons on Oahu to remove it surgically and after talking with and choosing Dr. Randy Wong, I'm so glad I did. Dr. Wong makes you feel at ease the moment you walk in and all during the surgery. And his assistant has the same calming demeanor and makes you feel at ease especially approaching surgery. I have pictures, receipts, text messages, and emails if anyone needs confirmation. The short story: October (ish) 2019- Dr. Wong performed my implant replacement and lift (about $17,000) and I knew something was wrong as soon as I came out of surgery. My left implant was practically under my collar bone and in my armpit. It stayed in that exact position until my revision. I waited 6 months (in pain for at least 3 months after) to have a revision and I absolutely could not believe I was quoted $4000 for a revision. Based on how botched the first surgery was there is no way I should have had to pay for anything. Shortly after providing that quote they said they would do it for $3000 if I paid by a cashier's check. I didn't want to go back but also couldn't afford another $15k to get a new surgeon. I might as well have. The second surgery was botched as well. My left breast is deformed as a result of how he stitched me up. I went for a few follow-ups but eventually quit going because I was afraid what a 3rd surgery would cost or what the results would be. Long story: I decided to have my Allergan textured implants replaced when Allergan first announced the risk of cancer associated with the implants. I decided on Dr. Wong because at the time he had great reviews, I liked his demeanor, and that his office didn't feel like a "surgery mill". We knew Allergan may provide free replacement implants. I paid a little over $17k for a lift and replacement implants with the agreement that the $2700 cost of the implants would be refunded if the implants were free. Dr. Wong's wife is the receptionist, surgical coordinator, billing person, and apparently his surgical assistant. I was shocked when she scrubbed in for my surgery. It really feels unethical to have someone who does billing take part in my surgery especially when I had to argue with her about payment (more on that in a bit). The whole office is a 2 person show. Dr. Wong did not have anyone else to assist with surgery other than his wife. She always made me feel as if I was a bother. Allergan did provide new implants so under my quotes I should have gotten a $2700 refund. Mrs. Wong gave me a $2000 check. When I initially asked her why it was $700 less she said it was because they still charge me retail price for the implant. The whole thing really rubbed me the wrong way so when I called back to argue my point that they weren't honoring their quote she said the $700 was an "inconvenience fee" since I wasn't already a patient there. I persisted. She ended the call by saying (and I quote), "I don't want to have to deal with this, I'll mail you a check." And hung up on me! I had to text to make sure she had my correct mailing address. Other issues that weren't huge but definitely speaks to the professionalism: After I provided my blood work Dr. Wong emailed me a question. A week or so later I emailed him to ask a question. Next time I went into the office his wife told me that they don't do email. So I guess I wasn't supposed to email the office that emailed me even though I signed an electronic communication release. Dr. Wong does not provide pain medication. I was in constant pain for weeks as a result of the location of the implant. At one point I felt an absolutely excruciating pain under my arm. Pain was at least 9 out of 10. I called the cell phone number I had been using to communicate with them for months. Mrs. Wong answered and was clearly aggravated that I had called. Dr. Wong just said one of my internal stitches probably snapped. Didn't bother to offer any suggestions to help dull the pain that stayed with me for over a week. I went through with the revision after that and that's when it really bothered me that Mrs. Wong scrubbed in again given that there were many instances where she displayed open hostility toward me. I will never go back there. My recent consultant with different surgeons have all said I need my implants removed and new ones put in, scar revision, revised lift, and redo my areola/nipple because my nipples are no longer in the middle of my areola. (Not even close) If I prevent even one person from making the same mistake I did at least I help someone while preventing him from benefiting from ruining someone else's body. read more

So far my experience at Honolulu plastic surgery has been a positive one. From the start I spoke with Shigeri Wong, Dr Randy Wong's wife and the office manager. And she is a lovely woman. From the start she gave me all the Information I needed for my procedure and the process of making my appointments. And she made it so easy and understandable. She went strait to the point and was honest about the procedures but also open minded in what I was interested in. Which is what I think is very important in any procedure, is that the patient is heard and understood about what their wants and needs are. (Because it is their procedure) she was also very personable and easy to express yourself too which is another thing I think is important when getting a procedure done. She's also a very funny and sweet lady. :) Dr Randy Wong is very experienced and very easy to talk to and he takes time to consulate with his patients to make sure you get exactly what you want and that he explains it so you understand thoroughly what you need to prepare for. What I appreciated the most is you could tell he was passionate about making sure I got what I wanted. I had some specific requests and I appreciate that Dr Randy Wong and Shigeri Wong were adamite in trying to give me what I want but we're also honest about what could be done and couldn't. They were both also very patient with me in general. I felt safe and content with my decision to go to Dr Wong. And so far my procedure is looking good and I'm more than happy with my results! This was my first time having surgery and I thank both Dr Wong and Shigeri for turning a somewhat scary experience into an easy one. I had been to a few other offices already when I first came to my consultation at his office because it was really important that I found someone who I felt comfortable with & who I felt would do the best job. DISASTROUS RESULTS!!! It has taken me a long time to write this--I have never done this before. This a warning to anyone thinking of having surgery with Dr. Wong. I went to Dr. Wong in 2018 to repair a previous surgery. I had a neck lift 2yrs. Earlier with another Dr. The result left me feeling like I was being strangled and the doctor had removed too much fat under my chin. When I saw Dr. Wong--he was soft spoken and he listened, very deceptive. After 3 consults with him, he told me he could transplant my fat from my stomach surgically and put into my neck to SOFTEN THE TIGHTNESS, and fill in under my chin. He said he had done this many times and assured me I would have 80% improvement. He suggested I have fat put under my eyes. I said NO,I DON'T WANT ANYTHING DONE TO MY FACE!!! Each time I saw him he talked about his spiritual beliefs. I thought this was very inappropriate. He always had a lot of time to talk as there was never another patient waiting. I had to pay in full, over $10,000.00 with a cashiers check. I almost canceled but this was non-refundable. I am an older woman and I am not wealthy. I did not know that he did not have a nurse or an anesthesiologist assisting during surgery. He had his receptionist assisting. Perhaps, he can't afford help. During our pre-op we went over everything , and again , I said do not want anything done to my face, and he agreed. The surgery was a complete disaster. My neck is now much tighter, with lumps of fat inside, that feel like stones rubbing into my glands , muscles, and soft tissue. I have a lot of headaches and shoulder aches and burning in the sides of my face. I am in much more pain than before this surgery. AND, HE PUT FAT ALL OVER MY FACE , DOWN THE SIDES BELOW THE TEMPLES AND UNDER MY CHEEK BONES AND IN FRONT OF MY FACE. He changed my appearance. I had been a model, and I was happy with my face. I hate it now. When I asked him why he did this , he said,"you looked like a skeleton". He PROMISED me he would surgically remove the fat , however, then I would need a lower face lift because he had stretched the skin. I waited a few months to see if the fat would dissolve and not be so tight. When the time came to do the surgery his receptionist quit abruptly and his wife took over. She told me it would be another $7000.00 to do the repair. I was shocked. She yelled at me,"What do you expect it to be free. Why don't you see someone else"!!! I left the office. When I called to speak to Dr. Wong, he would not take my call, and I was told he would not see. My primary care Doctor called him, so I was allowed to see him but I was told for only 20minutes. I did see him. He told me he would not help me. I asked him for my money back and he said,"See an attorney". Mrs. Wong shouted in a very loud masculine voice that my 20 minutes was up, she shouted this twice. I left. I've seen 3 doctors locally and they all said go back to Dr. Wong for him to fix his mistakes. I've seen 3 doctors in the mainland and they all agreed that his technique of putting fat into my neck, has make my situation worse. That the fat would turn into scar tissue and cause more damage. Presently, I have done nothing, because I am scared to death to have liposuction in my face, and yet I really hate how I look and feel This has been very traumatizing and caused me loss of sleep and depression in addition to pain and suffering. I am literally sick to my stomach. I don't think he cares at all, about what he has done to me. He talks about Karma!!! read more

For most of the time I worked with Dr. Wong, he and his staff were very personable. I had had a major weight loss years before and my cheeks were sunken in because of it. Dr. Wong assured me that he could help. After two fat transfers and then some sort of a loop in my temple area, nothing had changed. Dr. Wong was so helpful, thorough, knowledgeable and caring throughout the process of consultation, the procedure and the aftercare. The results are spectacular and have motivated me to improve myself both inside and outside. I chose to get a tummy tuck after having 2 children and losing the "baby weight" but still looking pregnant due to the extra skin, separation of the abdominal muscles, and an umbilical hernia. A very happy and satisfied customer I am. Dr. Wong performed 3 different procedures. Asian double eyelids, bags under the eyes and breast augmentation. Loved all 3 results. I did not find anything bad at all. He has been on the cover of "The Best Doctors of Honolulu", and has dozens of awards! I booked an appointment with him for Botox, which he administered perfectly, and then booked an appt., for a lower eyelid tuck, which was painless, no bruising and I look so much younger!! I love his work!!! I have seen some of his other patients after their procedures, and that really sold me and to go see this amazing surgeon! I came across Dr. Wong's website after searching for plastic surgery offices nearby on google map. His office caught my attention the most at the time because of all the great reviews. At the time I had stretched ear lobes from gauges I used to have and I needed them closed for the military. They used to be 1/2"( 12.7mm ) but shrunk down to size 2ga ( 6.54mm ) and stayed at that size for 3 years. Therefore I called in and made an appointment with Dr. Wong to see what he'd say about my ears. He took a look at them and was very honest and professional about the whole procedure. He went over the whole process of what he'd have to do to close them to the whole recovery process after the procedure. After a week from surgery I went back and had my stitches removed. Two years ago I noticed a small bump on my left eyelid. I didn't think much of it until it began to grow. My closest friends noticed it and were worried for me. After much research I found that I had a Chalazion that was caused by a blocked duct. It's been almost a year since I had breast augmentation done with Dr. Wong. Dr. Randy Wong performed a mini lower facelift on me two months ago. This was my second lower facelift with the first one done 10 years ago on the mainland.
