LOCATION: His office is located on the 9th floor (you can always call their office for their address if you don't trust the maps app on your iPhone lol) Park on any floor that is convenient for you and use the elevator to go the ground floor, then you'll have to walk into the lobby, you'll see another set of elevators take that and go to the 9th floor, and you'll see signs for his office which is 999. CONSULTATION: I had a consultation with Dr. Phan and as like anyone else i was pretty nervous, i had watched all the youtube, TikTok videos i could find for breast aug and it didn't seem like enough. Dr. Phan is amazing at going through every detail and knowing what will suit YOUR body and what i liked most about him was he cares more of what looks BEST for YOUR body. If you haven't don't much research he is more than willing to answer your questions and he will work with you to find a good solution, one that you will also be happy with. He will also do the best and the most he can for you in the safest way possible. That was the moment i knew i was at the right place. SURGERY DAY: Prior to surgery day they will give you a packet basically telling you what need to do to prep yourself for surgery. When you arrive you need to the basics, take a pregnancy test, undress into the gown they give you. The nurse i totally forgot her name i was so anxious that morning lol, but she sets you up with an IV then you wait for doc to mark you up and after that you're into the OP room! After surgery, i honestly did not feel any pain once i got home i assumed there would be blood. LET ME TELL YOU, THERE WAS NOOOO DROP OF BLOOD, none! STAFF: Amber his receptionist is the sweetest! Always answers with a polite tone, always greets you at the door with a smile and a warm hello! Grace also so sweet and amazing, other receptionists need to take notes because they were so amazing i didn't have to dread walking into their office or just calling them because they were always so nice and you just always feel comfortable. POST-OP APPOINTMENTS: The amount of post-op appointments was so reassuring because he really wants to make sure that you are healing well and correctly. If you have any questions or concerns he will always go over things every appointment just so you are aware, and that you understand. OVERALL: I 1000% recommend Dr.Phan he is truly amazing , i read a review where he came off as rude, arrogant, Despite that review i came in for a consult and wanted to just see what it was like for myself, in actuality he is honest, genuine, and most importantly he wants what is best for the patient and he wants to achieve the patients goals in a safe manner, while meeting expectations! Dr. Phan did my tummy tuck surgery. I have the thinnest scar and recovery wasn't bad at all. While my healing is only 5 weeks out, I already see a lot of my desired results, even with my (minimal) swelling. Dr. Phan is fantastic at his craft, but his staff also deserves credit. They were great from reception to surgery day. Amber is lovely, the nurse was great, the anesthesia provider was amazing and put me at ease and made me laugh before going under, and Dr. Phan didn't really under promise but certainly over delivered. I have one small spot that may need a small revision (a really small dog ear, maybe) IF it doesn't just go flat and heal in the next 6 months, but I'm confident Dr. Phan will fix something if it needs it and I also know it's a very common occurrence after surgery and a quick fix. If I could afford to do my breasts, Dr. Phan would definitely be the plastic surgeon I'd choose. Hands down a better experience than I even could have asked for. Hahaha, so I'm actually a little embarrassed that I'm writing a review here...but no, it's not what you think, I didn't get plastic surgery! And the Asian in me normally wouldn't want anyone to know I get stuff like this done, but I MUST give a shout-out to this awesome place! I purchased a Groupon about a year ago for three laser hair removal treatments (I bought two Groupons), which I used on my underarms. BEST PURCHASE EVER! Preceding my first appointment, I was talking to some friends who I knew had some treatments done. I heard horror stories about how some had their skin burned, how it was super red/itchy/scabby for a few days afterwards, and how the procedure hurt! Despite their warnings, I had an amazing experience! I was a little red after the procedure, but I was assured it was normal. For precaution, I purchased their green tea antioxidant moisturizing lotion, which is supposed to help with the swelling/redness. It was pricy, at $65, and actually I found out that I didn't really need it (maybe my skin recovers better than usual? hallelujah, cuz I'm a wuss to pain), but to be safe, it was a good purchase because I actually think it works. Also makes my skin feel cool afterwards. But NO scabs, the redness was gone within hours of getting the treatment, and it wasn't really that itchy either. I am sooooo appalled at what a great recovery time I had! And I really believe it was because the staff is very well-trained and super knowledgeable at giving the treatments, and that the equipment they use is top-rate! 7 treatments in (2 Groupons + 1 holiday special for a touch-up maintenance), I am loving my underarms! I only have a few thin hairs, so much of an improvement to my underarms pre-treatments, and I only shave every couple weeks (maybe less than I should), but NO dark shadow, NO ingrown hairs, and super smooth, clean skin! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend here if you ever consider laser hair removal! They're the best in the business! read more

I had a great experience here, with a procedure that has the potential to be very uncomfortable in more ways than one! I got a Groupon for 3 laser hair removal treatments for my underarms and bikini line. I had been to another place previously that used a different kind of laser and became so painful I had to buy and use their numbing cream before hand. I figured I was in for some more pain, but was determined to see this thing through to the end! Yuko was very professional during my procedures and assured me that the laser they used was more advanced and efficient and would not cause the same kind of pain. So true! Of course, it was still mildly uncomfortable at times but totally bearable, and fast! I was in and out in 20-30 minutes and everyone there is SO friendly and personable, that all in all it was a really great experience. (And I had no problem redeeming my Groupon on my phone, btw) As for the effectiveness... these weren't my first set of treatments, but I saw pretty dramatic hair reduction. Before my 3rd treatment here, my hair growth was down to 10% or less of what it was before I started. I suspect regrowth after this last one will be very minimal! And as a bonus, I learned that since I purchased the Groupon, I could get similar rates if I decided I still needed a few more treatments in either area! Even if I don't need to go back for more treatments, I will definitely be recommending them to my friends, and I'm considering some of their other services as an additional treat for myself. I'm glad my wife and I followed through with our referral to see Dr Bao Phan. After the initial consultation we knew we came to the right place. Dr not only made it a comfortable atmosphere but reassured us that we are in good hands. Dr Phan is very passionate about what he does and my wife's procedure is a prime example of it. I purchased the groupon deal with the 3 sessions of underarm hair reduction. They recommended at least a 6 series treatment for optimum results, so they sold me a post groupon deal of an additional 3 series of underarm treatment. I'm glad I bought it because it was at a discounted price. My hair was very course and I already saw improvements after the first treatment. The hairs shriveled up and gets so loose from the root that I was able to pull most of them out with my fingers!...tmi Anyways, the light pulses felt like a bunch of needles quickly poking the surface of my skin (a little shocking, but tolerable...they do about 10 pulses on each underarm, but I guess it depends on how big the surface area is to determine how many pulses you receive) The treatment room was a bit on the cold side, but you can request a sheet. They prep the area with some kind of antibacterial wipe and apply a cream/lotion after the session. My skin was a bit sensitive after the second treatment, but not painful. They also sold me some ceramide cream to use every day at home for soothing/recovery. It's been a year since my first treatment of 6 and I am overall happy with the results. The hair still grows back, but fewer and very fine hairs. I usually wax the areas every other month for maintenance. I could wax more often, but I always wear sleeves, so I don't really notice it. Dr. Phan is an extremely caring and compassionate surgeon. I went in to his practice for a consult for my deep-set forehead lines and other fine wrinkles on my face. I had previously had Botox on multiple occasions from other plastic surgeons. I was never really happy with the results Botox provided. While Botox did help diminish the wrinkles, the inability to move my forehead and raise my eyebrows gave me headaches. Dr. Phan took the time to explain the differences between Botox and Restylane and how I was a better candidate for Restalyne fillers. No other surgeons had taken that time. Dr. Phan also explained the advantages to a Pixal laser treatment. I decided to get the Restylane filler in my forehead and checks and to get a Pixal laser treatment. One week later I could not be happier. The deep-set wrinkle on my forehead is barely noticeable, and the results of the Pixal laser are fantastic. My pore size has shrunk, my skin is less oily, and the overall complexion of my skin is smoother. So, I normally don't do reviews, only read them, but this place didn't have any. I purchased the groupon for $99 you get $250 credit towards pulsed light hair reduction treatment. My appointment was at 1:30, I showed up at 1:15 to do my paperwork. The receptionist told me they were running late. (I'm assuming it had something to do with the groupon rush). I ended up waiting for 30 minutes before I was seen (hence only 4 stars). When I finally saw the doctor, he was really friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions, and despite them being behind schedule, I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr. Mirzai was very professional and despite the fact that I was getting lazered on my bikini area, he made me feel very comfortable. As always, I could depend on Dr. Phan to correct any issues I was facing. I developed a lump on my chin that seemed to be slowly growing in the past year. I visited to what I believe is the best dermatologist in Honolulu but like everyone else I was told to cut and remove it would leave an incision mark (scar). Dr. Phan used a procedure that prevented any scar tissue, just a painless needle was used. I no longer have to use touch-up make-up to hide that ugly lump. As usual, Dr. Phan always makes me feel comfortable and welcomed there. His staff are like close friends now, no matter how busy they are they always stop to talk to me even when I try my best to avoid bothering them. read more

I bought the Groupon for the "one Full-face Pixel Fractional resurfacing." It's supposed to be an $800 value, sold for $360. It was a complete and utter waste of $360. Thank god I didn't pay full price. I did several hours of research on this procedure before I bought the Groupon, and let me tell you... this was a complete joke. The technician did not take much time, compared to everything I've seen on YouTube and other plastic surgery sites using the same, specific machine HI Plastic Surgery Assoc. advertised. Not only that, the tech told me I needed to buy a special cream for $19, only to get home and see that it's basically vaseline. Oh, and as I was checking out (or attempting to) they would not accept the Groupon from my phone (standard procedure for them, but they don't tell you that ahead of time) and then she wants to log onto my email from her computer, only sliding me the keyboard to put in my password, but not letting me see the screen until I asked a second time. I'm not too cool with the potentially dangerous ramifications of someone having access to my email and sensitive information, especially since most computers offer the option to save the password nowadays. Shady, Shady, I tell you. The icing on the cake was she then tacked on another $36 for the "tax". Throw in a tip, and BAM, you've gotten yourself robbed. After very, very minimal flaking (it was supposed to be like a bad sunburn with more peeling) I noticed absolutely no difference. Nada, nothing, nichte. I took a picture on my phone at 10am the morning before, and then another two weeks later at the same time and same place (my bathrrom) in order to have the same lighting. Nothing had changed. This procedure was honestly not even worth $36 that I paid in tax alone. One more thing... this tech is not very educated, or she is only out for the money. As two dermatologists have told me, there are two types of melasma. No procedures should be done until they used a "Woods" lamp to determine which type the patient has, because, and this is very important, Pixel treatments can make it worse. I'm still dealing with the scarring and it's been over a month! I have been getting hair removal for awhile at other locations and due to my moving I needed a local location. I decided to come here and this is the worst office and staff ! Also , their so called deals they have with "groupon " is basically the same pricing listed each session just in a package deal so your not really saving anything just a marketing scam. I purchased my first three sessions on groupon and bought the additional sessions when they had a xmas special last year. I can't believe i no longer have to shave. Tummy Tuck Success I generally can't stand doctors, as they tend to be arrogant jerks. Dr Phan is the exception. After conducting extensive research, both online and in person, I decided on Dr Phan & flew over to Honolulu for a tummy tuck. I have an athletic build but 3 pregnancies, multiple abdominal surgeries, and 52 years of hardship have taken their toll. Dr Phan has a private operating room, which is next to his office in a futuristic new medical building with a spectacular view. I found that not only does he have superior surgical knowledge & skills, but he also possesses a genuinely caring disposition. I'm a difficult patient yet he took the time to answer and explain the 'hows' and 'whys' of my many pesky questions. This is the first time I write a review, I also dont usually write, just read, but I thought I needed to tell you guys about this one. So I used my Groupon for 3 laser hair removals and it didn't work at all because how the treatment was performed at this place . I got there and I didn't shave ahead of time because I wanted the aesthetician to see my hair first, but I knew the shaving had to be done. She told me to lie down, told me I didn't need to shave, pass the machine one time on my upper lip and said: "it's done"! She didnt take any time to tell me anything, pre procedure, post, what she was going to do, nothing, no talk, just me trying to get answers from her and she answering me in monosyllables. Honestly no exaggeration, I was with the aesthetician in the room for no longer than 3 minutes. I didn't feel anything was done, didnt feel zapping, tangling, nothing... it was the quicker $50 a minute treatment I had done. I had laser treatment before I know how it feels and that felt like nothing happened. So, I went to ask her to zapp this one hair that grows on my chin, and she said no, it is considered a different area. I was not asking to do my whole chin, it was one hair that considering less than 1 minute she spent doing my lip, it would've taken her extra 10 seconds. Obviously it didn't work at all, so next time I came back , still no instructions from her whatsoever, I shaved and she used a different machine, this time I felt the zapping, and the smell of burning hair, but there was again no communication from her. LAst time I asked for the doctor to do it, who although was better than the Yuko lady, had no idea on how to use the machine well and didn't give me the time of the day. Two thumbs down for this place, the staff, the equipment. And the price, it costs me $50 for each treatment for the upper lip, as oppose to $75 anywhere else. I rather pay $75 and get it done right. So I went to the Hon Med Spa, the lady who performed my laser was extremely attentive, asked me a lot of questions, gave me a lot of information, took her time to pass the machine a few times on my lip, put a cream on before and afterwards and sunscreen, so I ended up buying a package there, which they give you a discount if you buy the 6 treatments. read more

I had the Ultherapy done six months ago. To my disappointment there was NO sign of improvement at all. It was $4,000 down the drain. Would not recommend it at all. I read up on the Ultherapy procedure prior to having it done so had some knowledge of what to expect. Others mentioned tightening in three months which Dr Mirzai confirmed but I had none of that feeling or results. It didn't hurt at all so am wondering if he used enough strength. All in all it was a oral waste. Also, need to check expiration dates on products, I found some of the items I purchased were past due. When I brought this up, he said it was still good. I purchased the laser hair removal voucher from groupon and then upgraded it to a full six treatments for the brazillian area. I am very happy with the attention and care I have been given by Yoku. She is so friendly and I look forward to my appointments with her. At first I felt uncomfortable with the pain but she made sure that I was okay and put extra cooling gel on the area. I have had four treatments now and have a dramatic, lasting reduction in hair growth in that area and am very pleased with the results. When I am done with this area I am considering to have my legs and underarms done as well. It is definitely worth it! My appointments only last around 15 minutes, I have never had to wait over five - ten minutes for an appointment, and they are open on SATURDAY, which I LOVE because I work during the week and it would be inconvenient to have to find time for appointments during work hours. I am not sure if other places like this are open on Saturdays so this has definitely been a plus. I got revision surgery here, to fix a previous botched surgery that was done overseas. I couldn't be happier with my result! It was so hard to find a doctor here on the island that specialized in specific revisions. After extensive research and contacting previous patients, I ended up consulting with Dr. Bao Phan. Not only did he meet the medical credentials I was looking for, but his office was immaculate (I'm a germaphobe) and his equipment is state of the art! I also liked that fact that he was so knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I chose Dr. Phan to do my breast augmentation with Allergan 410 "gummy bear" implants a few months ago. The decision was one I took seriously, researching all board certified plastic surgeons on Oahu and consulting with several. Two things were key in selecting Dr. Phan over other surgeons: first, the amount of time spent with his patients. During our initial consult, we discussed a wide range of topics including background, pros and cons of different implants/incisions/aftercare techniques, FDA recommendations, complications, etc. I had a lot of questions and Dr. Phan not only provided answers, but explained his reasoning in depth. He invited me to come back for a second consult so I could bring my husband and gave us a tour of the immaculate operating room. On a similar note, I found assurance in Dr. Phan's emphasis on doing meticulous work, even if it requires more time. During my initial examination he took the most careful, thorough measurements of any of the surgeons by far and talked with me about how small anatomical details might play into my surgical outcome. I was never charged for any consults or follow ups. The other thing that set Dr. Phan apart was his attention to long term health. He wants patients to be complication free and happy with the results right away, but also a year from now, five years from now and so on. He was the only doctor who addressed the "big picture" so to speak. All in all, I felt well prepared and knowledgable going into surgery with Dr. Phan.
