This is the second time I called Jeff from Honolulu Tree Service and it confirmed why we are a repeat customer. He came out to our Kalama Valley home on his own time and gave a very fair quote for the job. (Trimming a tree that was growing out of control in our back yard). I also asked him about removing a dead Juniper Pine in our front courtyard, including using a stump grinder to remove the trunk at least four inches below grade. His quote for this second part was very reasonable. Jeff and Matt came early and did a great job for both parts (tree trimming and tree removal). He responded right away and came out to give us an estimate on trimming our massive pirie mango tree after a very fruitful season. He was prompt, professional and even offered to include in our Service the elimination of the kukui tree branches that were overhanging onto our property from the street. The following week he even reached out to push our appointment a day earlier. I recently used Jeff and his crew cut back a huge 50 plus foot Kiawe to its main trunk and a more manageable size that I could maintain myself. I shopped around and got 8 estimates with a wild range on costs. Jeff ended up being the lowest bid of all the estimates but he also seemed to be the most thorough on his evaluation. He really took the time to walk around the tree and analyze the complexity of cutting since the tree was in a tight back yard with part of the tree overhanging my neighbors roof and adjacent property. Small job. Double papaya trees that had gotten too tall and leaning over into the neighbor's yard. Quick, neat and friendly. Had estimated it would take about an hour. Ended up taking 1/2 hour. Jeff did an excellent job of trimming several tees on our property. The trees varied in size from ten feet to about twenty feet. Jeff himself did all the cutting and had an assistant to help with the cleanup. He was very careful and reviewed our specifications before he started. Jeff and his team were great to work with from start to finish. During the initial consultation, he elicited what purpose we wanted out of our trees and devised a thoughtful proposal on how to trim and shape them to achieve our goals. Came out promptly a week later to do the job. We had several very tall trees that were intruding over neighboring properties, and one had many fallen dead branches and debris stuck in its canopy. His team did a fantastic job trimming back the trees and cleaning up the unsightly/unhealthy parts. They were very careful to avoid damaging the flowers and young plants that were in the path they took to remove the cuttings. Despite rain and wind, they still finished the job as planned in 2 days. They ground the cuttings into wood chips and hauled it all away, leaving behind a very clean yard with neat and healthy trees. We engaged Jeff and his team to trim our much overgrown mango tree and to remove a bottle brush tree. Jeff was knowledgable and clearly enjoys what he does.
