Sylvan Tutoring Center is the worst tutoring center among the four I have enrolled my two kids in…read morefor past 6 years. Sylvan has the worst make-up policy and is overpriced. I thought I paid for one-hour lesson, but the teachers end the lesson 15 minutes earlier than the lesson schedule. The 15 minutes time period is the waiting time for students to get picked up. Sylvan also forfeit your lesson if you missed a lesson. that means they will charge you for the lesson your kid didn't attend. we as parents, already are stressed so much for our daily expenses, but when our kids need help on their homework and school assignments, we send our kids to tutoring. One of my younger kid's parent persuaded me to enroll my kid in Sylvan because she could get some referral lessons once I enrolled. We got the 500 hours package because the price is a bit less than regular price. There are regularly 2-4 kids per 45 minutes lesson. My kid don't get much actual help in one lesson because she needs to share lesson time with other kids. We still have some purchased lessons. I won't renew after all purchased lessons are used for sure and definitely won't refer any of my friends to Sylvan. Sylvan entices students for a prize or gift to ask their parents to write good reviews on the internet.

Thank you to the Tutor Doctor for helping me, a self-described math cripple to understand algebra!…read moreI sought out professional help in my math class because the help I was getting from so-called math whiz friends just wasn't helping me learn. Working with the teacher from the Tutor Doctor made all the difference. In just a few weeks of two session per week, I have gone from feeling hopeless and utterly confused to a level of understanding in my course work I feared I would never reach. I will be taking upper Algebra and Chemistry next semester and will be counting on the Tutor Doctor to help me achieve the same results in those classes. Sincerely, Sandra

When I found the Tutor Dr I was very pleased when they came to my house for a free consultation. It was so very helpful to me and my family. My son is having a hard time with school and my husband and I were told he had a learning disability. Turns out he just needed to focus more and deal with his lazy eye. Now that we know that the tutor they found for him was perfect. My son loves his tutor and works very well with him. My son does'nt just like everyone so that says a lot. He has improved in reading and understanding what he is readin., He has also slowed down to focus more as well as not ashamed to wear his eye patch in front of his tutor. I cannot thank you guys enough. I look forward in him improving more so he feels better at school and with completing his homework.

I highly recommend Eugene for voice coaching, public speaking, and accent reduction…read more I sought Eugene's guidance in improving my voice clarity and reduce my accent. I worked with Eugene in two different time frames over three years. Eugene started of by doing an in-person assessment and identified a set of four to five areas I should work on. Over three in-person trainings we systematically worked on each of those areas with ample individual training at home. He provided great email support in between the in-person sessions. As he observed my progress, Eugene refined some of the focus areas to make it more effective for me. I made a lot of improvement and my colleagues and clients were pleasantly surprised with my progress. I am going through a refresher course with Eugene now after three years to advance my skills and gain back the edge on a few areas where lack of practice has started to show.

We have been thrilled with the work that Eugene has been doing. Eugene has tailored a package of 1-1 sessions with each of these guys and their speech and delivery in English is coming along in leaps and bounds. We do these sessions by web conferencing so there is no additional travel or phone overhead. Eugene has also been adding a lot of value by reviewing our demo scripts and marking them up to help my French colleagues have accurate and convincing intonation. In just a couple of months we have seen a marked improvement and I am excited to see the team's confidence in English flourish. Eugene is a true professional and a pleasure to work with.

The impact Scott had on my son went well beyond college essay preparation/production. Pre-Scott, my son could barely write a coherent sentence and through the magic of Scott's teaching methodology and in a relatively short timeframe, the improvement was dramatic. The counsel, candid discussions, and direction Scott provided paid huge dividends in the classroom and in daily written communication (emails, texts). My son became a more confident writer and student which of course, carried over to everyday life. As he heads-off to college in the fall (UCLA), I'm forever grateful to Scott for the life-changing role he played in preparing my son for the next chapter and beyond.

**Scott is the BRILLIANT STUDENT WHISPERER!!** We first sought his services years ago, when my son…read moreneeded to improve his scores for admissions applications to independent high schools. Fortunately, my son is quite bright--but he suffers from ADHD and lack of self confidence. Scott immediately bonded with him--he's pretty amazing in his talent for putting kids at ease and finding their strengths--and he set up a super effective study and skills-building test prep schedule for my son. Scott also gave him super smart inside knowledge on how to pace himself, with strategies for both answering multiple choice questions as well as managing testing time constraints. My son improved his scores by 50%!! And my son thinks of Scott as a true friend and mentor, as well--trusting his judgment and sage advice completely. Fast forward, my son is now applying for colleges and that lack of self-confidence has returned. On top of that, he's super stressed out and depressed about the whole process and his ability to get into the colleges he'd aspired to get into, even though his grades and test scores should admit him into some pretty good schools. Again, Scott to the rescue. He helped my son really think deeply and analyze what he wanted out of a college and his future. And Scott knows SOOOOO much about *all* the different colleges and their academic environments, teaching atmospheres, stress levels, and the kinds of students who might succeed there--he is able to give great advice about what might be the best fit for someone, based on their personality and abilities. Scott was able to get my son to step outside of himself and his insecurities, and come up with a plan for his future that he feels confident about pursuing--most of all, a college plan with options that my son truly believes will make him happy. We can't say enough wonderful things about Scott except that we feel blessed and lucky to have him in our lives. THANK YOU, SCOTT!!
