Love the vibe of this place and their array of cocktails they offer. My hubs got the Wolf of Wall Street and I got the Winter at Normandy. Both drinks were excellent. The place has a speak easy vibe to it. Lots of Lounge seating and great for groups. Service was fast and friendly. Great vibes overall and would come back with a group.

Absolutely one of my FAVORITE spots to grab drinks in Aspen! We stopped in at about 6pm on a Wednesday -- it was as dead as a door nail but the conversation with the bartender and the ambiance made it such a cool experience. I can imagine when it's busier, it's probably SUCH a cool vibe to rub shoulders with the people who would pop in here. The vibe is immaculate!!! Love all of the unique wall art, the velvet seats, and the chandeliers hanging everywhere. It's at basement level, so even during the day it feels dark and moody in the bar. It's actually a huge spot! So plenty of different seating options for individuals, dates or groups! Brendan was bartending at the time and he was lovely!!! Great conversation and even better cocktails. I tried out the Wolf of Wall Street (amazingggg). My friend with me doesn't drink alcohol, and they have a great selection of mocktails with real N/A alcohol. I can't wait to come back next month when I'm visiting Aspen again

Wonderful cocktail - had too many and can't remember the name. :-(

My star rating: * Totally avoid. Why are you even open? ** Avoid unless the last restaurant on earth. *** Several important misses. Not recommended. **** Very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. ***** Hits every mark of perfection. Anyone who goes to Aspen must go to Hooch!! PROS Friendly, attentive staff (especially the owner, Pat) Amazing, high-quality cocktails Cozy, eclectic atmosphere Good tunes and at a level you can still have a conversation Downstairs venue CONS -none-

Super unique and delicious bar in aspen that's a must visit! We had the quiet town in Tokyo, kung fu Kenny, spread your legs, and sexy weekend. The quiet town in Tokyo was my favorite and was super creamy and delicious and if you love Asian herbal flavors and gin you'll love this one. The spread your legs was a spicy marg that had a strong cucumber and cilantro flavor which could be too much for some people. The foam on top was cool. I also tried the kung fu Kenny and the sexy weekends. The king fu Kenny was so good too and was a good whiskey cocktail. The sexy weekend was a really unique cocktail and I'd never had anything like it before. All the drinks we had were great and the bartenders were so nice and friendly. Drinks are pricey but normal for aspen standards. Highly recommend this amazing bar!

Absolutely worth the stop when in Aspen! Amazingly curated menu with well-balanced cocktails that - wait for it - aren't crazy overpriced in a town where everything is overpriced for no good reason. Fantastic ambiance for a couple or a group and a bomb playlist to boot! Go early and you have the bartender's attention and can chat up suggestions but dang, the menu is as tight as we've seen in the fantastic speakeasies we've been. Go, imbibe, and tip those bartenders well!

    Maybe: Notorious F.I.G. - Incredible!

Love this subterranean bar. It's dark, it's great looking and yes, cocktails are craft. Although most restaurants in Aspen have great and innovative cocktails, there isn't a dedicated bar for them... except for Hooch. They take drinks seriously here. I believe we had The Wolf of Wall Street and a Notorious F.I.G., an incredible tiki cocktail. Bartenders are chill, friendly and thoughtful. The only thing I would change, is I'd call the bar just Hooch. You wouldn't call your hotel "boutique hotel" or Foodie Restaurant, right? It would be even cooler if they dropped the "Craft"! Hooch is a must-visit spot in Aspen!

Hooch was a unanimous recommendation from service industry locals who actually live in Aspen. With a quick cross-check on Yelp, we knew we were in for a treat. Vibes, vibes, vibes. Entering the bar, you walk down a flight of stairs and turn right. You're met with an attentive hostess (who took our orders and ran our cocktails, give her a raise!) and a lowly lit room. The bar is meticulously organized, requiring a ladder to reach the top shelf selection. Chandeliers, small tables, couches, community tables, thrifted art, banging tunes. It's a Vibe with a capital V. Reminds me of one of my favorite bars in Dublin. Ambiance is one thing, but do the cocktails live up to the hype? Even when priced at $20? (You've been warned in advance) Yes, the cocktails are great and worth the Aspen prices. Could they be a few bucks less? Yeah, sure. Like I said, you get what you pay for. Chronic Tonic // Jin Jiji Gin, House Made Turmeric Ginger Syrup, Jack Rudy Tonic Syrup, Lemon, Strongwater CBD Bitters, Soda Water. Qbroni // House Infused Coffee Rum, Campari, Antica Torino Vermouth, Amaro Cio Caro. One thing I really love was the descriptive menu. Not just listing the ingredients and calling it quits. Each drink had a corresponding picture of what the cocktail looks like, I dig when bars go the extra mile in this fashion. Also, they gave their own mini description of the cocktail in layman's terms. Which are a pretty witty and persuasive read. You can tell they have a sense of humor while also maintaining professional practices and standards. Escape the stereotypical Aspen scene by walking down to the Hooch basement. It's quite the trip.

Hooch you're absolutely dangerous and toxic, which is why I can't wait to come back! This speakeasy is perfection and my inner prohibition spirit loved the entryway location, the fact it's actually in the basement, and it's true homage to the concept. They offer a few small bites and a limited food menu; however, I was thinking alcohol. Once I found out they did tableside drinks, I WAS SOLD. My boyfriend learned a different side of me on both trips we made to Hooch in 48 hours. If you have a solid whiskey collection and you have Fernet Branca, you will see my lush hipster persona come out in full force. The dark ambiance, no flash allowed environment calls for a romantic spot or a place for you and your table to genuinely catch up. I had night vision on my phone luckily to give y'all a sneak peek. If you're visiting Aspen then Hooch must be on your list!

Amazing atmosphere, service was phenomenal We were greeted instantly as soon as we walked in who turned out to be one of the owners We sat at the bar and order sexy weekend and a custom cocktail made off menu which were both super amazing One of the best drinks we ever had , if you are in Aspen definitely come check this place out even if it's for one drink . You won't be sorry

Best cocktails ever!! Has such an eclectic menu to choose from, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Not a standup bar, but more of a lounge. Would be good with parents. Walked in on a Saturday night around 6:30 and were seated at the bar after 15 minutes. Bartenders are friendly & quick. Ambiance is adorable. Would recommend making a reservation if going with a larger party to ensure you're seated fast & get your own cozy couch area. Spread your legs was our favorite cocktail, their espresso martini had a bit of a kick to it, and the cacio e Pepe dirty martini was delicious and unique.

The Last Rose of Oaxaca and Down and Dirty, yum!

A must stop for your pre-dinner local dinner. What a gem that we've found! From the glamorous chandeliers to the fully stocked bar and an amazing bartender, this place was so chilled and relaxed. The two of us stopped by thinking we'll get a drink before heading to dinner, jokes cause we left after THREE drinks each! And got to try their amazing spinach artichoke dip, a great pairing to the drinks. These are the ones we've tried and honestly, you should try them all too.. The Last Rose of Oaxaca - for mezcal lovers Down and dirty - great martini! Chronic Tonic - in house made turmeric and ginger syrup, say no more! Our FAVORITE - the mezcolada (ordered a second!) - a lightly creamy coconut, not too sweet! Kind of like the dessert drink to finish off your cocktails meal. You know the drinks are great when you sip the drink and that silent nod follows and go 'there's definitely enough alcohol in there but you can't really taste it.' Ahhh I think I've said enough, now do yourself a favor and make your way to Hooch!

This place was on my list from Yelp and then I went out for dinner and asked my server what he would recommend for a cocktail and he said this place as well. Such a cool space. Lots of comfy seating in a dark atmosphere. The drinks were good and our server brought me a great drink based on how I described what I liked.

We visited this fun cocktail bar on our trip to Aspen and it definitely lived up to expectations! We enjoyed the drinks: Bandito, The Scholar (with fire) and my fav, Old Money. Really eclectic decor with bras hanging from the chandeliers and very friendly bartenders.

    Hooch. Sit outside. Trust me.

I came with my flight crew (just a couple of pilots in addition) and we just sat at the bar. I had the kale rotisserie chicken salad. The peanut dressing does have soy sauce so it is not gluten free, so they brought me a champagne vinaigrette instead. It was delicious. I got this during the cyclospora outbreak, because I'm a wild person now lol but they assured me they only get quality ingredients and super clean all veggies and fruit coming in. They are pet friendly and have outdoor seating! Servers were very friendly although the serving can take a bit longer, depending on how busy they are. The French Dip came with lots of prime rib and a cup of Au jus, with horseradish to cut down on the heaviness. Crispy chicken sandwich was my favorite! It came sliced in three so the portion was massive. The chicken had more of a Japanese katsu style breading on it so it was super crispy. The burger was also a solid choice. Great bun to filling ratio and the spicy slaw was a complemented the burger well. The fries were pricey and I didn't realize that they weren't a side but an appetizer, but these fries were super crispy and delicious. You could tell that they were fried freshly on the spot. The creamy sauce it came with paired well with them! Deviled eggs were savory and had a kick from the pickle relish. This was my first time eating creamed corn and I liked it! It was warm and creamy, with a slight kick from the jalapeño slices.

So glad we did. On our last night in town, we had reservations at a restaurant down the street and came here for a pre-meal beverage. Upon entering the Hyatt, a see-through fireplace to the left serves as your initial glimpse into the tasting room. Coming from the traditional mountain chic of the hotel, the Marble Bar's decor is strikingly different, with its HGTV clean lines / grey / white modern aesthetic. Yet it still manages to be wonderfully cozy with multiple small group sitting areas, complete with fur throws and the aforementioned wood burning fireplaces, as well as bar seating if that's more your thing. There is also an outdoor fire pit that looked tempting, but it was snowing pretty heavily, and we said another time. The place was quiet with only 2 other patrons when we first arrived, but after about 30 mins it was quite lively. The mixologist (not to sound pretentious, but 'bartender' just doesn't do her justice) was amazing. I'm so sorry I can't remember her name, but if I say Boston then it should be obvious who I'm referring to. She was a great conversationalist, excellent cocktail fabricator, and really helped get our evening off to a perfect start. We would have stayed longer if it weren't for those reservations. Again we were trying to be mindful and too nice but I think we just went too far for being too nice. I then ordered the other pizza and it was honestly quite mediocre. The waiter was really nice and that's why I'm giving it 1 star otherwise it would be zero for us. They weren't even willing to provide salad. Come on! You can't even make salad in your kitchen? That was just ridiculous. And believe it or not, we had amazing food in every other restaurant we tried in Aspen so this was certainly a one off. My suggestion to the management team is to be honest about your the last call from your kitchen. If you close at 10pm and your kitchen runs till 9pm, you ought to be able to take orders till 9pm.
