The peanut dressing does have soy sauce so it is not gluten free, so they brought me a champagne vinaigrette instead. It was delicious. I got this during the cyclospora outbreak, because I'm a wild person now lol but they assured me they only get quality ingredients and super clean all veggies and fruit coming in. I liked the open bar and open kitchen style. While it does require a wait because they don't take reservations, you can always call ahead to see how long their wait time is. They are pet friendly and have outdoor seating! Servers were very friendly although the serving can take a bit longer, depending on how busy they are. The French Dip came with lots of prime rib and a cup of Au jus, with horseradish to cut down on the heaviness. Crispy chicken sandwich was my favorite! It came sliced in three so the portion was massive. The chicken had more of a Japanese katsu style breading on it so it was super crispy. The burger was also a solid choice. Great bun to filling ratio and the spicy slaw was a complemented the burger well. The fries were pricey and I didn't realize that they weren't a side but an appetizer, but these fries were super crispy and delicious. You could tell that they were fried freshly on the spot. This place was very highly recommended amongst all of our friends and relatives that live around Aspen, so we had high hopes. The service was wonderful, we got our food very quickly, and the ambiance was adorable. A little loud but nothing too crazy. The food itself was fine. We ordered the duo dip, French fries, the French dip, and the chicken sandwich. The guac and the other dip were really good and we loved the chips too. The fries are pretty much what you'd expect, except once they got to room temperature they became super hard and not very edible. My husband said the French dip meat was good and tender, pretty good flavor overall. I had the chicken sandwich which was huge! They split the sandwich into three wedges and I could only finish two. I liked the texture of the chicken was nice and I liked the slaw on it, however, the flavor overall was kind of lacking. I would say it was a bit overhyped. Ambiance is good. Food we had was actually very good. Service was great. Problem is, the day we visited, there was an hour wait. No problem. Had a beverage. Waited it out. Got to our table. Took our drink orders. Delivered our drinks. Asked for our orders. THEN they told us that one of their signature items, the item we were actually there for, was not available that day because their flattop was not working. I've had plenty of experiences where a restaurant was either out of something, unable to prepare something, or an order didn't come in, and almost always they tell you either when you arrive for your reservation, or put your name on the list, or at the very least, when you sit down at your table. The portion is also very healthy so I had had leftovers for lunch the next day. The kale salad has a little kick to it which I loved. The food is overpriced as expected as it is Aspen, but I did expect higher quality. We were shocked when we ordered the deviled eggs and only got 3 halves, it felt a little silly to not get 2 full eggs. I also ordered a coke and I got a half size but paid normal price. I'll be honest, I was disappointed when I realized the top rated restaurant in Aspen is right down the street from me already in Beverly Hills under the name Honor Bar. Being from LA, the hillstone collection of restaurants from Honor Bar to Houston's have always been a safe bet and great time.
