They have the worst customer service you can imagine. If you do business with them do so at your own peril.

As we were walking up my grandson said " this is a fancy place ". The decor is nicer than most bbq places for sure. I was surprised to see so many options that were not bbq and a large selection of sides. He got meatloaf with Mac and cheese and baked beans. He said it was the best meatloaf he ever had and this comes from a picky eater! He loved the Mac and cheese as well. It was a huge serving so I got to try the meatloaf and he was right. He didn't share the Mac and cheese. Neither of us cared for the baked beans. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and potato salad. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Awesome. The potato salad was ok but I didn't care for the Brussel sprouts . I would try two different sides next time. A basket of hush puppies and biscuits came as well. We were both so thirsty and I can report they had excellent sweet tea. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The food came out faster than I expected. We will be back!

When you walk in the space feels like a converted industrial warehouse with a polish of upscale. You'll check in with the host when you arrive and then be seated. For the starter we ordered the Pit Sampler (a medley of their appetizers; which includes pit-smoked wings, BBQ soul rolls, Southern-style deviled eggs, and pimento cheese balls). Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the pit sampler as most dishes were a bit on the dry side, but the free basket of biscuits and hush puppies were great. For the entree we ordered the half rack of baby back ribs which were good but pretty fatty in some sections. I would return again in the future but may try something else on the menu.

We started with 3 dozen Daily Happy Oysters, which at $9 per half dozen. The Southern Salt oysters were incredibly briny. I don't mind a salty oyster, but these crossed into overwhelmingly salty territory and masked some of the nuanced flavors I usually look for. The snacks, however, were absolutely spot on. The Crawfish Hushpuppies arrived piping hot with a crisp exterior and tender center, loaded with crawfish flavor. The Crispy Frog Legs were equally impressive--perfectly fried, wonderfully seasoned with tom yum spice and vadouvan, and paired with a Vietnamese mayo that tied everything together beautifully. To wash it all down, we enjoyed a few beers, including a crisp pilsner, a refreshing wheat beer, and a local IPA that paired nicely with the oysters and fried snacks. Service deserves a special mention. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They kept the oyster trays moving and made sure drinks never sat empty for long. Overall, St. Roch delivers a fun oyster bar experience with happy hour pricing, creative snacks, and top-notch service. If the Southern Salt oysters had been a little more balanced, this would have easily been a 5-star visit.

I ordered the Chicago beef for lunch and it was amazing. Slow roasted sliced beef with pickled peppers and veggies. The sauce was fantastic. They have really good fries, lightly battered and doubled fried. Crisp and flavorful. For the kids, a good sized cheeseburger and chicken strips. No complaints from them either! Service was fine, the place has open seating and a bar, pretty typical these days. They also have an arcade with several games and prize based activities. Overall, a great day/night out in Clayton. This is also located right off I40 on route 42, there are a lot of other establishments to check out as well for drinks, dessert or second dinner!

The disappointment was the service and food. Our waitress was very friendly but she didn't know the menu or even the specials for that evening. I ordered a margarita which took over 15 minutes to arrive. The place wasn't busy and three of the staff were sitting at the bar chatting so I don't understand why it took so long to come to the table. The margarita was on the weak side. We ordered the Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and poutine. The eggs of the Scotch eggs were cooked perfectly but the sausage meat was extremely overpowering. I think they must add a lot of seasoning in it, and honestly it was too much for me. The breading was good and fried well but the sausage was so overwhelming that I just took the egg out and ate that. I do think they use the same sausage meat in the sausage rolls. The pastry was nice and they were a good temperature. But again the sausage meat was so strongly seasoned it was off putting. I do want to note that I grew up in Scotland so I am probably a harsh critic of the Scotch eggs and sausage rolls but my American husband thought similarly to me. The poutine was good. The cheese curds were nicely melted and the gravy was nicely balanced. It was a cool place to check out but I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Let's start with the sticky, unwashed table...yuck. Someone did come and wipe it down, but they left it soaking wet. Then...... 1. They didn't give us enough set-ups, even after we asked twice. We finally went to the station to get it ourselves. 2. The waitstaff ignored us most of the time and, after waiting for their help, we observed SIX of them just hanging out at the station, chatting and looking at their phones. 3. My husband spilled an entire beer and we asked the guy who came to help wipe it up if we could get another. His response was a very snippy, "...that's not my responsibilty". No help at all. 4. While we were still deciding on drinks, someone came by and took away the drink menu. we asked for two more, they brought only one, then someone came by and took it again! Since we now couldn't get a waiters attention, I finally went to the station myself to get one. 5. The food : Brussels sprouts in sauce were placed in front of us with no serving utensil, we asked for extra roumelade for the Pickles & Peppers but it took so long to arrive that there was nothing left to dip in it, wrong plates were placed in front of us, hamburgers were WAY over cooked and super dry, sweet potato fries were very soggy, sushi was bland. The espresso caramel chocolate malt that we loved so much before had zero malt flavor and was pretty much melted by the time we got it. We asked for six spoons for the malt and they brought five. We couldn't get anyone's attention to get a sixth, so two of us shared (we were tired of going to the station to fetch things for ourselves). This was overall a really bad experience at a place we had previously thought was outstanding. Sad!

There is plenty of parking on the backside of the building, paid parking out front, and be careful not to park in the apartment spaces on the side...they sounded pretty serious about towing. I had made a reservation but it was probably unnecessary as it was pretty empty when we arrived (it was about 5pm on a Saturday.) The waitress brought a bottle of water to the table and took our drink order. And I know that this place is literally call it's a Southern thing but can I mention how much I dislike drinking out of mason jars? I ordered the chicken n biscuits, my husband got the country hamburger steak plate, my BiL got wings, and my SiL got the crabcakes. We also orders charred jalapeno & sweet corn hushpuppies and frickles as an appetizer. I was VERY excited about my food. Y'all...the only thing that impressed me were the Frickles. Everything else was distinctly underwhelming. I also ordered Blackberry Betta Have My Money which was not that great. My SiL ordered a espresso martini that they said didn't come from a mix but she said it tasted like it was. The bathrooms were very clean. The decor and the vibe were great. Cute even. I really enjoyed that part of it. After dropping off our food, we never saw our waitress again unless we flagged her down for drink refills. It was especially frustrating since there was automatic gratuity added. And since the place wasn't that busy, it felt like she didn't feel the need to earn her automatic tip. Overall I was disappointed in my birthday dinner. I won't be coming back here.

Toni, our server, was very nice and understanding when we told her the fish from the fish and chips order just wasn't very good. According to the eater, it was "too fishy tasting," and the texture was different than typical deep fried fish. My son-in-law had the steak tips, and he cleaned his plate, so I'm guessing they were good. I had the Po' Boy sandwich, the third one I've had in the last few weeks!! Mine was good, but instead of a hoagie-like bun, it came on hamburger buns, so not quite as big as I thought it'd be. Still pretty good, though! The sweet tater fries were excellent!
